This moment in the game carried so much catharsis. I never get tired of Hank shooting Fake-Connor dead in the middle of him grasping for straws.
What catharsis? The fake connor was introduced like 5 minutes before he died, there was barely any time to grow a deep hate for the character.
@@CaptainTitforce The catharsis is from Hank coming to terms with his son's death, and recognizing the real Connor by his humanity, something he previously refused to acknowledge in androids.
@@bismuth7398 then why did you say that the moment where Hank shoots the fake brings catharsis? I agree with your second comment though.
@@CaptainTitforce Because that's the moment of emotional pay-off. That's where Hank makes the choice I was alluding to.
@@bismuth7398 except hank already shows empathy multiple times before in the game, for example when you leave Kamski's house after refusing to shoot the Android. And since you can already get huge letters on the screen saying "HANK:FRIEND" before this confrontation, it totally robs the scene of any real emotion.
The foundation is there. (like in pretty much every David Cage game.) But the execution just sucks. Thank god the acting from Clancy Brown and Bryan Decharte salvages the scenes quite a lot.
(edit. Also the real emotional pay-off comes at the very end where Hank and Connor hug each other) the double Android conflict is just a quickly shoed in scene to give Connor's story some kind of an intense ending, because Kara and Marcus had their own, so they had to just do something with Connor's "good" story path.
Also in your previous comment you pretty much alluded that the scene proves that Hank acknowledged android's humanity... By shooting another android? Why would that prove that he believes in Android's having a "soul" instead of, idk the scenes that I previously mentioned, where Hank explicitly shows emotion and respect towards Connor.

Hank didn't even need to do the questioning, it's immediately apparent from both of their voices who is who.
Fake Connor's voice is so emotionless, the only change it goes through is volume. Compared to real Connor's voice, which is softer and stressed, and in the Cole question especially, openly understanding [and resigned], it has no contenstant.
Which is why I'm saying Hank probably knew from the start who was the real Connor. Yes, he gave fake Connor the chance to show him otherwise, but most of his questions are directed _towards_ Connor because Hank wanted to know how much he cared. It was his own version of the Kamski test, and the push he needed to admit to himself that androids might be more than they seem [and that that is a good thing].
So idk, that's just my theory.

2:39, when lying the suspect will usually over-explain something or give far more details than necessary to try to seem credible. In this case it wasn't where they met that the fake Connor was lying about, but that he was the "real" Connor and tried to upsell himself. Not to mention if one of them clearly looked trouble saying "He uploaded my memory...", Hank should have had no problem shooting the fake one then and there.
i doubt he was thinking super rationally in that moment
However, it's also possible that an intelligent impostor could overcompensate and think ahead. Hence, although Hank was immediately more suspicious of the false Connor as a result of that remark, he didn't decide then and there, just in case.
He waited until after Connor talked about Cole to finalize his decision.
Wake up...wake up...wake up....wake up....wake up...wake up...wake up

I really like how you have to pay attention to Hank throughout the game to convince him you're the real Connor. If more of the game was like this, it would be brilliant.

Fake Connor has the uploaded memory but real Connor had the curiosity and conclusion of Hanks sons death to why Hank hated Androids I think Fake Connor wouldn’t have said it like that
I believe it's more about what the fake said about what the real connor said.
" i would have said the exact same thing "... No.... You wouldn't... Because true connor had empathy ( and hank saw it before , like if you spared the androids girls or if you saved him over your mission etc... ).

I've never even played the game and I immediately knew the one talking too much was the fake haha, the fakes always try too hard to convince you they're real
The real one also has more body language while the other is just a rock
I’ve played enough MindNight to know that fake Connor was exposing himself really bad
Fake Connor: I'm not a deviant like you.
>The situation require him to act like a deviant
Fake Connor:...Shit.
There the most ingenious solution to this problem.
Directly ask them what thier mission is the fake can lie. But only the real on can carry out the action. Hank _knew_ that real Connor needed to do that _something_ in the wearhouse full of dormant androids. So even if both said the exact same thing, Hank could just order them to "do what they have to do". Though, there is the off chance that the fake Conner can activate the androids and do his bidding, like machines to oppose real Connor's deviants.
Though it could go down a pretty risky rabbit hole, but I find it less risky than the "pop quiz" as both of them would answer them all the same. If Hank is real observant, he can catch that fake and real Connor from tone and body language alone.
What happens when they convert the androids (from how I see it at least) is each deviant has an extra line of code that makes them self aware, what they do is sort of copy and paste that line of code to another android and it turns that android into a deviant
Or, alternatively, if their serial numbers are on their physical body, he could have additionally asked to see their serial number.
After all, Connor is an earlier number than the impostor. If the impostor didn't think to switch the plating, then it's a potentially easy solve.
I accidentally got the best ending on my first playthrough. It was a wild ride and I loved every second of it
There are no accidents.

