    I’ve just gotta say, the number of Portland fans who have said “this makes me sad, but I’m happy for dame and I hope he wins one. Go bucks” makes me respect the hell out of that fan base. I can completely understand the sentiment. As a bucks fan, is Giannis ever decides to leave, I will respect that decision and cheer for whatever team he goes to. A lot of bucks fans feel the same. the fan bases are very similar in that regard. So not only do I hope the bucks win a chip for my own selfish reasons, but I know a lot of blazers fans will feel like that’s partly their championship too. I’m hoping they can pull it off.

    I know this may not be the first thing we should consider when we talk about sports, but the personalities are always important. Lillard and Giannis are very competitive but are also very reasonable players. They do what needs to be done, without so much as sacrificing the good spirit of the team. Bringing their talents together makes enough sense, but these two getting along well will be the deciding factor.

It makes me incredibly sad to see everything that’s happened the past 2 years, I’m honestly glad to have this whole saga over with. The rumor about Dame saying he would stay if Miami didn’t work out and Cronin saying no does make it sting a little more. But honestly I’m glad he went to the Bucks I wouldn’t have loved rooting for Miami and couldn’t have rooted for the Celtics or 76ers too strongly, I also think they have a better chance of winning than Miami and I am a Damian Lillard fan which now makes me a Bucks fan (Blazers still #1 though)! Having a third option that doesn’t NEED the ball in Khris Middleton and having fringe scorers and defenders like Pat Connaughton, Jae Crowder, Bobby Portis, and even someone like Marjon Beauchamp. • @NintyPrime
      @NintyPrime Рік тому +15

      Yup, and Horst did the right thing in not consulting Giannis on trading Jrue. Giannis words after the trade... he f'ing loves Jrue Holiday. Like a brother. He talked about how F'ing amazing he is as a person on but even more so off the court, and that Jrue has become his brother for life. There are zero scenarios where Giannis would have been comfortable ever signing off on trading Jrue. But the same is also true if they traded Middleton instead.
      Horst had to pull the trigger without Giannis knowing Jrue was on his way out. Realistically there was no way to do the trade salary wise without Jrue or Khris leaving.
      But. Giannis statements were as clear as they were when they traded for Jrue. I love it in Milwaukee. Of course I want to play there for life. But I don't want to play there and never win a title again, I want to be competing for one every season.
      This trade was a move to do that.
      It sucks for the Bucks too, because just this past march Giannis was all in on bucks for life. They had the #1 overall record in the NBA. That first round exist really, really bothers him. He finds it unacceptable that his team can't get out of the first round even if he's hurt. With Dame, I think for the most part if Giannis was hurt again they could get through with him, Khris, and Brook.
      Anyways, as heartbroken as Giannis is over Jrue, he cannot question the Bucks commitment to titles. They just traded for a bonafide superstar that is the next best thing to Steph who is under team control for FOUR MORE YEARS.

    Giannis doesn't care about being the best or most prolific on the team. If Middleton can become the Middleton pre-surgery, Giannis doesnt care about letting Khris or Damian take the lead. Giannis is here to collect rings, not MVPs. Its something players like Harden didnt realize until it was too late in their careers of what should be a priority. Lets see how this deadly trio turns out.

Dame's numbers last season have only ever been done by three other players in NBA history, one of them including MJ. Giannis's numbers were so absurd that the closest player was Wilt Chamberlain 57 years ago. There's literally never been two players who averaged 30 PPG and then played together the next season ever. So if that isn't insane scoring ability then idk what is. Playmaking ability I mean the video already references their crazy BPM (which literally depends on the quality and contribution to the team from play-by-play regression) but just watch any Giannis highlights. Literally his championship winning year he pulled off so many insane plays to help them win. Dame consistently is hitting insane game winners and half court shots year over year.
