    What a cute village. It looks like one of those villages in a coloring book and as you color it in you are thinking… I wish there really was a little village like the one in this coloring book. And THERE IS!! Xanadu found it!!! 😊

      What a fabulous comment. We refer to them as "chocolate box" villages, because they often used to have places like this on the front of boxes of chocolates, but we love your description better. 😍
      Thank-you so much for watching.

    Upside-down signs are a form of protest by farmers. "The upside-down signs first appeared in Tarn, Occitanie, and have spread nationally, but it is in Brittany that they are the most visible.
    The act is a protest by local farmers to raise visibility of the challenges they face.
    “More and more norms, regulations, and restrictions are being foisted on French farmers,” the Jeunes Agriculteurs (JA) d'Ille-et-Vilaine group told The Connexion. Imported products are not subject to all this."

      Wow Paulette,
      Thanks for letting us know. We had no idea. We're glad we noticed them. Very subtle protest though. 💜🤟

    Looks lovely, and like you say, would be stunning in the summer (if a lot busier). We like France and have visited various parts but yes, always found it significantly more expensive.

      We intend to see.more of France when we leave the UK, but we won't be able to afford to do it all at once. We'll have to see France a bit at a time. 🤣💜🤟

    Nothing quite like wandering around these random villages that seem off the beaten track, very pretty and I do think French buildings are our favourite from the few countries we've seen on our travels.
    We are determined to try one of those pizza vending machines next time we cross over!
    Yes France is eye wateringly pricey at times, and even though the gap isn't big, definitely more so than the UK we thought? This menu of the day stuff though, we were always rubbish at finding those because we were too scared our language failings would cause us to wander in with no clue what to do....need to be bolder I think! Luckily for us we lived exclusively on a diet of red wine, cheese and bread in France, about the only affordable things 😂

      Haha we ate a lot of bread and hummus in France. Needed a mortgage for most other things. 🫣💜🤟

      Haha nope, you can tell the geologist that there were definitely NO dinosaurs to be found in these caves. 🤣💜🤟

    Which town was it, I can’t see it mentioned?

    • @findingxanadulife
      @findingxanadulife  7 місяців тому

      Hi Pam,
      The town on the hill was called Domme. The river side town was called La Roque-Gageac. Is saying that we were at Domme must have been left on the cutting room floor. Many apologies and thanks for watching/noticing. 💜🤟
