I am really sorry for uploading this so late, I had recorded this almost a week ago but due to cricket final and tests, I've only been able to edit recently and upload it. Nevertheless I hope you liked this video as it's different to my previous ones and hopefully sets a precedent for future ones.
This video is in honor of the new Qantas 9 service starting-up between Melbourne to London via Perth on March 24. This will be the first time in history that a direct commercial Kangaroo Route service will be started between Australia and the U.K., and the quickest one too. This will also be the world's longest flight on the Boeing 787 aircraft.

I wish BA still flew to Perth, and its been a few years since I last watched a doc on Speedbird 9 but very vividly remember the light the ash produced or whatever it was that was very unreal, I saw in the morning you had a second comment on Victoria so please give me a moment Ill try to find it

Let me know if you would be willing to sit on this plane for 17 hours, I personally wouldn't mind but would want to easily be able to just get up and free my legs from sitting continuously.
Also in the new update there were no new regions as HD, so I will be starting work on a flight to Africa and Brazil soon (ideas are Abu Dhabi - Cape Town, and Orlando - Rio de Janeiro)

haha we can share the suffering lmao! Cant wait for the next vid. The software I use to download scenery downloads it as I fly, but 3mbps isn't enough for it frankly enough, so couldn't record the vid. Will either have to wait until we switch isp or download the scenery overnight before flying:(
how much internet would downloading the scenery take and storage? Im guessing 10s of GBs? sorry for the late very late reply too, probably the whole class failed the chemistry test haha

It’s sad to see how a legendary route that connected Australia and the UK via the UAE (SYD/MEL-DXB-LHR) will no longer exist. I remember in August 2013 when VH-OQZ , one of Qantas’ first A380s operated this route, with the water salute at Dubai. I was watching it from TV, and I was just 9 years old back then. I feel even worse that I won’t be able to fly this route and whenever I was in Dubai, I’d see a couple of these A380s. Thanks for 5 years of service, QANTAS. Yes indeed, I’m also saddened that Melbourne-London is no longer on the A380 but at least goes to SIN on the A380, and yup I was born in Portland and left in 2006. I wish they also have a HKG option to LHR or even BOM but that’s impossible 😂
Yeah, but the thing is, HKG is already overcrowded with Oceanian and North American routes, and I don't think BOM is ready to become such a big focus center for a large airline such as Qantas.
I don't even understand why Qantas did such a stupid thing like this. They could've have kept the original route, but flying through SIN is just useless because British Airways already does that on a 777-200.

I did this flight once (all 17 hours), I was on final, I adjusted the trim too quickly, infinite flight autopilot logic happened, the plane stalled out and crashed. I was playing online so I couldn't go back... 😥😥😥
wow I would have been so mad! but yeah I am now too scared to do auto landings because I know the plane will find a reason to pitch up very high and then stall for no reason

Hey Rishi, good vid. I wished that more daylight was present in the taxi and t/o as it was very dark and hard to see. Maybe nighttime is better when doing the map section like 2:00.

I did this route but it took me a couple times to even have enough fuel to get to London plus I'm doing EHAM-VTBS and it took me about 4 times to actually take off with KLM's Boeing 777-300ER.

Hi bro thanks for letting me know, to be very honest its difficult to cover short routes because the music is at least 4 minutes long and it would be very difficult to make the vid that long. But once my holidays start in 2 weeks I will be able to do lifestreams if my internet allows, and I will fly across India and other countries in all sorts of planes and airline :)

Sorry as you know I recently flew into Vancouver so I won't be covering YVR for a while, but for Brisbane, I've been thinking I could do Bangkok-Brisbane/Auckland on Thai 787, and for Air Canada sadly the new livery isn't coming on the 787s but either way I'm thinking BOM-YYZ as you wouldve seen on the polls.

Once I did a route from singapore to JFK across the Atlantic not Pacific! With no stopovers on final to JFK my brother messed up the auto pliot and I was mad because he made the plane get unstabllized and stalled

Oh, it’s an issue with iCloud apparently so you’d have to delete the Pocket Planes backup from iCloud for it to work again but you’d lose your progress either way

PocketRishi Thankyou for replying, don’t worry if it’s ‘late’ In your mind (pretty much every other youtuber never bothers!). I live in the UK, so my time zone will be quite different to yours in Australia (if that’s where you live!), but Saturday or Sunday seems great, as I have school on weekdays! Again, lovely vids and can’t wait for ur next one!
Thank you for the detailed reply too :) yes I live in Melbourne, and I'm thinking Sunday morning (the sunday after this one, saturday probably won't go well with US audience), which I believe is 8pm or so in the UK Saturday night, and probably works well with US audience too so currently thats what Im thinking.
General plan is to have the competition at Kai Tak, where there will be ATC services on Training server, and ill cover the event as a whole in a vid (depends on response), and dish out best landing awards as well. If you have any further suggestions it would be very appreciated, and please let me know if you'd be interested in taking up any ATC roles, etc.

Hi, sorry for the very late reply, had tests and still got one more. For the videos, the flight itself would take a few hours depending on the route but they usually take up a whole day since I have to find music, etc, plan the route on gcmap.com
the editing also takes a while, for every minute of video you see it usually takes an hour to edit, this is just because of the slow computer, and uploading is usually an hour to upload and 30 minutes of making thumbnail, tags, description, and so on

Hi, currently the 777-200LR has the longest range of any plane in service (ULR and 777X will change that in few months) and can fly 18 hours easily. The 777 is used for AKL-DOH and DEL-SFO. Sorry for not replying earlier

he used 102,000kg of fuel and it is an non stop flight 17 hours
