For someone who might not call himself a FOOD EXPERT ... you do well to describe what you LIKE and DON'T. Again, I would be happy to try something based on your experience 😊
listen, the thing i like about your content is - you seem very fair about how you review food. further to this - you break down each component of the item you are eating, i like this - cause if you was visually impaired, you could just listen to your review. thank you for taking the time to be legit.
Only my second video of yours I've watched - but I can tell you have taste and I have a feeling there is great accuracy in your reviews. Well described! I can't wait to get to Vegas tomorrow afternoon!
I appreciate that. I just call it like I taste it though to be honest, I'm not that picky of an eater. Though my tastes have definitely changed a bit since starting UA-cam 2 years ago. I hope you have a great trip to Vegas! Thanks for watching!
I also hope the Rio makes a comeback under Dreamscape's new management. At least they have a good start here with their food hall. Thanks for watching!
I too miss the Rio Seafood Buffet. It was one of my favorites. Loved taking the free shuttle from the strip to the Rio followed by eating at the buffet and catching the WSOP.
I'm excited for the Rio to make a triumphant return. I tried Cheez Whiz for the first time a few weeks ago, and I still have questions, but such is life! Thanks for the reviews. ⭐⭐⭐
You know you have become my Fav Vegas food blogger. And my teen daughter loves your vids also ....i have mixed feelings about these food halls. They are replacing some great buffets that use to be in some of these resorts. And now buffets arw popular as ever again. RIO had the best Seafood Buffet in Vegas. And we spend a lot of $$$$ on food in Vegas. I don't gamble so we eat great in Vegas. But you know why i love great food 😊
I definitely feel you on this one. The Rio buffet was the best seafood buffet for so many years. But if all hotels are going to food halls eventually, the one here at the Rio is a solid entry. Thanks for watching!
You really didn't start smiling till you got to the cheese steaks they looked great then the cheese dip looked amazing and the chicken bowl yum have a great weekend and a great week ❤😊
Cheez whiz, big no 😝. Thanks for taking one for the team! 6 eateries in a single day. I felt like I gained a couple pounds just watching 🤪 You’ll kill it at the slots next time 😜Thanks Shin for the awesome content always . Have a great day.
I was at the Rio Las Vegas last week during CES and missed the opening of the Canteen food hall. I was looking forward to your review and you did a superb job on it. Thank you so much Shin!
Hi Shin, Happy New Year! I almost didnt recognize you, love your hair cut.. you look,, well, Human, lol, you know we love you either way, but you look great.
Happy new year to you as well Gail! Yes, my hair reached the donation length I wanted to hit so it was time to cut it off! Glad you like the new look lol. Thanks for watching!
Your double cheeseburger from Attaboy Burger looked like it was pink and undercooked. Did you ask for it that way or did they serve you what appears to be undercooked meat.
Cheese whiz for me! Canteen has a good selection. I hope the Rio makes an epic comeback once renovations are complete! Thanks for doing this video Shin! 🤗😂
My favorite was the last one. Also do you think your opinion changes when your stuffed as apposed to when your staving ... Oh and would love to see you playing old time slots🤗💙
I think being hungrier definitely makes you appreciate food more. But on that note, if I'm really full but it's still really good, then it's really really good lol. I was thinking of starting a slots channel this year. Maybe it'll happen. Thanks for watching!
Ohhh man Tony Luke’s looks exactly like the ones I’ve had in Philadelphia. Provolone are my favourite there for sure. At Jim’s I get American cheese always with mushrooms and onions.
Yes! I'm really glad to hear this that it looks like the ones from Philly. I don't have a frame of reference so seeing this makes me glad. And I love mushroom and onions in my cheesesteaks as well! Thanks for watching!
Yes! I'm happy Tony Luke's was tasty also. I think I'll be there a few more times this year to grab a quick cheesesteak, with provolone lol. Thanks for watching!
I was shocked at the more-than-fair price of the ramen… until I saw the spoon sitting in it, and it looked like there was maybe only an inch and a half of broth. Ha!