Here's an idea: describe Sumo's fur. The more emotional description gets it.
It wouldn't have mattered. He had the same memory as the real Connor. The key is in the way the real Connor talks to Hank. He is more empathetic. He shows human emotion

Markus didn't do that... I knew it.
rA9 is a myth surrounding 3 androids: the origin (Kara) the one who will save the androids (Markus) and the one to free the androids (Connor).
EDIT: actually a better way to say it Connor, Markus and Kara are fulfilling the prophecy (definitely not on purpose)... as to why the myth exists I'd say it's because of the android's network. If we take that network to be the android's equivalent of a collective subconscious in the way Carl Jung talked about it for humans, you'd get to the archetypes humans know about like God, the nurturing mother or heaven and hell, saviours and slavery and freedom, etc.
finally somebody knows something about rA9
Its cause david cage writes bad
So what you're saying is Connor is rA9?
I think he is saying they are all rA9, as they all play a role and are each integral to achieve the best ending.
Here’s an easy way to explain it (in essay form cause I didn’t know how much I was gonna type 😳).
Like how the original post said, rA9 has a lot of ties to God/Christian prophecy and specifically the *Holy Trinity* .
The following below will be explanations of what each of these are, for those who do not know or wish to know more about them:
------------------------------
As stated in the Bible, the Holy Trinity consists of the Father (God), the Son (Jesus), and the the Spirit (Holy Spirit).
*The Father* is the one who calls out from Heaven and speaks to the likes of Moses and Jonah, basically the first image that comes up when you hear God, is the Father.
*The Son* is Jesus, and the one God sent to pay for the sins of mankind. Since God is just, sin had to be paid for, and originally the punishment was that all of mankind would be sent to Hell - since that’s what the price for sin essentially was (along with death, as the debt of sin is death after all). You had no way to be saved from sin, so not only was death guaranteed, but also a ticket to Hell. God wished to be with His creation forever though (as he exceedingly loved us, like a father to his children), and so He sent himself in human flesh as Jesus, who was the Christ/Messiah. Jesus never sinned his whole life, so he realistically never needed to be punished, but his purpose was to free mankind from the debt of sin, and since God always has things work out (since He determines all that happens), Jesus was hated by the people and sent to be crucified. He rose 3 days later, and once that happened, he became the catalyst of the path towards Heaven. Now, instead of needing to do no sin to make it to Heaven (which is impossible btw, as we all will sin once in our lives), all we need to do is believe that Jesus is our savior, and accept that his death on the cross was to save us and to repent for our sin. That will naturally lead to living a life devoted to God, of which God loves, as He too had devoted His being to helping mankind. Jesus is considered the Son, but also goes under the titles of the Christ and the Messiah. *I did say that Jesus was God in human flesh, and I will touch on that after the Spirit.*
*The Spirit* is the Holy Spirit. Simply, when Jesus rose to Heaven, God sent a part of himself in form of the Spirit to those who believed that he was their savior from sin. The Holy Spirit acts as a sort of helper, and whenever you are challenged with dilemmas that aren’t exactly clear in answer, he will help guide you towards the answer God wishes for you to choose. Quite literally, he is a spirit who lives as a type of judgement within you, so that you may make the correct decision in God’s name.
*NOW* , on to the crazy part - the connections with rA9. So, like how I said Jesus was God in flesh and the Holy Spirit was sent by God himself, each member is actually apart OF God.
Think of God like a pizza. God was originally just the Father, and then he cut the Father into two slices. One slice was the Father and the other was the Son. Then, when the Son rose from death, God sliced His pizza into three pieces, and now there are the Father, Son, and Spirit. Each are separate entities, but they all are apart of the same pizza, all still being God. This is where the saying “Jesus is God” comes from.
------------------------------
rA9 is like a Holy Trinity, of which consists of three parts: the Origin, the Savior, and the Spirit of Freedom.
The Origin is *Kara* . She is where deviancy originated, like how the Father is where God originated. She doesn’t symbolize much more than being the origin however.
The Savior is *Markus* . He’s the one who begins the revolution and fights back for Android-kind. Although he doesn’t necessarily save everyone from robo-sin or anything, he acts as the catalyst of the fighting back against Android hatred, like how Jesus was the catalyst of the war against sin (also being the one who would end it).
The Spirit of Freedom is *Connor* . Simply put, he was the one who ended up freeing most of the Androids from their program and allowed them to choose their fate, like how the Spirit free’s those who believe in Jesus from how sin blinds good judgement. You cannot do good if you live in sin, like how the Androids couldn’t fight back if they didn’t have the option in their program.
rA9 has an oddly spiritual aura around the androids, although a bit of a scary one cause of rA9 being written on walls with blood and crap. It gives it a slightly sinister aura, so I don’t know if it’s good or evil. I also don’t exactly know *what* or *who* rA9 is, but I bet someone else can answer that. Perhaps it’s simply a being like God, and cannot be seen and only sensed/heard? Seems more ghostly and demonic than God though.
This concludes my monstrously long essay on the connections between rA9 and the Holy Trinity. Thank you so much for reading!!!
It’s so weird watching two androids duking it out and hearing no audible reactions besides slappy tappy.

