Just to clarify, with my minimalistic set up here its hard to hear it at it's full potential through UA-cam, in the room it is extremely close to the actual tone, if anyone wants to try these settings and comment back with results:)
I have that amp and I’m going to try those settings right away. Thanks for that video, I’ve been working on that song for a few weeks and this will help. Cheers.
Run bias fx thru your pc to your audio interface to your boss katana and into your guitar. Bias fx software is amazing you can get exact Metallica tones from the tone cloud
Man this is literally what I did but with 100 watts ahahah, the 100 watts gives it a warmer tube feel, also crank the master volume and lower the amp volume ❤
Liked and subscribed. Are you going to do a Ride the Lightning tone tutorial for the Katana, as well? Without the need to download patches, and all that shit. Is it possible to get there just using the amp original settings? Keep up the good work!
Have you plugged your Katana into a computer and used the BOSS Tone Studio? You can import and export tone files and make sharing easier. It also unlocks a TON of effect settings built in to the amp. Also, there are different reverb options and settings and the only way to know for sure what they are set at is by checking on that program. Love my Katana and the tone studio truly unlocks an entirely new world for it
This is a non altered 100% stock katana that jas never been plugged in, wanted to make a simple plug and play sound without doing all of that. The old school approach 🤘
@@timjenkins502 I would recommend you to try the tone studio, specifically to get access to tons of Boss pedals, graphic EQs (really useful when trying to mimic a certain tone) and for other stuff like cane resonance and the newly added contour control. With the 50w Katana it is also the only way to get access to the presence control, which I think is a necessity for high gain
@@timjenkins502 cool. I'm thinking about getting a new amp, this sounds very good. For now im using free vsts, IRs, ampltube etc., and it sounds great, especially for Metallica tones. Sometimes in future i would Like to play in a band an amp would be great imvestement

That is some annoyingly good technique on those downstrokes... you ever consider doing a video on the mechanics of how you pull that off so fluidly? It's almost like your hand is bouncing.
I tried these settings and something is still missing idk whenever I'm playing the palm muted parts it's doesn't sound as aggressive this is the problem I have been having throughout the thousands of dollars I have spent on this one tone
You could try different hand rest points on your palm mutes. Maybe you need to change the amount of flesh that is contacting? Slightly altering that can drastically change the sound, thanks for trying these setting though man!!!
This video is for people who have this same amp and can Dial in this tone from my settings shown.. it was recorded with a phone mic. Believe me it sounds really close to the album tone in the room.
@@timjenkins502 Oh i guess you don't have the "Variation" knob on the 100W version. I have the 50W version and it has a variation mod for each pre-amp sounds ^^
nice job, finally a video that wasn't 10 minutes long and was actually what i searched for
Thanks bro!! Comment back how it works for you!! It sounds even better in person. It was hard to capture the exact sound on my phone mic.
Even ignoring the tone your playing is incredible, been working on my down picking recently but not even close to this level, fair play man

Love the freddy outfit hung up👍🎸🎸🎸🎸
Excellent video. Boss Katana Mk II is hard to beat

the "boss" that we love

When you mean lower the amp volume you mean the volume knob? And what’s the benefit to cranking master volume but reducing the normal volume knob?

Most impressive
like a gd boss, sir

Nice
I think a bit more on the mids would prolly make it more better but besides that pretty close
It was hard to get the sound to transfer over the recording on the phone. In the room it sounds alot better than what u could capture on my phone mic
the whole thing of that album is that they scooped the fuck out of the mids
