Probably going to listen to this episode 5+ times, I’ve been listening to the podcast since episode 60ish, I’m from Melbourne and this is the first time I’ve heard a proper Aussie accent with the hosts, the yacht hippies don’t count.
Woody has absolutely no idea about NFA items it’s hilarious. “There’s a yearly fee for full auto in the four digits” that’s completely wrong. There’s only a one time payment of 200 bucks for the tax stamp. They’re expensive because of the availability. The Hughes amendment made it so that anything after 1986 can’t be sold to public so everything that’s a transferable machine gun registered with the atf is extremely expensive because of the supply limit and the demand for them
I think he is confusing it with a license fee. Like the fee to maintain an SOT license fee is $1000 yearly....i think he is misremembering that.
