Agreed. Gravity alone puts a lot of weight on those pelvic muscles. Not lifting or even squatting like she's doing...OUCH. A week is not enough time for those tissues to be healed. I think an EXTERNAL incision helps you SEE how long it takes the INTERNAL cuts to heal. At 7-10 days, the stitches would just be coming out. It would still look very tender and raw. The seams would still be trying to heal together.
Yes! Ended up with scar tissue/hernia surgery years later. Please, please don't do anything for 6 weeks & ease back in. We don't want you to end up like us💜
The hysterectomy nowadays is usually a breeze..no incisions to speak of. Also good to keep the ovaries. Best wishes going forward. Your vids are the best.

@@susanspencer9538 I will add your family to my prayer list! God bless you! Lesa < PS - For your dieting try changing two things about what, when, and how much you eat (small things) every 2-4 weeks. Like first week start eating 5 small meals every day (&NO big ones), and have 2 healthy snacks each day. Try an apple with just water, and about 6 whole grain crackers, 2oz of cheese, and celery or grapes. Every 2-4 weeks, make another change or two. Like I cut out pop, slowly replacing it with lightly sweetened lemonade (yes, the Wyler's packets - BUT with ½ the sugar). Don't go cold-turkey, you'll probably get chronic headaches. DO NOT drink "diet" drinks - soda or otherwise. The artificial sweeteners are sooo BAD for you and actually cause weight-gain. I hope these few things help you. So glad you are feeling well Sarah...just take it easy...you may feel good but the body needs to heal..takes time...the garden looks wonderful...God is so good...
Keep looking after yourself, i also had a Hysterectomy and it dose take time to heal, even when you feel better make sure you wait the 6 weeks for a FULL RECOVERY, bless you and praying for a fabulous speedy recovery, also praying for the hubby, what a great bloke you are, a great husband is not far away when their sole mate is in need of love and support in all ways, such a beautiful couple, your programs are so great to watch and i literally look forward to watching them, they are educational, happy and just good vibes and i truly believe its your loving and kind natures that rub off on your show SO THANKYOU.
So glad everything went well Sarah. Now just take it easy and relax for a little while. You have a great husband that can take care of you and the garden.
My husband and I are so happy that you are healthy and safe. Take it easy, yes we missed you all but we are just happy you are doing good.God Bless you all.
Sarah, I'm so happy to see you up and feeling well after your surgery! I hope it is successful and helps heal you. PS: LISTEN TO KEVIN! Take breaks! Sitting in the garden wnd just being out amongst the growing things full of life is healing in and of itself. :)
Glad you're doing so well and taking it easy! I want to share my favorite Dill Pickle recipe. It is from a dear friend and neighbor who was Mennonite and a fabulous cook. These are Dilly, mild, crunchy and delicious! Your girls will love them. These use small, 3-4 inch pickling cucumbers. I've found overgrown cucumbers make great sweet relish. I look forward to your great garden videos. They are so good, flavorful and mild and their flavor depends on using young, green, leafy Dill leaves and young seed heads. This gives a great Dill flavor that is not harsh. This recipe is really good for making spicy, Dilled green tomato pickles, too. Don't use cherry tomatoes, only use cherry size regular green tomatoes which are firmer. Add a hot pepper or 2 or 3 along with the Dill. Also good for Dilly Beans and Dilled okra pickles. Brine: 1T. Sugar 2T. Pickling salt 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar 3 c. Water Have jars heating up in the water bath canner so they don't break when hot brine is added. Place a clean grape leaf into each quart jar. Grape is best, but horseradish leaves or Mulberry leaves will work. The tannins in them are thought to make crispier pickles. Add 1 or 2 cloves of garlic and a few fresh, leafy stems of Dill to each jar. (More Dill than usual). Then pack fresh picked, small pickling cucumbers (best if only 3-4 inches)into the jars. Bring brine to a boil. Have water bath canning kettle or large stock pot filled with water heating up on the stove. Pour hot brine into jars, leaving about 1/2 inch space at top. Gently rub a butter knife around inside of jar to remove any bubbles. Wipe top of jar off, place new canning lid on jar and screw the ring on so that it's just finger tight. Don't over tighten. Place jars in warming water in canning kettle. Make sure water is 1 to 2 inches over top of jars. Put cover on pot. My friend taught me to just have water till about 3/4 the way up the jar and she said bring it to a boil and boil 10-15 minutes until they turn "pickle color!" I think 10 minutes is typical or 15 if you live above 1000 foot altitude. Turn off heat, remove lid and leave them in the kettle 5 minutes. Remove to towel on the counter and leave for 24 hours. Remove rings once they have sealed. I am going to start adding a little vinegar to the water bath canner so the jars come out clean like I've seen others do.

