I hope they add a skill that lets you store corpses and bring them to a rift guardian fight, it would suck to have a build that is only good against mobs and then becomes completely useless against bosses.
Chilly01234 "when blood golden expires, it explodes in to a pile of corpses" [set bonus] "% chance on hit for blood based skills to spawn a corpse when attacking a boss or rift guardian" (passive) "cursed enemies have a % chance to drop an extra corpse on death" how I would do it :)
I'm curious to know how Convention of Elements ring is going to work if the Necromancer does only have 3 element damage types. Are they going to add in a 4th type into the rotation so it works the same or just stick with the 3 and have it be stronger for the Necro?
I think more 'short' sets that have bonuses that either supplement the main sets or that buff certain abilities that work with multiple playstyles. Short sets being or types.
Cheers from Alberta! Glad that there are Canadians that are being noticed by big companies! Hope you had a blast there! Also that's some awesome swag, hope they sell that mug in the online shop...I'd totes buy it!
Just wanted to say thanks for coaching me back into diablo3 I went from your explosive wiz to now making a Zuni pet build and I'm really enjoying the build. Even though it's prolly not something meant for group builds it's hella fun
I can see Blizz making either a passive or a legendary to the effect of "instead of leaving corpses, enemies you kill add a corpse charge, stacking up to X-Y times." That way, you can horde corpses to use on bosses. That, or add an item that gives the Necromancer a sort of 'corpse charge' over time; like "you generate one corpse every second, stacking up to X-Y times."
Hey Rhykker. Thanks for all the vids and advice and the time you put into everything, as usual. Very excited for necro to revive (hah) an old favorite as a long time d2 player. Obviously we need to wait and see the other skills, passives, and sets, but when you were talking about struggling with rg's or single targets, I'd imagine they can work in a legendary like many of the others which buff damage/loh/resource management when hitting a single or under 3 targets.
I am pumped for the necro. I think the people complaining about this direction are the same ones in the forum every time patch notes come out that whine about: 1. It's not D2 2. We don't have PvP I like 3. No new levels 4. The sky is falling
Rhykker, GREAT video! I am super excited about the Necomancer. I love my witch doctor but I am super excited about this. I find it interesting that the DEVS notice that the sets and skills are basically cookie cutters. My BlackThornes are covered in dust and I never see any witch doctors using them. It's the same ole same ole... I know you had a blast. Love the swag bag!
My god i'm so glad for you. wished i could have had all those gifts or only the experience you had playing with the Necro. Well you deserve everything for all the good work you are doing. So proud to be a Rhykker fan : )
Blizzard is starting to piss me off, for one, with this "undecided release date and price". They stated on the site that the Necromancer was to be released with "the Anniversary content" so I rushed out and bought the game for my PS4 with great anticipation. Well, once again, as to be expected, Blizzard let everyone down as they always do. Now I'm stuck with a game that I bought for one purpose and don't even play cause I'm bored of it. Blizzard just pisses me off anymore, that is all.
Hi Rhykker! love the video, im a barbarian superfan since diablo 2.... in the moment that you bring that image with unused barbarains skills... it hit my soul so hard. We have a LOT of really cool skills, and we CAN'T use it because of sets.... Those skills bring me memories of Diablo in day 1 (wich i love so much).... Revenge: Blood Law rune: Give my life back! (with a cool animation and sound effect). Greetings from Argentina!
If they want to let people move away from sets they should buff the LoN ring set. Add a Necklace to the LoN rings but leave the bonus as a two piece bonus, so you aren't forced into always giving up both ring slots, and then re-evaluate the bonus damage, maybe have Primals give a bigger bonus bump.
well. There is quite the simple solution for the no corpse on boss fight scenario... have your spirit scythe shave off parts of epic/ unique monsters generating a "corpse"( dead body mass) each strike or a set number of strikes. this gives way to fight bosses utilizing corpse skills and later balancing as you can easily control the infulx of corpses. maybe only preduce a corpse on critically striking the unique. or whatever. it could be set as a rune so theres a meaningful decission to weight against other useful generating effects. the only issue I see is with the general concept of the 3 resource system. you wouldnt want two resources generated on the same skill. So if produced by a rune, on a resource generator the production of the corpse itself could drain the essence. or instea dof producing essence your generator now produces corpses only. And you would have to find other means to regen essence liek consuming the produced corpses or soem passive reggen.
