This video is awesome
Scared the shit out of me when Maestro first broke the fourth wall and crawled out of the piano 😂
Maestro is probably one of my favourite Doctor Who villains of all time. Love them!
Third time watching......and I just heard it! The giggle! When she came out of the piano!
It's wild how many people miss it despite it repeating three times, one of which was an exact quote
@@scaleofperspective6211 I know, right?!
@@scaleofperspective6211 I mean, The Doctor even says it out loud, "that was the giggle". And still so many people miss it!
@@adamcarlson2192 I know a lot of people were confused about the doctor mentioning the giggle because they missed it themselves
Really, I heard it straight away freaked me out a little I will admit
Jinkx sooooooo needs to return!
100%
God of toys
God of music
God of ........
There’s gonna be more of them
I have a theory since we have such iconic villains such as the Daleks, Cybermen and the Master, that the Pantheon Villains will be re-occurring villains throughout the whoniverse moving forward.
I really hope so!!
Im an old man I will say my problem with the new DR Who is that its not that SciFi intense, it's scifi but not as hardcore, then when I drop my wants and understand they are trying to get younger viewers and new people in to watch I must say it's an A+ why keep going with the same formula when your trying to get new people in ease them in don't go to crazy keep it funnier then other DR have been at let it bloom. I must say the second episode had me locked it on this DR. I am going to watch it all anyways but this raised my enjoyment of this new DR.
The old woman is June Hudson. The costume designer during the late 4th Doctor era.
And the bald guy playing the piano during the musical number at the end is Murray Gold himself, the absolute legend. :)
Your reactions were everything! So glad you enjoyed it.
I absolutely love your energy, definitely subscribing a brilliant reaction video. Jinx definitely need to be in more than 2 episodes.
Timothy who dies at the start, the actor's dad, wrote incidental music for 80s Doctor Who.
The little musical road back to the T.A.R.D.I.S. is Abby Road. A very famous Beatles album cover.
It's Newport town centre.
They used CGI to make it look like abbey road.
@@wispa1a therefore it is abbey road in the show. lmao it doesn't matter where they shot it. that's like saying that if they're inside a spaceship, it's not a spaceship but bad wolf studios.
I'm a huge Beatles fan. So this episode was a real treat for me.
The one who waits is called Chris, his name has been in huge letters throughout the episode. Or it just could be coincidence. Something to think about.
Great reaction Andres - no doubt you are the best Who reactor on YT. This ep is not one of my faves, cos of the last 5 minutes, but very pleased that you enjoyed it so much. Loved the concept of the episode though & Jinx was a wildly over the top as the villain! Wonder if we will see her again!
One of the problems I had with the episode is that the Beatles recorded their first album on February 11th 1963 - in the middle of the harshest winter the UK had scene for 300 or so years. 3 months of below freezing temperature. Ice and snow everywhere. Yet we see green leaves on the trees and London looking like it is spring or autumn and people dressing like it.
Also John Lennon didn't have round glasses in 1963 plus there were some other problems with real world continuity.
But Jinkx (and Ncuti) was great and I thought this was a bit better than the Space Babies. I think both were weird choices for opening episodes.
This is the reaction I have been waiting for ❣
I knew you would love it! What a fun episode! I think little Harbinger's appearance during the Twist means Maestro will be back. I love that Murray Gold got another cameo during this episode.
I l.o.v.e. LOVE this episdoe for so many reasons - Jinkx Monsoon as Maestro is absolutely chef's kiss, bringing not only style and flare but also a delicious sense of menace to the roll. There was a line delivery that wasn't shown where Maestro had told the Doctor "I'm going solo", followed by an expression that left me between pure enjoyment of the episode and absolute dred since Maestro's expression reminded me so much of Missy. Now, that's an interesting coincidence because in a recent UA-cam interview Jinkx had said that Michelle Gomez had been an inspiration in the characterization of Maestro.
This episode also gave me life and enjoyment. The camp of Doctor Who is back in a big way and I'm all in for it!
Love the message of, "be careful with what you say because your words create your reality". I'm waiting for the reveal that Ruby is somehow related to the pantheon. She's looking for her family and who keeps showing up. I could be wrong but her subconsciously controlling the events of the season could be a fun twist.