I am kind of missing buffets now, but do like the convenience of a food hall. I wish there was a happy medium! The cheesesteaks looked great! Nice and cheesy yum. Great vid!!
I'm with you. I still miss my buffets as well. Maybe they could make like a food hall pass for a specific price and it lets you get a certain number of items total or from each stall. I'd go for something like that. Thanks for watching!
Shin great review again. I really enjoy the detail in your reviews. You describe the foods so well. You certainly had a variety of foods in this video. Thanks for an enjoyable review.
Thanks for another good review, Shin. Do you plan to check out the $99 buffet at Anthony’s Steakhouse? Apparently it’s a very long wait on the reservation list, but Tim Lee got in on a cancellation and just loved it. Beauuuuutiful lobster tails and other premium items. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Glad you enjoyed! Yes, I actually did a video at Anthony's brunch around the time they started. You can catch it here! ua-cam.com/video/dnJXwbjhytI/v-deo.html
Great review, was most excited to see Tony Luke's, so happy it didnt disappoint, overall, a nice variety of places to eat, with a few tweaks, it could be very tasty indeed
I'm happy to see a fellow provolone fan! Ole Red is likely coming up next though I may have to postpone that one a week as I need to get there during day light to film properly but I have obligations this weekend. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for watching!
Another great video. I would definitely visit Tony Luke’s for a cheese steak with provolone. I agree that processed cheese isn’t the best flavor on certain foods. I would also try tender crush. Love chicken sandwiches. Ty for review.😊
Honestly, I thought the prices were fair and the food was decent. Tony Luke's and the California chicken burrito from Southland are my picks. I hope you enjoy the cheesesteak if you make it out there Jerry! Thanks for watching!
@@VegaswithShin thanks much Shin and yes. Wednesday morning starts Gold division team event. Pretty wild because we aren't that good but we won 1st place in 2018 and 2020
Oooh I was waiting to see this video! Lots of great looking food but that cheesesteak with the provolone looked like the best thing you ate there! YUM!🤤…I didn’t see any sweet/dessert type options there though…Or is there a place like that somewhere else on the property? Seems odd to not offer a dessert option somewhere. Thank you so much for this review!😊
There wasn't a bespoke dessert food stall but many locations had some sweets available. I think the burger spot had an ice cream sandwich and the chicken strip place had a few desserts as well. Thanks for watching!
I went to Tony Luke's Cheese Steak at the Rio new Canteen food hall. Easy to find just take the Valley View entrance. Plenty of free parking in the adjacent Carnival World parking garage. I got there right at 11 am. No line I ordered the same cheese steak I e gotten many times in South Philly. I got the cheese steak with provolone and onions. Too less than 10 minutes. The sandwich was the same size as the Philadelphia sandwich. About the same price too. It tasted the same--identical! Never had this quality size and price out side of Philly. I will try the pork with provolone and broccoli rab next week. CANT WAIT. 😊
Always great reviews. Prices look decent for a Casino Food-hall and lets face 5$ is the new 1$ when it comes for sides anymore. As for the Texas Toast it was absolutely missing Texas and the beef was a tad under for me. I only eat med rare if I make it or go to my local brewery here that are awesome.
I love that you could eat a good bread and butter all day too XD You showed us so much food in just one day! Hopefully your next time at the slots goes better Shin. Have a great weekend!
Lots of food in this one. My brother in law and I were definitely done-zo by the end lol. I certainly hope my slot play goes better next time lol. Thanks for watching!
Shin you have a great personality. Love when you discussed the slots. Talk more to us inbetween tastings. I enjoy listening I’ve said this before but I’d love to see you review in room dining. Nobody does it. Pick five top hotels. Stay at each overnite Review room and pick out a dinner or snack or breakfast and review. Also poolside food. Would be great. Looking forward to future videos.
I'll probably start looking at room services here in another year or two. I have my year mostly planned out now. It's a good idea though! Thanks for watching!
Provolone cheese for my cheesesteaks. Cheese wiz is too salty. Sounds like the food court has a variety for food and something for everyone. Thanks for the video Shin!
