Aero Precision 17” Solus Chassis Review

- This is a quick review of the aero precision Solus chassis. This is a blem that was a Black Friday deal. This chassis is clear anodized, and weighs 4.66lbs. I purchased this to upgrade my Bergara B14R. I will swap out the factory grip with an MDT Elite grip.

I have get the barrel to put it all together. I hope it shoots as good or better than the factory configuration!
@@workingmantactical sadly i had to run random tiny washers i found laying in my toolbox. 2 on the front screw and one washer in the back to get it to fit snug. Without the washers the action and barrel had a lot of play on the chassis. I hope this isn't the case for you.
@HeartDog1337 thanks for the heads up! I read somewhere that people were filing down the screws, but the washers is a great idea. There was a bag of small washers that came with the chassis. I bet that’s what they’re for.
gotcha ill keep an i on it i more interested in the 7" chassis so hopefully they have a clear anodize one
They usually do blemish releases around holidays. I got mine during Black Friday last year. It’s pretty cool they’re offering @aeroprecision chassis in all sorts of sizes!

The washers that were in the envelope are for the front action screw. I have the same setup. Also the trigger pins won't let the action fully seat on the b14r. I dremeled down my pins. It was either clearance the trigger pins or the chassis and the pins are alot cheaper.

Haven"t shot it yet. I just put it at the recomended 55 in lbs.
I’ve played with different torque values, it can make a difference. 45 inch pounds made for the tightest groups with my b14r with the factory stock.
Loving the Solus content. Also eagerly awaiting the folding adapter. What rifle case do you use for the complete 308 souls?
I have an old pelican case, but once the folding adapter comes out I’ll sew up a short custom soft case for it.
Interested in the internal weight!
Just a heads up that you may need to trim a little bit on the front action screw to fit B14R

Need some help here... just to make sure I'm understanding this right. If I own a Remington 700 or similar bolt rifle.... I can purchase this chassis and swap over the barrel and the trigger and use this chassis?? Is it a pretty a simple install??
It's a super easy install. There's two bolts, "action screws". That's it! There's a lot of how to content for installing chassis. Once I get me new Bergara B14R barrel, I'll make a video of the installation. It's really simple.

Great vid it's been reported that the end of the rail has a lot of flex to it, have you experienced any flex?
I find the chassis very rigid. Can you squeeze the barrel and chassis and observe movement? Yes, but I experience that on any free floated rifle including AR’s.

They have a night vision bridge that mounts on top of the rail. Bolted it to mine and it's rock solid.

Just got my Aero chassis. I have a Remington 700 short action reciever and the bolt release does not work after installing the action. Comparing it with my previous XLR chassis it appears they didn’t machine enough of a relief for it to work properly. We’ll see what customer service says. Anyone else have this issue?
I wouldn’t sweat it. I would just use a small hand file to fit everything together. DM me on Instagram or Facebook.
@@workingmantacticalok I got it to work. I apparently didn’t have the action pushed all the way against the recoil lug when I torqued it down. Thanks for your input.

What does that chassis weigh? I like it
I weighed mine, it's 4.66lbs. It feels solid!
