This is rad, very well done! None of the other videos I’ve seen have gone into the extension shaft assembly properly! Incidentally I forgot my snap ring at the synchro on my last attempt somehow and trashed a couple things so your video has been hugely helpful for seeing what parts I need
I followed your whole video, a few pieces were different in my 94 F-body T56 but still same order of parts. After putting the main case back on I couldn't get the 4/5 guide bolt to line up, I had to pull the case back off and make sure that the 4/5 slot was 12.5" up off the midplate surface, otherwise the pin wouldn't go in. Plus since I didn't have a "spare" 5/6 gearset to drive the speedo gear back on, I just used 1.25" metal tubing with plastic end caps from Home Depot, then a board+hammer on top like you did. My OPS is a Viper so 1.29" diameter versus the "standard" 1.175".
I am having problem with my t56 reverse. It grind when it cold and hard shift after warm up. I already change, reverse gear, blocker ring, flip reverse synchro mesh, and new clutch kits. What else could be wrong? Every other gear work except reverse. I have shut vehicle everytime going reverse.
Hmm the only thing you didn’t mention was the reverse gear shift fork pads. If those are missing or severely worn, you won’t be able to fully engage the gear. Assuming you put everything back together correctly I’m not sure.
@richphippsgarage I already change reverse shift fork and pads. When I took tail housing out, I saw one of billet key missing ring on reverse synchro mesh, but I don't know if that causing it to reverse. Seem like someone did some work on it before me, but trying figure out why difficult to reverse. Sure clutch not dragging.

Hey @matthewsmotorsport, thanks for watching! I’m stoked that the video helps you out and good luck with your rebuild!

Thanks! Glad that it helps!
Sweet man I have a t56 out of a fbody camaro imma try and rebuild it myself, probably going to order the tick performance kit
Nice! My only advice is, stay organized! This was my first trans rebuild and it ended up being easier (mostly) than I expected.