I think a simple solution to the corpse problem is have a set that specializes in them. AKA set bonus(6) X skill(s) do(es) not require corpses. Damage increased by X% per consumed corpse. Simple and effective. Plus a free set bonus idea.
Would buffing the Legacy of Nightmares set not encourage a bit more freedom in how you play the game with each class? Even if it was only a buff to 150% increase in damage per ancient piece, I think that would be pretty good.
It was clear that at least some Necro builds will have problems with Rift Guardians because there are no corpses. That is why I suggested a Rain of Corpses skill on the forums that lets corpses rain down from the sky to deal damage that you can utilize as well for skills like Devour or Corpse Explosion... I thought that would be cool.
Trang-Oul's set turning you into the lich-vampire thing and granting you those low level fire spells was mind blowing for me in D2, I doubt that they'll have a set totally transform you, but I would love it if they did. D3 NECRO HYYYYYPE
I'm just hoping that there's a good support build with Necromancer, playing support is one of my favorite things to do in D3 and I hope that it adds a new build to use.
BlueLineRipper So yeah, it's a still an awesome game. Feels like Blizzard has given up on the game though. Wish theyd support D3 as much as Path of Exile gets updated. Oh well.
'Corpses will only stack up to about...10' /Monty Python and the Holy Grail 'bring Out Your Dead' pic link make me crack up hahaha. ty again for the info overload Man. great job
Heat changing mug is cool. However, be careful when you wash it. I only ever hand washed it, but even with a sponge the transparent lining flaked and then peeled off after the 8th/9th wash within a 3 month period since Blizzcon.
hmm.. looks interesting. i figured that most of their efforts went into making the necro, thus making work on sets that needs work on (akkahn, vyr, nat) further down the line. i am intrigued as to what other types of passives and generators the necro will have (phylactory tossers FTW) and the different uses of Bone skills (a hard on necro... had to be said). other than that, thanks for sharing that experience.
what would be the chances that they make the command skeleton into an ability with 5 different runes almost Mimicking that of the Monks mystic ally? Or possibly summoning 3-5 a lot like the Zombie Dogs for witch doctor. I feel that's more of what we are going to get rather than a limitless amount of Skeletons. Any feedback I appreciate. Always enjoy watching your videos. you give great detail.
Man if followers will have dialogue for the Necro I'm definitely going with the Templar can't wait for all the smack talk from him and I'll just be there laughing the whole time thanks for all the info Rhykker it was a great watch!
If you make the bone wall into a soul wall then allies could walk through with no strange lore issues. I think being able to control the battlefield with a pet build would be very helpful.
Im more interested in the sets and class specific legendaries for the necro. We all know that it's really impossible to tell how the play style and clear time will be until we know the gear combinations. Maybe the necro will replace the FB witchy. Or maybe meta single target? Maybe best support class... at this point its impossible to tell anything except the individual skills. Id still like to play test it.
I hope revive will have a rune that super buffs the monster revived, like makes an amalgamation out of the corpses in the area, but you can only have one out at a time and they last until they die.
Would LOVE if there is Inna-like set for Necro that will focus on curses since Cursemancer is my wet dream since D2. Also, think it would be neat if they add Assassin and Druid classes next (gotta kill time somehow before they release the next Diablo game... in like 15 years or so :p)!
i dont think that there will be any issue for necro corpses... There is still plenty of room for development and skills can be edited to generate corpses or maybe set items having a percentange to leave behind corpses... Nice video btw Rhykker and thx for all the info.
I really appreciate your effort to hype up the Necro-paid-DLC and your content you release on D3 is high quality! However even you didn't deny that there are problems which everyone makes wonder what Blizz is doing with D3 given your review and your annotations. Thanks for being that honest!
I think it would be cool to have like a bone vortex/bubble... like you pull the bones from the corpses and they swirl around you in either a wreath or shell of sorts doing damage and adding defense... thanks for keeping us uodated
God fucking damnit. I need to play this NOW. Also, 38:25, Rhykker, I got so nervously anxious that you left the bathroom without closing the water, lol.