As a very long time fan, I'm having the best time this season. Can't wait for the boom!
Why doesn't this man have an Oscar yet?
I think you were so busy dancing that you've missed the actual twist during the song, where it was revealed that Harbinger is still alive! But it was fun to watch your reaction and I'm glad that you enjoyed the episode :)
Also, I wonder if you've noticed the Susan Twist cameos yet? It's the same actress that's been in 4 episodes already, including these 2 (in very small/bg roles).. Have you got any theories about who she might be? I think she could be "the one who waits", and/or somehow related to Susan.
Harbinger still being "alive" (is Harbinger even a person? who knows lol) wasn't the twist at the end (it was just a nod for future stuff with the Maestro etc. more than anything) the song is literally telling the audience there is always a twist at the end because this is a RTD Doctor Who series/season and he does a twist at the end every, single, time lol at least that's how I interpreted it more than anything else.
@LordLOC I think it was both, but fair enough.. tho I actually doubt we'll see Maestro again sadly, but I do think we might see Harbinger when it comes to another member of the Pantheon being introduced in the future, possibly the one who waits.
We are BACK ON TRACK with this episode
Awesome. As per. Don’t listen to the negative nay sayers as I’m sure you don’t as you have a beautiful open heart to just enjoy the fun of it. Its great fun xx
This episode was SO FANTASTIC!!
The season is only 8 episodes long (9 if you count the Christmas special for this year)
I think it's counted as 10, since the last Christmas special is included, and the next one.
As an older who fan i enjoyed it apart from the tagged on dance number at the end which i wasnt massively keen on . I've only just caught up with these episodes and i asked a neighbour what the first two were like when they aired and they told me it was ' too woke ' for them 😂 i knew then i would probably like it. The negativity from some section of the fandom (if they are fans ) get on my absolute wick .
Ditto.
I don't think I'm quite in sync with the switch from soft sci fi to flat-out magic and fantasy yet.
That's perfectly fair and I think kinda the point? It's so different it's actually uncomfortable.
I wish they would make a series about Maestro, I loved it!!
The villain was good but we don't need a series of her this one-off appearance was enough.
I think ruby is the toymakers daughter.
She's definitely above a regular human at any rate.
I can't lie I know The Beatles about as well as you lmao so yeah I'm not upset they didn't do any Beatles music
Ncuti and Millie are excellent together once again. I feel a little cheated that they’ve just skipped 6 months. I loved Jinkx as Maestro and this season's Gods of the Universe mystery box. My complaints come from the writing. It feels like we are getting sped through Doctor Who basics with heavy exposition that also feels a little too unrelated to the question being asked. And the song at the end was kind of cringey.
Great episode the one who wait's could be the master
I don't think so, because in The Giggle the Toymaker talks about both in the same conversation in completely different tones, and by the way he talks about them they are completely different people. He talks about he found the the Master, played a game that the Master lost and so he trapped him inside of his golden tooth, and later he talks about The One Who Waits and says that when he actually found him he ran away because The One Who Waits is too much for him.
@@NankitaBR Interesting theory, maybe the doctor some how free's the master from the tooth and they fight together against the one who waits
It's not the Master. The Toy maker fled from the one who waits, he beat the Master
I enjoyed the episode but hated the ending.
Let’s face it , it was a Disney musical and not Dr Who
It wasn't Disney-esque at all, it's more of a Broadway thing.
Broadway or Disney musical are fine things but it’s still not Dr Who and it’s so disappointing
Shame the end was so embarrassing and cringeworthy but I'm prepared to give it time, especially with Moffat on board..
THERES ALWAYS A CRITIC AT THE ENDDDDDDD!!!!
@@Vukxs 'And I'm not the only one
@@judiharris8796 Bros 100% a 2005 new who fan, go watch some classic who 😂
Well I saw the devil score and It was really good fun upbeat except I did not like my shirt she's like the worst Disney villain ever is she was at Disney villain shapey Ursula creepy squeezy and oh so icky
What? It's the Devil's Chord first of all. Second, they, not she. Third, they're not a Disney villain but a well written and well acted Doctor Who villain. And fourth, they don't look anything like other characters, they might look or have some resemblance, but that's about it. Are you insane?
