  • I thought I could do one last video but there is too much, so sorry. Here is the installation of the Engine, Gearbox and a little indulgence, a brand new rear shock from Brooks Suspension in RED......pure bling! The wiring loom has been fixed but still a lot of connections to make, but getting closer. It now looks like a GS again, well I think so?

Video 1.15 . You have to laugh yourself with your construction of lashing straps around your house, I'm laughing 5 minutes because it's just the perfection of craftsmanship. Love it ! I always work that way too, who is not strong must be smart 👌👍😁

Ha ha yes Deureka, I could not think of any other way.
Two airline Pilot subscribers came up to the Peak District and we joined together for a days riding. They also thought that was a highlight of the rebuild🤣🤣

This job is great example of having the time, being meticulous, marking everything, using a shop manual and enjoying the journey. Breaking a big job to a lot of small ones also helps the mindset. I liked this repair job, very educational. Thank you Sir, well done!

Hiya, thank you for all your videos on the GS. I've got one the same year and have watched all the videos. I would like to know about the shocker from Brooks. Hi Big T’s, thank you for your comments, great to hear from you. This is a copy from my order, if it helps. They only did them in black but fitted a red spring for £50 and sent me the black one to put onto EBay (I gave it to the new owner). If you cannot find it ring and say you want a cost for the same one I had...Norman Hill in Chesterfield S426BX....they are really helpful, great guys🤗. The front wheel frame which bolts to engine block looks flimsy taken into account the load forces it has to deal with, does the bike feels wobbly at frond wheel when driving?