Yes! Fellow provolone fan! I think this place could use like a pizza place maybe but other than that, it's a pretty solid variety. Thanks for watching!
Shin, this is off topic but will you ever review Carbone ? I would love to hear your opinion on such a famous place. I know it's not new , but it still makes a lot of news . Thank you.
I do have Carbone planned for the channel. I aim to have every restaurant on the strip vlogged at some point in the next 10 years. I think Carbone is this year though, I'd have to look at my spreadsheet. Thanks for watching!
Hi Shin....great review but I am not a fan of the Rio. The food looked ok, but I didn't see anything that would make me want to visit the Rio. Nevertheless.....I still ❤ your reviews. 💯👍🙂
The Rio definitely has a long way to go to reclaim its glory from its prime but the food hall is a decent start and I hear the new renovated rooms are great. Guess time will tell if they make a comeback. Thanks for watching Allie!
When we were at our condo in Vegas for Thanksgiving Week we found a great Ramen places across the street from Silverton. We were staying at The Berkeley Condos. Its called Kobashi Ramen & Curry House it in Silverton Village on Dean Martin Driver you must put it on your list. And remember the next time Me & my daughter are in Vegas you must do one night of dinner with us my treat.
I will add them to the list! I do get a lot of requests for dining together but I have several obligations outside of UA-cam and now that I'm doing two videos a week, my girlfriend wants me to make sure I set aside even more time for our relationship among other things so 100% realistically, going out to eat with viewers on a particular night is going to be very difficult for me. But let me know when you're in town and I can see if schedules allow. Thanks Skully!
This food hall came along pretty quickly. Thanks for the great review Shin. We all knew The Rio could be so much better, let's hope these new food options are a step in the right direction
The Rio needed the Canteen Food Hall, back when they hosted the WSOP. Now the entire hotel-casino is in such disarray and disrepair I can’t imagine it will still be open come at the end of 2024.
Um, the buffet over a food hall any day of the week so the buffet, seafood buffet and eateries on the southwest corner were more than enough during wsop days
You might not have heard, but it has new ownership (dreamscape) and they're in the midst of spending 350 million renovating it. Its actually an exciting time over there after the last many year of Ceaser's. The renovated rooms are looking really good from the online reviews.
Shin, now you are part of the eternal battle between cheeze-whiz and provolone on a cheesesteak sandwich lol I personally prefer cheeze-whiz because I enjoy chemically perfected not-cheese-but-still-sorta-cheese on my cheesesteak :D
LOL! Honestly, I liked them both but provolone wins between the two for me. But I would not be unhappy eating a whiz steak for sure. Thanks for watching!
Lol, I was a very degenerate gambler back in 2013. I lost my entire life savings and maxed out all my credit cards back then. It was not good and I've learned my lessons. I'm glad I'm on the other side of that. That said, I do play some games from time to time, especially when I need to kill time at casinos during my video shoots, but my betting is quite tame now. Thanks for watching!
I noticed when you're not sure about the flavours you do a head bob/nod to the right and a head bob/nod to the left. I know that there is something that is not making you happy with the bite. Love the haircut. I know I'm late with the compliment
Sorry, but that sushi look like grocery store quality and at an outrageous price to boot. Have to say, having enjoyed a cheesesteak sammy at Tony Luke's in Philly, the one Shin had seemed to look like the real thing.
Can't say I recommend the sushi here. The salmon tasted great though the tuna was pretty average. I'm happy to hear someone who has had a cheesesteak from the Tony Luke's in Philly can agree it looks like the real deal! Thanks for watching!
I liked the attaboy burger. Chicken sandwich at tenders crush was good too but I wasn't a fan of the tenders. Didn't get a cheesesteak though as it was a 45 minute wait for food
I was told by the guys at Tony Luke's that there was a convention at the Rio this day and the lines were insane during portions of the day. I had a bit of a wait also but not too bad by the time I was making this video. I think they have an overall good thing going at the Rio food hall. Thanks for watching!