Hey Shannan, after a long day in the garden I would go inside, take a shower and stand at my bedroom window and look at my garden for a long time. Often i'm admiring my work and how neat the garden looks. Often times my wife would have to remind me to get dressed and have something to eat. Then I would get up early the next morning and head straight for the garden, am I a garden addict? Are there any more like me out there?

Sarah so glad to see you in that chair. Let Kevin, Grace and Samantha take care of you the way you have taken care of them. It is as important or them as it is for you. You look so calm and happy. Your family is the most important thing. Lots of love and prayers.

You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm praying for a full and speedy recovery. Much love and God bless.
I am so very happy and relieved for you! My hysterectomy 22 years ago was a nightmare. so glad you could keep your ovaries.please don’t overdo! Kevin, take good care of her. Make her follow doctor’s instructions.
4 years ago I had my hysterectomy. It was the old time way not laproscopic. I bought a stick to pick up stuff because I couldn't bend over. The best investment. I use it daily will today. May you continue to heal quickly. May the Good Lord Bless and Protect your FAMILY! Rhonda
Glad to see Sarah is doing and feeling so much better. Do listen to the Dr. and hubby. Healing will be even faster when you don't do any lifting or hard work. Praying for continue healing. God is so good, all the time.
So glad our prayers paid off! You look great, keep up the speedy recovery! Listen to Kevin don’t lift to much! The garden looks great! I too check on mine at least twice a day!
I can not wait to move home to Missouri later this year and next spring I’m starting my own backyard garden. Maybe my wife and I can buy some tomato starters at your market next spring.
I am so glad to see Sarah op and in the garden. Because that is for her the best heeling place. I had my surgery 28years ago when we still where in the Netherlands. Please Sarah listen to Kevin and the doctors. Take your rest everyday. I keep on praying for you and your family. Take care sweety and please don't lift to much or stretch to much. God bless you all. God will watch over you. Big hug voor all of you.🤗🤗🤗🤗 And some flowers to brighten your day.💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
I planted cucumbers green beans 50 tomato plants, I started all my plants in my greenhouse so they were fairly tall. Next morning they were all gone.... Voles, I've trapped around fifty so far. My second planting is late but growing
We have them also n worms eating my cabbages, broccoli. Brown spots on apple trees n yellow leafs on few things I've been picking off. First time with mostly raised beds n all stunted n lit of onions not good n browning n yellow n to small. Ones I did in ground around asparagus n strawberries doing good. Tomatoes tops all ate off so I have to find plants now,I do starters but to late now.
Keep at it David. Your harvest will be your reward for persistence God bless you, your family and your garden. Ps pray over your garden God wants abundance for all His children
So glad to see you Sarah! Please take care of yourself during your recovery period...it is so important. I've had a complete hysterectomy and I know it is important to listen to your body. Continuing to keep you in my prayers.
I watched a video from “1860 Homestead” and the lady was wrapping her squash vines at the base with strips of aluminum foil so I have done this and so far so good... I have more strips cut so I can keep going up the vine. I’ll let you know if it works...
Sarah, 6 weeks means 6 weeks! You will benefit in the long run. They have come along way in this surgery but you body needs to heal. My pray now is that you heed the advice. So very happy you are doing so well. Love your garden!
