    Agree 100% with what John Traiger has said. It all looks so simple, but then that is all down to you, George! it is certainly an interesting exercise and makes me wonder if I have any images of my own I could use to a similar effect. Many thanks yet again, my friend.

      You're welcome Peter! A little background on the idea, I have a beautiful photo that I found online and used in a video early last year that looked kind of like this. It was a sunset looking across still water in Alaska. Wanted to use that again but it has been removed from the public domain web site so is no longer available for online download. So I looked around for how I could recreate it and found this great sunset. The rest followed naturally. My biggest source of inspiration is getting a basic idea then doing image searches on Google to see if I can refine my thoughts, then I see what I can find on the public domain image web sites to see how close I can get to what I want to do, then comes the project creation. Most of my time is actually spent looking for public domain images to use for my projects since I want them easy to get for anyone following along with the videos.

    A great exercise which can expand the skill level of PS Element users. I gained some fundamental understanding of a least 12 varied techniques that were employed to complete the project. Merging all layers with CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-E was a real nugget of knowledge and made the entire video all the more valuable for me. Your vast understanding of Photoshop Elements, combined with your clear teaching techniques make for an outstanding learning experience. Splendid job.

    Wow, George, I learned a lot on this video... I never knew how to use the "Straightening Tool" or the guides, and how to properly use the Style Settings, how to merge those 3 layers together and to use the blending modes... Thank You very much! This was one of my most helpful video!

    please, How to use the puppet wrap with PSE15?

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  7 років тому

      Hi Luther, unfortunately Photoshop Elements does not have Puppet Warp, wish it did. You need the more powerful Adobe Photoshop to get Puppet Warp. Photoshop Elements 15 does have the Adjust Facial Features tool which gives you some of the same abilities but just for faces. Here is a link to a video about Adjust Facial Features ua-cam.com/video/Ry2neECNquA/v-deo.html

    NO NOT A MIRROR IMAGE that is a REFLECTION. A Mirror image would say a police officer in uniform with the BADGE over the WRONG Pocket and you needed to "MIRROR" the image to show the badge over the correct side for viewing. As many folks in the photo showing the American Flag on the wrong side of the stage, NOT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SPECKER as it should be. But keep working on the reflections as we try and learn "MIRROR" in adobe Elements.

      Hi Dog Man, the Mirror Image is the Sky which is Mirrored from the top half of the image onto the bottom half of the image. The lettering is put on top of the mirrored image and is not mirrored.

      @@HTGGeorge YES, and reflecting the image of the SKY. Take the name DRIAM and look at the letters through a Mirror and they would appear as "MAIRD" But following your steps in part did help me to find what I needed to make my fix. On the top left menu clicking on IMAGE, then ROTATE and then FLIP HORIZONTAL, which gave me the MIRROR Image I was looking for so thanks.

      @@dogman1264 Hi Dog Man, it all depends on how you hold the image up to a mirror. If you take a picture and place one side of it up against a mirror you will get the mirrored image as I show in the video. That is how smooth water will mirror the sky. If you turned the picture around and faced it to the mirror you would get the image as you are saying. So you are flipping the image already by flipping the original before showing it to the mirror. Both are correct, and both are mirroring an image. A reflection is a type of mirrored image. That is what mirrors do, they reflect the light. I could go into great detail on angles of reflection plus refraction caused by the glass in front of the mirrored surface in a mirror, but that really isn't important here. But to prove it to your self, just give it a try. Take a landscape photo, or even text if you like and put one edge against a mirror, then take that same photo and hold it facing the mirror. You will see that the reflection is different depending on how the original image is being viewed in a mirror.