@VegaswithShin I agree the food hall was cool. Too bad they didn't have it back in the day when wsop was held at the Rio. I went yesterday at 2pm. Luke's had no line but the cashier warned me it was about a 45 min wait so I passed on it
Cheese whiz or provolone in your cheesesteak?
Provolone for sure!
I went to Philly just to try all the best cheesesteaks and I go for Wiz. Wiz wins with me.
Provolone.
why not both
Provolone
You're really honest about the food.
I try to be! I just call it like I taste it. Thanks for watching!
For someone who might not call himself a FOOD EXPERT ... you do well to describe what you LIKE and DON'T. Again, I would be happy to try something based on your experience 😊

Yes! I really hope the Rio makes a comeback under Dreamscape. The food hall is a great start from them. Thanks for watching!
I'm glad for your sake there wasn't another restaurant or two in the new food court. You're a Champ!
LOL! Yes, omg that would have been a very very rough day for me and my brother in law. Thanks for watching!

I agree! Good mix here. Thanks for watching!
Provolone for the cheesesteak. Nice video, great info. Thanks for the review.

OMG - the standout from these places at Rio looks like the cheesesteak sandwiches!! I want that now!! Thank you for this!!
Yes, I enjoyed those sandwiches! Thanks for watching GL!

Defiantly want to try Tony Luke's.

I was going to say they don't have a Chinese offering at the new hall but remembered there is a Chinese place there that's supposed to be good.
The food hall is literally across the way from KJ Dim Sum which is actually a really solid Chinese restaurant. Thanks for watching!
Provolone!
Yessss!
Provolone on the cheesesteak
Yes! Fellow provolone fan! Thanks for watching!
Gotta love spicy food!😃
I love my spices absolutely!
Provolone ❤
Yes! Fellow provolone fan here! Thanks for watching!
Yes! So far, not a bad job from Dreamscape. I hope the Rio makes a comeback. Thanks for watching!
Tyvm and yqw buddy 🤗...just stopped snowing but it's frigid here, only 24° high till next week 🤣
It's in the process of a renovation now.
You might not have heard, but it has new ownership (dreamscape) and they're in the midst of spending 350 million renovating it. Its actually an exciting time over there after the last many year of Ceaser's. The renovated rooms are looking really good from the online reviews.
Time will tell I suppose! I do think the food hall will last beyond this year though. Thanks for watching!
CHEESE 🧀 must be REAL ... especially on my SUPER ❤ NACHOS 😋
LOL! I enjoyed the whiz version also but the provolone one was just better for me. Thanks for watching!
Chili Colorado is usually beef and chile verde is pork. But it looked pretty good.
Yeah, they certainly play around with the recipes here a bit lol. Thanks for watching D!
Don’t gamble! Great video
Let’s go shin!! Comment for your engagement 😉 better than big UA-camrs!!
I appreciate that thank you!
My weakness, fried chicken. Your efforts are always appreciated. Stay hungry!
I love me some fried chicken also! Thanks for watching!
I noticed when you're not sure about the flavours you do a head bob/nod to the right and a head bob/nod to the left. I know that there is something that is not making you happy with the bite. Love the haircut. I know I'm late with the compliment
There's definitely a lot of analyzing going on during those head bobs lmao. Glad you like the hair cut! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
tuning in
Thanks for watching!
Luke's had no line but the cashier warned me it was about a 45 min wait so I passed on it
Out of the 3 recent food hall burger places would you rank them Durango, Fontainebleau, and Rio?
On just their burger shops alone? I'd go Capones, Irv's, then Attaboy. Thanks for watching!
The shogun ramen soup. The bowl wasn't even half full! What's up with that? Enjoy your vids!
Yeah, I would have appreciated them filling it to the brim as well. Thanks for watching!
If the buns not toasted send it back.
That's a pretty good policy I'd say. Thanks for watching!
Dude‼️🎉
Thank you!
Another food court? Thanks for the info. There's no reason to leave the strip for mall food.
Food halls are looking to be the future of Las Vegas dining for now. Will likely see more and more of them pop up. Thanks for watching!
