I just had the same realization about my cat, Cumhdach, and how much trust he has in me because of the things I was able to do when he was recently 😢sick. He voiced his displeasure, but he didn't fight me. I was fully expecting some unintentional battle wounds but didn't end up with a single scratch. This lesson has been kicking my tail. 18 yrs with a narcissist and just realized it a yr ago. Still unlearning and rewiring those areas in me that allowed such treatment. Balancing the anger for his behavior with the ownership of my own wounds that prevented me from recognizing what was happening for SO long. Brutal lessons. But thankful for the healing that the fake relationship has sparked in me. I picked Pile 2 and it didn’t make sense to me until Sunday when one of my coworkers revealed himself to be one of these types of ppl and it confirmed that a few of them are like this.
