  • D-lab recently purchased this piece of equipment for tube amplifier frequency response measurements. A great piece of instrumentation, however the display was weak. I decide to make an investment into a new display. Boy was I glad I did. The analyzer looks like new, maybe better. If you want to perform this task, see simmconnlabs.com for info. Well worth the money

Glad to see this available. Those HP digital displays were real dogs. I worked with them back in the 90s. Even then a replacement display was over a grand (US), then HP just dropped all support on them. I saw several spectrum analyzers just junked because you couldn't get a new display. I remember thinking about modding in an LCD display.... shoulda followed through.

Well it sure is legible now, always a plus..... Should be interesting to SEE the differences in the sound of different amplifiers... Good stuff, cant wait.

hey man nice video, do you have an idea about how you could extract data ( excel files of FRF, FFT or anything interesting ) with HP-IB connector in the back?

You did a great job "displaying" how easy a the upgrade is...LOL Technology certainly has shrunk stuff down!!

Terry, thanks for the video. So you have been running this LCD display on your 3562A for a while now. Have you encountered any problems, strange behaviours or display issues? The CRT on my unit is actually pretty good but it is just a matter of time.... thanks.

WTG Terry, nice toy. Us poor folk gotta use a HFT free multimeter, LOL. But for a pro, it's a must have that pays for itself. It will be kewl to "see" the specs. But will it wash the clothes? Don

You said the new display was in full color, why did it only come up at the end with the green on black lettering?

The display has 2 modes, full color and traditional. See info on the web

Your videos are rubbing off on me. But I had to give up on finding Leader's SWEMAR unit. I did find an HP 3562A for $325 today and bought it. It is supposed to be in great working order and shouldn't need the LCD upgrade right away. It would be great if you did a video showing the various things you use it for on amps and how you actually configure it.

Will do Sir. I have 2 of the Swemars here. If you decide that you want one, let me know. TD

I completed the LCD upgrade 3562A. Wow what a difference. Doesn't make it feel like such an old instrument. Your video was very helpful. Thanks
