Though I took Home Ec in high school (of course I did, I was born in the late 60s!), I haven't touched a sewing machine since then. A neighbor let me borrow her antique Singer and between the video on how to thread the machine paired with yours on the pillowcase, I succeeded in my project to make a cover for a little 10"x10" pillow that I use in bed on my belly to prop up my reading device, ha! So grateful for those like you who guide and share knowledge. Thank you! I would have attached a photo but not sure how.

Love watching your videos. I am a newbie to sewing and I am currently working on my first project - a patchwork cushion with 16 squares. Did anyone else start to sing a Pom Pom here, a Pom Pom There, Here a Pom, There a Pom, Everywhere a Pom Pom to the tune of Old MacDonald's farm when Jan talked about the Pom Poms?? No - just me??😂

Thanks for sharing the details and tips on how to sew pon pon trim to a cushion cover! I collect many trims whenever I can find cute ones at great prices and haven’t had courage to add pon pon trim yet though I already bought the perfect Oxford fabric to match it with, a few years ago! 😅 Haha. Now after watching your great tutorial I can make my new cushion covers with pon pon trim! Yay! 😁 Mine is white lace pattern print on gray Oxford fabric and I picked out a perfect shade of white pon pon trim! 😊

I've been following a weaving tutorial for making pillows on a floor loom but it didn't talk about how to put the pillows together. This was very helpful. Sewing with your handwoven fabric is very stressful and I didn't want to make a mistake with something I've already spent a lot of time on. I might make a video about my handwoven pillows and I'll be sure to send people to your video for this part of the process.

Adorable pillow covers, Jan. I appreciate the pompom tutorial & the number fabric is fabulous. I have made envelope pillow covers, but I didn't cut the fabric - I used one long piece, hemmed the edges, and overlapped the ends. It is a quick method but lacks the structure of the side seams & isn't as polished in appearance as your method. I am going to be on the lookout for pompom trim - I truly love it! Thank you for another great tutorial. xo

I LOVED this tutorial Jan! New subscriber❤ The fabric find of your grandma's was terrific too. I didn't inherit my grandmother and ESPECIALLY my mother's talent in sewing and just keep trying with small home decor and bag making projects every once in awhile.
Your style of teaching here was helpful TO ME because most believe this to be such a simple project but when you really want things to turn out nice and you are NOT skilled it looks rough if you sandwich the front and pom poms and back at same time🙄 Thank you for breaking it down because those kind of things are not always obvious to me, but im getting better. I'm going to see if I I can find that upcycled sweater one you mentioned 😊😊
