I have watched every video you have I am a single mum of 4....2 years ago I got out of a really bad relationship....I had to build my life from the ground up which was very difficult.....you helped me get out of debt, save money and just watching you helps me organise different things #carhacks #shelftember.....fast forward to this year...I have an emergency fund.....I have savings.....I am more organised and enjoying life in all aspects......i have come back to this video as my goal this year was get to the point I could organise 1 year in advance.....I picked up my 2019 diary last week and over this past week I have booked a holiday for the October school holiday it's our first holiday in 3 years!!! I have paid my daughter's £75 school trip which isn't until next may......all I can say is THANK YOU so very much for all your help I was in a very dark place and now I'm flourishing...your videos literally helped me out of a very dark time in my life!!! I love the part about calling family- some of us have loved ones who have passed on, that we wish we would have taken that time out before.
Every week I have an hour or so chat with my nana on Wednesday! It lets her know I am OK, she gets to hear about me and her great-grandbaby which helps to keep her from worrying (especially when it gets icy out, or flu season!). It's been so helpful, and it really has made a huge difference when work schedule + school schedule (2 full time jobs, school full time) made our family dinners stretch farther apart.
We also need to be better about scheduling date night- I work with my partner of 6 years and sometimes it gets a little hum-drum! We want to get back to having FUN!

"Purge" is my word for this year. My household is purging clothes, paperwork that is beyond its recommended term for keeping, college books, craft supplies (picking 3 crafts to stick with out of the 10 that I do), etc. We're going to end up with quite the rummage sale and I'm excited about it.

nice video and tips. I actually plan 3 years in advance - because I coordinate multiple annual events including my family reunion in alternate years. Hubby and I still use paper calendars (we don't use smart phones). We also have the additional challenge of having to share the same vehicle - so our planning calendar is essential. Fyi, I do my annual planning every September (my birthday month), when I also review my lifetime goals...I no longer set New Years resolutions for January. My new year starts in September, my birthday month.

I would love a video in more depth about your theme for the year. How does the theme affect your planning? I enjoyed the example about active family weekend activity to keep your strong theme for the year. More examples would be awesome. Maybe even previous years, just to help kickstart our family brainstorming. Thanks for this video. So helpful!

Holy Dooley, I thought I was the only woman on earth that planned the entire year in advance. I do this generally on a Sunday night in December when I have purchased my diary for the next year. It takes such a load off my mind to know that all the BIG stuff for the year is semi-arranged already. Traditionally, I use a paper diary, mainly because I staple receipts, business cards, notes etc in the diary; I am going to try out the block scheduling on my shared google calendar with my husband. I previously did block scheduling for a year when I was with Tupperware and found it effective, however in Australia you cannot buy Tupperware diaries unless you are a rep. Thank you so much for your insights, I am excited to watch your other uploads 😁

You can ask your friends if they have a gig, game, or something coming up. It applies to their children too, especially if they have an extracurricular. With that, seeing if neighbors, congregants, etc. want to come together during the holidays to plan a cookout, play, do mic night/poetry slam. As for service, offering a free workshop on a skill you have, looking over someone's resume, offering to write a reference letter, asking a friend if they need a tool/a hand with any hard tasks (e.g. cleaning tile grout, decluttering, moving bulk items). Just extra ideas I thought worth sharing.

  • @karenrich9092

Using Google calendar is great because you can list birthdays, anniversaries and some holidays and they will be there a year from now. Any repeat items (volunteer meetings, church duties, etc.) can be repeated on a regular basis. I use Google for many of my website design customers and my only regret is that I didn't start using it "yesterday". You made a great choice.

You can do home date nights we put the kids to bed early and make them leftovers for dinner and make us a romantic dinner. You can go for hike, go for a walk, walk on the beach, go get ice cream for McDonald's, even go grocery shopping together can be a date night

    • @TheNinnyfee
      @TheNinnyfee 5 років тому +4

Taking a walk to a nice park together or another nice spot, preparing a picknick beforehand by leftovers or planned in food to take, work out together if you are into it with special couple/team workouts, get a book or video about massage from the local library and learn together, board games you already have or rent from your local library, google some connecting questions you can discuss with a glass of wine at home, dance spontaneously if you want, check out your local calendar if there are free events that you can connect with date night. The question really is the intention of your date night and how much pressure you put on it being extra special. Focus more on connecting with each other and savouring these precious moments when it is just the two of you.Especially when you do it on a regular basis not every date night can be expensive, so the intention of date night shifts a little. If you want and you have a common goal you are excited about you can make this the theme of your date night, e.g. getting fitter, making a part of your home look nicer, saving, serving the community, etc. Only something you are excited about, of course, not a chore.

I am a new subscriber. And I love this. In the other video of your I watched, your husband said he married up. I thought was so sweet. And I will say he is probably right. But I hope you appreciate how goal oriented and willing to be a team worker he is (I'm guessing you do, as you both make a great team). Been married for 20 years and I adore my dude. He is honest, hard working, and very lovong toward me. However, I have wanted to do planning meetings like this for 15 of the 20 years. My husband does not like doing it, so we don't. I know we would be able to overcome the little stresses in life that...become big stresses if we had just planned together...had we taken time to meet and strategize on a regular basis. Well done, you both👊

Not that you usually don't look great but for some reason the casual energy, loose curls, sweater etc. make you look sooooooooo pretty in this video! ❤

Well this is a good one. It capture my attention something you guys said about planning ahead, is something repeated during the video. Here's what someone told me once and it impacted me very much: "If God, the Almighty, plans the Creation in seven days, and at the end of each day He sat down and check if it was a good thing, we mortals need to plan everything ahead". Is that important. It is something I used to struggle a lot with, but certainly a good thing to do if we really want to achieve things and accomplish goals in life. Thank you for this video. I'm going to suscribe. Like this very much. Blessings and hugs from Colombia.

Jordan, thanks for a video that my husband didn't mind watching at all. We did our entire remainder of year yesterday (May 1, 2019) complete with theme, master calendar, goals, then Google calendar (I'm venturing to skip my paper planner except for "To Dos"). Thanks for letting us hang in the evolution of your life! You're the bomb! Trish

Our homeschool routine was off this year due to another pregnancy, a work promotion and updated life goals. I use the calendar that came on my phone. It has helped me so much in simplifying. Free dates are awesome. It got to be to expensive to spend money all the time.

Just found you Jordan :) This is exactly how I think! I am a forward thinker, a planner... My husband, not so much. He doesn't like to make commitments for fear of something coming up with a deadline at work and ultimately disappointing me or someone else. We've been married for just over 11 years and with greater responsibilities in a church calling he's now finding out how much more important a planning calendar is. Love this video! I will be inviting him sit down to watch it- with snacks, hahaha! Thanks again! Totally want to "binge watch" all your videos now💕

My husband has a job but he and I also own a business together. I agree that planning a year in advance is not only directly beneficial but when it comes to family, it helps them to know when we can and can't attend things way in advance so they too can properly plan how the year will go for them (especially with holidays, babysitting etc)

We haven't had cable in so many years so I have never heard of Jordan Page. This came up as a page I may like. I really liked this video because it will help us look forward to vacations in advanced. Especially with our kids in college now, it will make us all plan and communicate better.

When I get our school calendar at the end of the previous school year, I put all the days off right in our electonic calendar. I also note which days are snow make-up days in case we end up having to go to school those days. That way, we can plan ahead for those days.