Vangeance's saving throw against Archon is that it doesn't change your skill set. A grenade generator with vangeance still plays like a generator, and completely different from an M6 DH. Archon doesn't do that, it gives you just one and the same skill set. That's why archon is silly and vangeance is not. And be honest, DH need it. Otherwise there's just not enough resource since prep-punishment was killed.
I'm absolutely pumped to see my favourite character brought back to life (pun completely intended) In Diablo 3 I can see all other characters being retired in favour of my first gaming hero! Nice vid once again Rhykker and some sweet merch too!
32:33 they already did that with crusader plus whole new act. Also if new player picks up Diablo, he/she will not have necromancer, they will have to buy it so they will know it was added later to the game.
anything about pvp? 32:27 a que button or hostile button would be 3 days of work (programming and visuals) max. and would make a huge impact on the game in terms of re-play value
I was wondering when they release this pack will people that have the pack only be able to play with others that have the pack? Or will you still be able to play with anyone that has RoS?
well happy to hear all that good stuff on the necro. hopefully theyll try to clean other class skill. wizard for instance have too many useless runes in the laser (ray of frost, disintegrate, arcane torrent) and armors spells department.
I'm so jealous. haha, that gift bag is awesome! haha, and on the video, I think if they really wanted to open up more viable builds, they could just amp up different skills by adding in new items to do it. Just a thought though. IllMisfit is my d3 gamer tag. :)
I have a big hope for all of the class sets in this game. If Blizz is successful in making the necro sets where they buff categories of skills in a way that opens up a slew of builds per set that are as close to being equally viable as possible, around a couple of GR levels. Then I would hope that Blizz would have plans in the near future to do the same to the rest of the existing class sets in the game. It would be bad for the necro to have all of that freedom and not extend it to the other classes in some way. Or maybe they could trash the current class sets and do them over with the new theme in mind.
it would be nice that if some greater challenges could be added along with the purchase. Such as new more involving ubers, more zones that compliment any of the acts etc. I know the one map was revealed, but it would be nice if some new more challenging official content could be added as well, that is perhaps a little more lore driven and old fashioned then a rift, more like an event eh?
Always a pleasure to hang out with you, Rhykker. Thanks for joining us!
The pleasure is all mine :) Thanks so much for the opportunity!
Also, with the mug; as with all heat-treated mugs, it's not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only!
Diablo - Hate to be a pain but why was season 10 for consoles postponed till 2AM in Europe? :/
Often Sony/Microsoft has regulations on when updates etc. can go through. I bet it has something to do with things out of Blizzard's control.
Honestly the necromancer looks a bit boring like the diablo 2 necromancer was so I'm going to be staying with a character I know, the demon hunter.
Someone: Raising a family is hard.
Necromancer: Not if they're buried close enough to each other.
Someone: What?
Necromancer: What?
I hope they add a skill that lets you store corpses and bring them to a rift guardian fight, it would suck to have a build that is only good against mobs and then becomes completely useless against bosses.
This is interesting. Or a skill that passively generates corpses. Like a passive skill.
Well said. This is a stigma many necromancy classes or similar-concept classes have to deal with in many games.
Maybe a "sacrifice minions" ability that then allows you to use their corpses?
How about a Bone Wagon?....Some Warcraft 3 fun :)
Your pronounciation of Wasserflasche was surprisingly well done. Thumbs up from Germany.
Hahah really? I thought I got it all wrong! :)
the artwork you wanted, Rhykker: i.ytimg.com/vi/Rvq0_0MzSXY/maxresdefault.jpg
i was hopping you'd attemp the french line :(
Correct pronounciation of german words is always a solid measurement of a persons worth as a human being ^^
Rhykker, i live in Ontario and appreciate the work you put into getting us information =D
Hello, fellow Canadian!
Where's Rhykker from? Another Ontarian here as well.
kill me
I dont live in Canada, but still appreciate all of the information and videos. I bet all of the haters are really hating now lmao..
I need a second stomach
I'm curious to know how Convention of Elements ring is going to work if the Necromancer does only have 3 element damage types. Are they going to add in a 4th type into the rotation so it works the same or just stick with the 3 and have it be stronger for the Necro?
I like this question
Tawnos Wins doesnt it add poison exclusively to witch doctor? They could just do that.
The WD has cold, fire, physical and poison skills and Convention of Elements cycles through those.