Sarah...please please please take it easy for the full length of time....plus a week. I know it is tempting to just do a "little" but that little can absolutely put your complete healing in jeopardy!! God is so good, please please take ALL the time healing. You will be glad you did. (This is coming from experience) I'm so glad you look wonderful and ARE realizing that little things make you tired. Hugs and blessings!
I'm so happy everything went well with your surgery, Sarah ! I will continue to pray for you to have a healthy recovery. AND---NO overdoing it !!!! Your garden looks beautiful...A great accomplishment ! God bless you, Kevin and your Family :)
I just want to thank you for all the information you both are providing! I am 63 years young and have implemented the weed fabric and drip system you have recommended. IT IS wonderful! yep listen to doctor's orders take this from a guy who NEVER listened to the doctor, that is until i had knee replacement and my wife made sure i followed orders. hope you get well soon as possible. god bless and love your gardens
I was shocked you were getting up and down on the ground.. Learning to REST is a Master Lesson in life.. Giving your body time to heal! Your garden looks great!
I was managing a horse boarding facility when I had my hysterectomy. I also lived there. It will be a real challenge not to do to much. I did the non physical things, clean tack. Fill water (with hose)and feed buckets, sweep and rake, groom. You can weed, sweep cobwebs from outbuildings( they are a fire hazard especially around lights). Prune plants. Pick bugs. There's always lots to do as you know. Just pick the non physical( I know... the tedious) stuff to do. Good luck and blessed be.
Whatever you do, please listen to your body and the doctor's. I didn't, and had a relapse 3 years later. Our bodies are not like a man's. Lol. Trust me, the second time, recovering took longer.😥 It takes time but you will be able to work again, just not like you use to. Just some words of advice. God Bless!
I'm so happy you're up on your feet. Don't do too much and listen to your doctors. Kevin and your body. Your gardens look amazing and you all are still in my prayers!! 💜🙏🙏
BLESSED BLESSED BLESSED!!! Both your surgery Sarah and your lovely garden It must FEEL SOOOO GOOD to see how alllll those weeds are being kept in check = WHAT A GIFT! You could say that your garden is HOPPING right along...due to all the rabbit poo! (LOL) Cuz Kevin asked I will add...' BE GOOD Sarah! REST WELL...If you do not...you will only delay the healing your body NEEDS. Thank you for sharing your time/homey homestead with us. Health and Gods continued blessing upon you n, yours!
Shalom! Sarah and Kevin, it is so nice to see you back on the Homestead and you look beautiful. The Lord is our Healer and you He hold in the palm of His Hands. You are so Blessed and loved. You take care and be happy and healed!
Great video Kevin and Sarah, you’re both looking good after the surgery ! I know you both are relieved that Sarah is home and healing. You’re doing good Sarah and you are showing us how well you are feeling, just remember though and mark your calendar each morning as a REMINDER just when your 6 weeks are up then ease back into your garden work. It’s so easy to undo the surgery by lifting or catching something. Way to easy! Take care and thanks for sharing with us, Fred.
Sarah, you are looking great, and I'm glad you are following the Dr's instructions. The garden looks terrific. I'm looking forward to seeing the harvest you get. Kevin, I know you are doing a good job of taking care of Sarah. The love you guys have for each other shows every time you do a video. Keep safe and healthy.
As the dr told me when I was 42 yrs old and I had to have a total. He reminded me that what he had to remove left a good size space that the body would need time to refill. He said the body needed to do this a little at a time and "on its own"...not with help from you picking up heavy things, grunting and putting pressure by picking up heavy things!!! I was pretty active but did follow his instructions. Best thing I ever did and had just about NO discomfort after I left the hospital (2day stay). BEHAVE AND LET YOUR FAMILY PAMPER YOU FOR THIS TIME.!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙃
I am so happy to see your smiling face Sarah. Even though you feel good, you are still healing on the inside so please take it easy. I continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.
The garden looks great guys, things are coming along nicely. It's great to see you back on your feet and doing great Sara, and for heavens sake you listen to our husband and don't do any hard work or heavy lifting. God bless you guys.
