It has to be said- and not at all begrudgingly, the Americans built fabulous performance/muscle cars back in the 60's and into the very early 70's. The American engineers appear to be advocates of the adage, 'Simplicity is the ultimate in sophistication.' It's a great recipe- slot a big, thumping, lazy, torquey pushrod V8 into a tasty shell - and build them for very sensible money. Mustangs, (especially 68 fastback) Corvette (especially C3) and Camaro's- amongst the great automotive icons- regardless of their relative simplicity, dare I say crudity? Nothing beats the sound of an American V8 giving it the beans!
Unfortunately, I agree with many of the comments about missing Edd China. I appreciated Edd for being low-key and not smiling all the time about what a great job he was doing. The man was very matter-of-fact about the task at hand, showing us that it was not difficult to do if you have the proper tools. We all learned so much from him.Speaking of tools, I'm curious why Ant repeatedly uses chrome sockets to remove/install parts on cars, particularly suspension pieces and when removing wheels. Even new techs know that you use impact sockets with a cordless or pneumatic wrench, not chrome (manual use only) sockets. You'll wear them out quickly and risk having one fracture in use. I have a hard time believing he doesn't own or have access to impact sockets, so what's his logic for doing this?
Great Car. Shame on the new dumbed down format of the new show. Mr Anstead spoke of all the work he had done on the car, but we didn't get to see any of it being done. OK, I know this is just a 7 minute peek at the new show, but I hope it shows more of what went on behind the scenes.
Why, why did they put those hideous wannabe Mag 500 wheels on there. Originals would have looked alright, but it looked so much better with the other wheels on it. And yeah, I miss Ed as well.
Great job! But its so remarkable that in the episode this car is viewed as a very fast car. They upgraded 186 hp to about 224. True muscle cars from the late 60's had over 400 stock. Due to the oil crisis, this model is all plastic and wings and no power. Similar to the 70's and 80's Trans Am.
I don't think they measured that from the wheels instead from the flywheel and they all enjoyed a little fib back then rounding of numbers etc. In the 60s ciggerettes where apparently good for you 😮
@@badbrainsful This concerns the 66 hemi 426: The dyno reveals the Hemi's actual output at the crank: 494.4 hp at 5,950 rpm and 498.3 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm. Where Chrysler formally claimed 425 hp.
Really a black mustang with silver stripe and you add a random red stripe? To match the red bits you've put in the interior?? You should of kept it silver! And put a black and silver interior in it also it's Mach not mack
You guys usually do pretty nice work but you managed to screw this Mach 1 all up. it looked better before you messed with the wheels and that goofy red stripe.
Sorry, don't really like the "improvements" much. Especially the seats and red stripes. Wheels are borderline. I am in the camp of no rubber band tires and big rims on old cars.
Thats why u dont let a brit build a American muscle car.it should be atleast 400 hp with no forced induction to move around that big heavy steel.absolute rubbish
Tbh all the muscle cars you built had pitiful horse power, granted it was all about emissions etc, but come on how can you make a massive v8 engine with such low hp???
It has a top speed of 119 mph and 0-60 in 8 seconds , it`s embarrassing the way they react to the "power" . "OMG this thing is absolutely flying" . it looks like they are doing about 50 mph max ,talk about hamming it up lol
I have always loved this year and body style of Mustang. Great looking car.
Can't wait to get my Mach1 finished! 1971 modified 429 Mach1
I'm in the same boat. '71 351 Cleveland though.

Amazing piece of art!!
Edd is gone and thats sad, but Ant is also a good guy!
Love the Ford Mustang. My favourite car of America.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Edd has a new show!
that car has a 351c 2v not that the 2v is bad its just the 4v is the one that I like 2v=2 barrel 4v=4 barrel just sayin
Put a 4Barrel manifold & a Holly on it!, it'll respond, Iam tellin you, any mod on the 351C , and you feel it!

Needs a third wing!
He complains about 1 hp.. I dont care if that shit was a joke, that was just pathetic
Thought the buyer was Aflie from Eastenders!

Ed le saca hasta 100 caballos más a ese auto
Of course we miss Edd... but that is not going to happen. Ant is actually a good mechanic, just not as interesting as Edd.
Bring back Edd China.
Miss Mr China.. this Ant guy is not as sharp and charismatic as Ed was... the producers tried to replace a genius with a pretty boy... shame
I bought meeself a Mack 1!
always a sob story to why they cant pay the asking price
@ 5:19 t rex arms meme..
The show not the same without Edd
Where Edd China?
Anyone else concerned about the obscene amount of slack on those seat belts?
red inside 100 % orginal
Where is the profit
What about the work of the mechanic
Ant needs to be on blue Peter or the really wild show or something not wheeler dealers
only 1807 mac 71 was build its special car

1bhp is within the numbers of a dyno calibration shit facts as usual
