Nice pickup. any A1200 for that price is a steal! Can't wait to see what becomes of it. The rotary encoder, so I'm told, is so much better than using the buttons if you have lots of ADFs to scroll through. BUT I dont have one. I use the buttons lol. I thought your clear A1200 was using a gotek? Yes/no?
Cheers mate not a bad little haul that encoder ive looked into them works well but i dont think id like it poking out the back lol My 1200 clear has a floppy mate infact just replaced it with a NOS pc one converted and just uses WHDload that machine mate
@@tooheystechgaming1977 yeah saw you'd done the PC floppy conversion. I may need to look into that as my A1200 floppy is more miss than hit. Yeah just assumed for some reason (before that) that you were rocking a gotek. Dont know why lol.
How did you get into all this... the tech electronic side I mean? I used to play the C64 back in the day and somehow managed to put together a ras pi emulator, but I'd have no clue what's going on under the lids of these old machines.
Boss vid george love the amiga back in the day
Thanks john gkad you like it mate amiga rulez ha ha
Look at your A1200 Translucent case. There is a place you get a hole for that LED for the GoTek.
im not sure id like to cut it
Me too have also the Transparant case and the rare GHOST (Glow in the Dark) case. I’m not a fan of GoTek. Like the sound of the old Chinon Diskdrives.
I think there's a way to have the gotek display on the monitor but ya I think I'd tear it down get it up and running then go from there.
I got the monitor working ill prob tear it all down and start again redo the keys to
Cheers for watching alfie
