  • Could you be a foster carer? When it comes down to it, foster carers are ordinary people. All you need to be is yourself and to be there for a child or young person. It could be any of us that makes a difference to a child's life. Clean clothes, food on the table, help with homework - any of us could offer a home to vulnerable children and young people. Fostering is all about giving local children a chance to flourish.
We know that the best place for children to grow up is in family-based care. Unfortunately, too many children in Norfolk are currently living in residential care, a situation that we need to change so that young people in our care can thrive and have better outcomes.
Even if you only have a weekend a month to give, you could make a start on your fostering journey. Norfolk County Council is the first choice for anyone thinking about fostering, as the support from social workers and other professionals, plus local training provided by Norfolk Fostering is second to none.