I think more 'short' sets that have bonuses that either supplement the main sets or that buff certain abilities that work with multiple playstyles. Short sets being or types.
Glad that Blizzard seems to have put some effort into the community by flying you guys over!
Just wanted to thank you for your constant, quality Diablo Content! ^^
Cheers from Alberta! Glad that there are Canadians that are being noticed by big companies! Hope you had a blast there! Also that's some awesome swag, hope they sell that mug in the online shop...I'd totes buy it!
That animation on blood nova tho! Awesome work once again Rhykker!
Just wanted to say thanks for coaching me back into diablo3 I went from your explosive wiz to now making a Zuni pet build and I'm really enjoying the build. Even though it's prolly not something meant for group builds it's hella fun
Pretty cool to see! Not a big Necro player but your videos always sell me on different ideas. Thanks for the great video, Rhykker!
Hopefully they release the Druid next
OnenOnly Beats S I unfortunately can't like this comment as much as I would like, Druid was my favorite class in D2
Assassin was dope too
OnenOnly Beats S I played the Druid because I didn't see other people playing it and it made it that much more appealing to me.
Druid+assassin type, I'm in.
Well, HOTS just added Amazon. So that is probably next.
the blood build felt... _fluid_
The door is to your right
Has portal gun and goes left to go right.
Ooo the heat changing mug, I have that! So awesome you were invited and you shared with us, thanks much!
Sup from australia man, love your vids, not just the info but the energy and enthusiasm that you put into it. Keep doing you man!
Cheers!
"and that's gonna wrap up this video" - Outro song automatically starts playing in my head.

4. The sky is falling
Thanks for the information update on the necromancer. I cannot wait until the release.
i really like your video Rhykker, you still for me a tester and a right voice over all the shit behind D3 Thanks for your help!
Rhykker, GREAT video! I am super excited about the Necomancer. I love my witch doctor but I am super excited about this. Today I saw elite monster named "Rhykker" which was pretty awesome and unexpected surprise, you're now a part of D3 history man, congratulations.

Fantastic video Rhykker you are the best! I can't wait to get my hands on the necro.
Do you think the class will work well on console?

I'm just hoping that there's a good support build with Necromancer, playing support is one of my favorite things to do in D3 and I hope that it adds a new build to use.
Honestly I was hoping for a Lich transformation skill, something like the Undead Archon just for that play styles.
Is D3 worth getting back into right now?
I find the game worth it and fun, so I'd say yes.
BlueLineRipper no
BlueLineRipper I'm playing season 10, just for the unlocks. Will definitely go hard once Necro releases.
BlueLineRipper So yeah, it's a still an awesome game. Feels like Blizzard has given up on the game though. Wish theyd support D3 as much as Path of Exile gets updated. Oh well.
PFG DeathProof what are the point of seasons? Also, yeah I need this to hold me over until PoE comes to console
Nice video man, thanks for the details and stuff! :D Really looking forward to this!
Cheers Stormy!
"As opposed to the other non-portable water bottles." lmaaaooo dying..
We wish we could be there too. Thanks for all the information!
"Mostly dead" immediately brought to mind an image of a potion master portrayed by Billy Crystal ;p
hmm.. looks interesting. i figured that most of their efforts went into making the necro, thus making work on sets that needs work on (akkahn, vyr, nat) further down the line. i am intrigued as to what other types of passives and generators the necro will have (phylactory tossers FTW) and the different uses of Bone skills (a hard on necro... had to be said). other than that, thanks for sharing that experience.

When thinking about cold for a necro, just easily refer to Death Knights in wow and/or The Lich King, "Cold embrace of death" etc etc...
Man if followers will have dialogue for the Necro I'm definitely going with the Templar can't wait for all the smack talk from him and I'll just be there laughing the whole time thanks for all the info Rhykker it was a great watch!
I like how passionate rhykker is about this game :)
Give the Golem some passive and/or active skill like a Taunt or Stomp, its a must.
Oh man, I want that mug, Oh, and I'm super excited even more so now about the Necromancer.
Yo Rhykker Love your videos mate!
Cheers!
If you make the bone wall into a soul wall then allies could walk through with no strange lore issues. I think being able to control the battlefield with a pet build would be very helpful.
