I remember watching that No Friends VHS like 1000x in middle school. Still gives me a tingle when I see it. I gotta find my old Dave Hubb poster he signed for me for memories sake
that was a suprizing video , it help to discover some moves that i have never thought they exist , personnally the most pleasing move to watch in that video it was kirahu gainer flip it was crazy so thanks bro for coming with a new video idea that probably take a lot of effort to collect every clip for every move so thank you for your effort
So crazy to think of the impossible becoming a thing ! Sick insight ,still think eppo and the ars pushed the thought of what can be made possible! Yeewww Ian legend mate
Great video Ian!!! Nick Gornwall, JUST WOW!!!!! Alot of craziness!!! I still remember Fred Booth doing the first backflip in Bodyboarding magazine around 1990. Killer footage!! One killer video is Josh Garners medge video. None of these really crazy tricks, maybe an inverse, but everything hes doing is just over the top huge on a wedging section, and also, super clean. Alright, I'm rambling,😂 great video!!!
Loved the video bru it was awesome, there are 6 other tricks I’ve seen being the finger flip(flipping the board) by PLC, Josh garner has done invert to 360 board spin, we also can’t forget the 360 bird spin 😂, PLC has also done a no handed invert, PLC has also done a body varial (does a roll without the board), front flips are kind of ford flips so I don’t know if you count that, and I remember once seeing a air forward to front flip but I haven’t found the video after my first time seeing it but it was a bald rider on an old video riding huge waves and he landed it.
Nice job bro love it ! Biggest inv revo ever for me was Jason Finlay in Mexico back in the days .. not landed but heavy ahaha ! I always think about doing a video like that with the différente revers rotation possible ! Let’s do it together soon 👀
That's so so cool, never knew anything like that is possible...meanwhile yet to complete any move lol But dam sure going to keep trying. Thanks for the video
Can you do a video on giant closeout barrels and what you should or shouldn't do to minimize the pounding? Should you try to straighten out to avoid the weight of the wave or is it not worth the risk of getting a heavy lip to the back?
I did a video on falling in the barrel so I’ll post the link to that below but I suggest never go straight unless you can outrun the lip to the back. 9/10 times it’s going to be less of a pounding inside the barrel then having the lip land on top of you! ua-cam.com/video/ce3WQHipgBg/v-deo.htmlsi=RXtYL__q3aS-D1-5
There was a sequence of Ryan Hardy landing a clean 720 forward air. I can’t remember if it was a photography sequence or screen grabs. I know he was going right, maybe in Mexico. Ask him he’ll let you know.
@@iaincampbell_Nah this was when I was in high school still so almost 20 years ago now. It might have even been in Bali. I’m keen to track it down myself now
@@iaincampbell_ Nelz used to do different types, some more tweaked like a Gorf, but others with a much flatter spin after the inny. He made them look pretty functional & smooth though imo. ✌️👊
How about injuries...these are part of the sport but surfers or bodyboarders keep it out of the edits or never talk about it. There is no way that you can try these moves without any consequences. maybe a video of injuries sustained by some of these guys.
@@iaincampbell_ I don't mean to be discourteous but there is no way you can surf any of this surf points and not get injured. The most recent and unfortunate injury was Mikala Jones. I never met the man but I loved his drive and his commitment to his passion and when he passed, I mourned him like if he were a family member. I suspect Jeff Hubbard has broken ribs, Billy Kemper almost died in Morocco, Jeremy Flores landed on his face at Lackey peak. We bodyboarders, we might not be in the Limelight as much as surfers but we hurt too; however, we suffer in silence.
I am nowhere near a pro, so this little “injury” wasn’t too bad… but once when bodyboarding in a rocky area I got wiped out and scraped at shore. I feel this can be a risk in certain places for bodyboarding.
L4, L5, S1 bulges. Torn rotator cuff. Both pinkies dislocated in super shallow shore break. Separated rib cartilage. Lacerations, so many lacerations. More injuries but can't be bothered listing them all here.
I didnt realize there hasnt been a double air forward. Ive done a few of them, but never a clean landing back on the wave and riding out of it. Definitely some witnesses, but none of them are documented. Im sure other people must be having similar stories. Theres so many good air waves in the world that i cant imagine that nobody has ever landed a clean double air forward at one of those waves.
One missing move is the dragon flip: reverse roll to backflip. Tanner Mcdaniel landed one during iba pipe challenge in 2012 : ua-cam.com/video/d3IWPUC1Nac/v-deo.htmlsi=h_guUFjg8YBDeNZp
@@iaincampbell_ I have never said it was landed properly, but I have done several attempts 25 years ago, nearly landing on the board, but missing the half spin

Eppo did invent the ARS, double roll and reverse roll though so it evens out

In awe of these! I’m just happy to hit a solid roll or clean down-the-line spin.
😉🤙🏼
sick vid definitely gonna send a gainer next time im out,

There’s other manœuvre backflip front with tow ✋🏻 in the nose of the bord I watch it in book 1998 😅

Invert to forward spin?
Who did that??
@iaincampbell_ I don't know if it has been done yet, maybe I just let the cat out of the bag.! I always thought it was possible
Nelz Vellocido used to do them, but the inverts weren't very tweaked. More like Eppo Airs to forwards.

I didn’t add this as it’s very similar to the gainer and not too much footage on the move…