So happy that the surgery went well. Do not lift any thing you aren’t supposed to. It will benefit you to do so. The garden looks amazing as always! ❤️
Rest, rest, rest!!! I think it is ok to spend time with Kevin in the garden. Just don't go past the limits the Dr. has set for you. Prayers for swift recovery.💗🙏💗

So GLAD that Sara is doing so well! Now, BEHAVE!! Because you WILL feel good, PLEASE, don't overdo! It will be so tempting! And very easy to sit yourself back! I know from experience, I overdid, lifted too much and ended up with an infection! NOT good! Had I not done that, I would have been healed up and ready for work. So don't tempt fate. And you will be ready to HELP with the canning! Kevin and the Girls can handle most everything else, with your supervision of course!

You are so sweet Sarah 🌹🌺
✝️ God bless you and bless your family,I am happy to see both of you well 🌹
Keep resting after your op. It’s is really important I didn’t listen and had lots of complications.
Sarah so glad to see you in that chair. Let Kevin, Grace and Samantha take care of you the way you have taken care of them. It is as important or them as it is for you. You look so calm and happy. Your family is the most important thing. Lots of love and prayers.
Alright Super Woman lay that Cape and the Super powers down and listen to the "Commander and chiefs" that out rank you at this time! 😆 For real though, baby girl, please take heed to the "rest orders"!
You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm praying for a full and speedy recovery. Much love and God bless.
Continued prayers sent. You have a very capable family.. your garden is beautiful.
Rhonda
I remember them watermelons last year. Abundance! God bless y’all have another good season 😊
Thank you Lord, he's still watching over you. Prayers still going up.

Take good care Sarah, don't push it and make sure to get lots of rest. Thanking the Lord for answers to prayers.
I can not wait to move home to Missouri later this year and next spring I’m starting my own backyard garden. Maybe my wife and I can buy some tomato starters at your market next spring.
We love it here. 😁
I had crib panels I used for trellis. Worked great, green beans, cucumbers. And squash grew upward so good and fast.
Used the metal spring also
Neighbor and friends helped them selves
Didn't mind at all.
That was when I lived in Hillsville, VA. Now going to see how they work here in Baker City OR
Mind your doctor, take care of you. In the long run, you will benefit from it. You look radiant. Your garden is spectacular
Really love the garden cloth! Makes the crops clean. Plenty of work space.
Big hug voor all of you.🤗🤗🤗🤗
And some flowers to brighten your day.💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
I planted cucumbers green beans 50 tomato plants, I started all my plants in my greenhouse so they were fairly tall. Next morning they were all gone.... Voles, I've trapped around fifty so far. My second planting is late but growing
WOW! That's a lot of voles.
Your harvest will be your reward for persistence
God bless you, your family and your garden. Ps pray over your garden
God wants abundance for all His children
@@melisacanada994 I will pray for your garden. Love, in Christ, Lesa
So sorry to hear about your vole attack. They must have sent the whole vole ARMY your way!! God will bless your persistence. 🙏😌
So glad you are recovering well🤗. Wow, what is a BEAUTIFUL garden, I am impressed! Much love and God bless 💖
Continuing to pray for healing. Listen to your husband and the doctors.
Sarah, 6 weeks means 6 weeks! You will benefit in the long run. They have come along way in this surgery but you body needs to heal. My pray now is that you heed the advice. So very happy you are doing so well. Love your garden!
So glad to hear you're doing so well.
Peaches and cream are my absolute favorite sweet corn. You can almost double your yield if you side dress with nitrogen
I'm so happy everything went well with your surgery, Sarah ! I will continue to pray for you to have a healthy recovery. AND---NO overdoing it !!!! Your garden looks beautiful...A great accomplishment ! God bless you, Kevin and your Family :)
We grow soy beans and my husband says it's likely a seed issue that they weren't good ones.
I just want to thank you for all the information you both are providing! I am 63 years young and have implemented the weed fabric and drip system you have recommended. IT IS wonderful! Where have you been ? We needed you years ago. This entire garden system will be passed down to our children and grandchildren. May God continue to bless you!