I play the wizard mainly and your builds have helped me out a lot, I can't wait to try out the Nerco.
Also, think it would be neat if they add Assassin and Druid classes next (gotta kill time somehow before they release the next Diablo game... in like 15 years or so :p)!
i'm glad they bubble wrapped your loot for your epic trek back to Canuckadia :D
Just that intro. THIS is how you playtest. Good guy Blizzard and Diablo devs!
i dont think that there will be any issue for necro corpses...
Rhykker sortudo! Thx guy!
yo that mug is awesome. are they sold anywhere?
I think it would be cool to have like a bone vortex/bubble... like you pull the bones from the corpses and they swirl around you in either a wreath or shell of sorts doing damage and adding defense... thanks for keeping us uodated
the bit with the mug was so cute hahaha
God fucking damnit. I need to play this NOW.
Also, 38:25, Rhykker, I got so nervously anxious that you left the bathroom without closing the water, lol.
Looks alright but I'll stick to my Wizard.
they could balance it like the firebird set, so when you leech a boss/ elite it would be buffed to suck more life
One more thing, thanks for the show, looks like you will be saving me money when the add on comes out.
Rhykker, why not a bone wave (instead of bone wall) causing knock back and bleed effect?
Will this class have to be purchased like how we buy DLC's or will it be avilable through the next update ?
gsupreme777 paid DLC
I'm absolutely pumped to see my favourite character brought back to life (pun completely intended) In Diablo 3 I can see all other characters being retired in favour of my first gaming hero! Nice vid once again Rhykker and some sweet merch too!
I'm hype. I only got into Diablo because of the Necromancer announcement. Bought Diablo II to prepare for the Necro in III.
Do you think they'll make a sale on Diablo 3? I really want to get it' but I don't have the money for it...
itay227 its cheap now no 😕
it's like 20 bucks for the battle chest... If you can't afford that you should probably save your money for food.
itay227 G2A dot com?
itay227 Its $21on G2A, you also don't need a credit card, you can just buy a PaySafe card. And also you get the expansio with it too
EugenesDI Where the hell do you live?!
well happy to hear all that good stuff on the necro. hopefully theyll try to clean other class skill. wizard for instance have too many useless runes in the laser (ray of frost, disintegrate, arcane torrent) and armors spells department.
"as opposed to the non-portable water bottle!" xD
"About Damn time Jimmy!" btw Rhykker is my Fav Diablo 3 Correspondent... much
Blight, a secondary theme?
LET'S MAKE THIS A PRIMARY GUYS!
13:15 But.... I want an army of trees... slowly stomping through the forest destroying everything in its path..
I'm so jealous. haha, that gift bag is awesome! haha, and on the video, I think if they really wanted to open up more viable builds, they could just amp up different skills by adding in new items to do it. Just a thought though. IllMisfit is my d3 gamer tag. :)
Nope, at d2 you have to click corps after corps to revive them, well actually "Clone" them, they became Grey-ish copies of the ones you've "revived".
You were talking about the Bone Wall not being viable....yet some of the elite mobs use a wall to great advantage to box you in.
Next time iam there too. Had to work this time :(
wait... is necro a strength character? or dex? int?
I have a big hope for all of the class sets in this game. If Blizz is successful in making the necro sets where they buff categories of skills in a way that opens up a slew of builds per set that are as close to being equally viable as possible, around a couple of GR levels. Then I would hope that Blizz would have plans in the near future to do the same to the rest of the existing class sets in the game. It would be bad for the necro to have all of that freedom and not extend it to the other classes in some way. Or maybe they could trash the current class sets and do them over with the new theme in mind.
Blizzard should create a skill that unearths corpses with a mid range cool down as a companion to the corpse required skills
That Mei edit at 34:00 had me dying
maybe they will put a rune or passive for revive that instead of reviving monsters, you could revive teammates but with like a longer cooldown
it would be nice that if some greater challenges could be added along with the purchase. Such as new more involving ubers, more zones that compliment any of the acts etc. I know the one map was revealed, but it would be nice if some new more challenging official content could be added as well, that is perhaps a little more lore driven and old fashioned then a rift, more like an event eh?
That coffee mug is fucking dope!
Man I was hoping the iron golem would make a return. He was super cool.
