Man I just want to say I'm freaking proud of you man your gonna be at 35k subs soon. Worked hard as hell to make these videos for us each week. The success shows... 😭👍
Bryan I can't thank you enough for this video a few months ago I bought the torque 10fx DA polisher and recently change the crappy white grease for some quality Lithium heavy duty grease, and your video was a huge help thanks a lot from Monterrey Mexico, keep up the good work.
@@YOPHILLYYO for the price point is pretty good, it has an 8mm orbit which is good for those thight spots, but I might consider the 15mm orbit DA from maxshine.
@@hectortrevino4755 i see a lot of vids saying the maxshine stops when it hits a curve. Do you have the maxshine? im looking at that in the prp 2 or groits g9. i can get a used like new 10f for 100. that's why i was leaning that way. I had a torq x but it died. probably my fault.
Excellent presentation. I wish at the end you'd mention a couple of other units that are a better choice for a little more money. I'm trying to select my first polisher for doing my own cars, and just want to get something that really works and won't fall apart.
I tried this polisher out at my friends place. It is smooth and doesn't vibrate like my old Meguiars G110v2. That was the only reason I started researching polishers again, and I would highly consider buying the Torq10fx because of the comfortable experience in polishing compared to my Meguiars G110v2 which vibrates hard. I like that the Torq10x can use 3 inch backing plate unlike the long throw machines. No need to take up space in my garage with multiple machines if I'm not a professional.

Also the perfect size for headlights.

Hello Brian - In the market for my first polisher. One that is maybe above average, and also won't break the bank. A few questions if I may. It has been four years since his video was made. Do you know if any of the improvements you suggested have been applied to this machine? And during the disassembly, you mentioned removing "the crap grease" and replacing it with the "good stuff". What is the good stuff? Is there a particular brand polisher you've reviewed, is reasonbly priced and well worth the money? Otherwise, thanks for a very informative video. John
At 6:00 mark, you are able to twist off the counterweight unit by hand. I'm unable to do this, did you loosen this with tools prior ? Thanks for this vid!
This is a great review Brian! I just needed to know which brush you're using for the carpet cleaning demo. Most brushes i have are designed for use with drills. Thanks.
I'm trying to change the grease in this unit per your instructions. However, when I press the lock pin to remove counter balance, it does not unscrew with fingertip pressure as your video shows. Is there some special tool needed to break it loose?
He said at the end in his conclusion, "it will get a one step done but anything further than that you will need to step up into something a little more powerful." What does he mean by this? What is a one step?
Thank you for your review. It was very detailed. I also wanted to know the size of the nut. I lost the wrench it came with. I wanted to buy another. It is 14mm.
@@rizocars6115 i just finally ordered a g9, should be here tomorrow. Their lifetime warranty, grease that doesn't have to be changed, lighter, ergonomics, and 6 months no questions asked return is mostly what sold me. It will be returned if the vibration is that bad or any other problems arise like a few others I've read. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞
You said you would need something with more power for bigger scratch removal but couldn't this with a wool pad then a foam and finishing polish do a bad paint job? This is my plan and I just got mine today haha. Also since I'm doing details do you think I really need any other size polisher or rotary. Can a 3 jnch and 5 inch pad not do most car then the rotary tool for door handles?
I have one that sounds like it has gravel in it, thanks for the video on disassembly. BTW, I don't recommend this unit or company, when I called to ask for help with the "gravel", they had zero interest in helping with warranty. EDIT: I found the nut that holds the pinion to the motor shaft very loose, I'm going to clean everything up, green Loctite the pinion and red Loctite the nut, re-stake the end of the shaft and see if that deals with it. I'm concerned about the pinion being beat up, and/or backlash.
Hello Bryan, great video! I have 2- torx10fx polishers. I really liked them until they stopped working. I don't have a detail buisness. I used them while painting and restoring 4 vehicles. Just personal usuage. In side of two years both of the polishers have stopped working. The digital switches will turn on maybe after pressing the on button about 20 times. When they do turn on they work great! I was wondering if you knew how to reach their customer service here in the U.S. , or a service center? Thanks.
This was a good video. I want to get a DA-Polisher for my own car maintenance (daily driver) and the Griot's Garage GG6 i don't like that there is no rear handle, and you can't set it on it's back. What would you suggest as a step up from the torq 10fx? Would a griots g9 fit the bill? Or a rupes LHR12e? Great video! I own this exact polisher and having an issue. Polisher spins fine but slows down or stops as soon as it makes contact with the body panel even with very light pressure. What part could be worn or loosen on this polisher to cause this?
That unfortunately the point of a da, mine has done this since new. I loose all pressure and hold it so its barely even contacting the panel and ive begun a diff technique when hitting strong body lines. So instead of keeping the pad flat which im still mostly doing but i only use either the top half or btm half of the pad n go in a quick up and down motion following the body line, kinda hard to explain but juat try working the machine a little differently.