So glad you’re safe and getting better! I remembered you every day at Mass ! God is so good!
Love you two so much ! Both of you such good teachers and loving encouragers . So many good tips . Because of you I had ground cover put down. . And I am 81 ! About time to stop pulling weeds ! You two radiate Jesus . I am praying for you ,more to hold that tiger down until you’re completely healed .
Get well soon do 80% of what you think you can do.
Sara, So glad to hear your surgery was a success and that you are recovering so quickly! THANKS BE TO GOD!
yep listen to doctor's orders take this from a guy who NEVER listened to the doctor, that is until i had knee replacement and my wife made sure i followed orders. hope you get well soon as possible. god bless and love your gardens
Yeaaaa, Sarah is back, now make sure you behave yourself and don't push it, we love you guys so take care of yourself.
God Bless!
All the farm animal and bird sounds...the soundtrack from my childhood!! I. LOVE. IT❤️
Good to see you guys back, glad to hear everything went well.
I'm so happy you're up on your feet. Don't do too much and listen to your doctors. Kevin and your body. Your gardens look amazing and you all are still in my prayers!! 💜🙏🙏
Nothing over 10 pounds remember when you were supposed to take it easy Kevin good luck with that glad things went well
BLESSED BLESSED BLESSED!!!
HAHAHAH, Kevin,
Yes!!
Heck, I don’t understand the circle shirt......
Shalom! Sarah and Kevin, it is so nice to see you back on the Homestead and you look beautiful. The Lord is our Healer and you He hold in the palm of His Hands. You are so Blessed and loved. You take care and be happy and healed!
Sarah, Soy contains a lot of estrogen. I can't eat it at all because the day after I feel so irritable. Maybe God is sparing you. ❤
I don’t really want to say this, but OBEY YOUR HUSBAND! He’s got your along term health in mind...
You are living in the best lifestyle ever for today’s economy. You are blessed and Wise. Keep up the good work.
So Happy you are doing so well Sarah..Praise God for protecting and watching over you..
I am so happy to see your smiling face Sarah. Even though you feel good, you are still healing on the inside so please take it easy. I continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.
Wow how great is the LORD everything is looking great Praise the Lord for Sara's great and fast recovery.
The garden looks great guys, things are coming along nicely. It's great to see you back on your feet and doing great Sara, and for heavens sake you listen to our husband and don't do any hard work or heavy lifting. God bless you guys.
Praying God grants you complete healing Sarah as you listen to your body and take the time to rest.
God bless you both and Sarah I pray that you recover your health completely , With His stripes you were healed
I'm so happy to see you're doing so well after your surgery. Listen to Kevin and let him and the girls spoil you for a while. X
Praise the Lord! We were praying for you! Really appreciate all you do to help all of us become better homesteaders!
Who else loved when Sarah talked about squashing the squash bugs and finding their eggs to stomp and squish them. LOL. I've just never heard her say anything like that and it was so funny! Love her! (If you read this Sarah, it was cute...nothing wrong with that at all.) 😁
Sarah, you are going to okay real soon. Luckily you began very healthy and resilient to all affliction. Couch potato people will not have your stamina. Take care and the good Lord bless you even more. Thank you all for blessing us stay-at-homer’s with your life stories and gardening adventures. Sincerely,
Dear Sarah thanks God everything went well, so happy to see you back but.....please be careful and cautious, don't exert yourself. Your family needs you in good health, so you all can have fun at harvest time. It's so good to see you both again and to hear the enthusiasm in your voices when describing the crops. My prayers with you. God bless.
Sara take care of your self to have a good recovery. you do not want any hernia. I will continue praying for you in our prayer service. God bless you
Please listen to everyone, your body needs time to heal. Praying for a speedy recovery. Your garden looks absolutely beautiful. Ours isn't doing good. Take care and God bless you both. Remember to take breaks and no lifting. 💖⚘🤗🙂
Please listen to Dr. You are precious and need to get well.
Think of it this way, if you hurt your stitches you may have to go back and get another surgery. That should motivate you.
