Thank you so much for this video! My 2009 Ram 2500 would not shift out of Park. A couple of blasts of WD-40 on the part you show in the video, then a couple of blasts on the shift stalk mechanism, and now the truck shifts out of Park. Thank you!!
Last week we went to get the oil changed in our 2002 Dodge 1500 van. When they tried to pull it around, it wouldn't get out of park and they couldn't move it. None of the guys there knew how to fix it. We were just about to leave for a trip and thought we were going to have to cancel it. One of the employees drove us home and after seeing your video we went back and tried this. Sure enough it worked! I can't believe it was something so simple and the guys working there couldn't either. Thanks a million!
January 11th 2019 I'm stuck in a parking lot it's 25 degrees out. I watch your video it took me three seconds to fix it and get rolling thank you very much! Great video!
Hey buddy, I have a 2002 Ram 1500 pickup and thanks to your video, I just made it out of my driveway on a very important day of work that I absolutely could not miss!! My truck was doing the exact same thing. THANK YOU!!
This video just allowed to me to move my 2007 Chrysler Aspen after trying for 3 weeks to get it to move .I'm glad to see it up very easy to do. I would have spent hundreds of dollars at a dealership it was of great help to me, thank you for making the video .08/04/2020
thank you very much - I bought this van from my sister and she had the problem 2 times and was charged 400 dollars to repair EACH TIME! well it did it again and this video just saved me! AWESOME! and thanks!
Man. Such a simple fix and it worked perfectly for me. Thank you very much for taking the time to show how to do this quick fix. Very much appreciated!
My son just found your video for me. I've been battling this for a year now. Never thought it was a five minute fix, but something in the steering column going out. Thanks man! Just subscribed to you.
thank u man my husband was gonna have our 1998 dodge ram 1500 we had the same problem after having to pop the key ignition thought it might be the transmission but he just did this at 1 a.m. because he has a job in the morning and bingo it worked that fast thank u so much
FANTASTIC video. Subbed, liked & belled, lol. You're so great at explaining things in nice detail, but in an easy-to- understand fashion. Thanks so much. My friend's having this problem with her 02 Dakota, and I'm looking to save her about $250 bucks. She said her mechanic already sprayed it for a temporary fix but it still gets stuck now and again. I feel like he just only sprayed a smidge personally lol, hoping this works as a long-term remedy for her. Or than if it gets stuck again, she can simply spray it again.
Its called the shift interlock and its under recall! Take it to the Dodge dealer and they will replace it for free! I just had mine done on the same exact van while getting another problem fixed.
hello you did a great job in this video. Thank you. i have the same van to the T ......i wish to see you fix the heating panel the fan goes on high only and it stays on def only and does not work on the floor or to the face Thank you so much
Same problem, remove the boot at the base of the gear shift and squirt a little WD 40 into the sliding metal parts, instant fix. Common issue for 2002 models!
Question, wd40 doesn't work as a lubricate. Did the problem reoccur?? Thinking of adding lubricate spray instead...lmk but I'll do wd40 first since you all had success..
perhaps you have to clen the machanism before use wd40. there could be rust or dirt. this mechanism is very tight sliding switch.. if this doesn´t work check the spring. perhaps u need a new one.. but since i did it to our dodge, we got no problems.

I have the same issue with my 2001 Dodge Ram 3500
Don't use WD-40 in environments where water is not involved as it collects dust I know as I am a locksmith
Disconnect the cable b 4assuming its stuck like being parked on an incline