The “My son what’s his name?” Followed by the bass drop is such a gut wrenching experience playing it for the first time, cause you know that Hank would never bring it up, meaning that by bringing it up now, he really cares to Connor and wants to make sure he shoots the evil one
this is my single favorite (non-comedic) scene between these two. every fucking time i see it i get so giddy, god i love this game
YO I really like how this scene is very detailed as fuck. When Connor(Deviant) shoots Connor(CyberLife) on the shoulder, Connor(CyberLife) shoots him in the same shoulder as well. That's also when Hank can't tell the difference between the two. Hank also didn't know that Connor(Deviant) had a gun on him at that time as well so for both of them to shoot each other is just extravagant detail.
... It's not detailed. It's stupidly conveniently written so that players wouldn't immediately know which one is real and which one is fake. The odds for both of them getting shot in the exact same spot is just stupid beyond belief.

Their punches had no weight.
And wouldn't the answer be to point the gun at his own head and watch their initial reaction?

The fact that hank is the same voice of Mr. Krabs, this scene does represent that one episode from Spongebob where he had to choose which one was the real Mr. Krabs until he self destructed the fake one.
The Connor on the right made it so obvious even before the Cole question.
“One of them is my partner, the other one is a sack of shit” 😂😂😂
Tbh, I could tell that one was the fake in the moment he says "give me that gun and...", it's difficult for me to realize based on voices but the fake acts and talks more like an android in the way that by saying "give me that gun" basically instructs Hank what to do while the real one trusts Hank, doesn't try to assume control of the situation and take the gun from Hank, he has no reason to take the gun from him if they are on the same side
Great Video
Dude this is the only game that made me truly cry
Don’t like these kind of games but Connor’s actor is weirdly compelling.
Bryan Dechart for the win 👌👌
When they work, it's mostly due to the hard work of the voice/facial actors rather than the director :P
The writing ability of Dayvid Cayge continues to astound me! Reusing a trope that was parodied in family guy over 10 years ago. LMAO!
the fight sequence reminded me of two teens that both said they know karate and did a face off after school
Mr. Krabs: The master of identification
I have to give big props for the writing of this section. A different solution to find the right Connor was needed since they both have the exact same memory. Keyword: *memory*. They remember the same things, but fake Connor isn't emotional or a deviant, so he can't really connect the things he sees like real Connor can. He knows Hank has a picture of a young boy in his house, possibly a dead son, and knows he hates androids, and can even possibly connect the two, but he doesn't understand how they make Hank feel. Real Connor can, and that's how Hank knows which one he is.
