Do NOT End Your Lawn Season - Until You Do These 3 Things!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 жов 2021
- It’s COLD outside! And our Lawns are definitely starting to Feel it!
In this video, I will how you how to keep your lawn as healthy as possible by preparing it for the winter. This process is known as winterizing your lawn and it only requires a few simple steps. Winterizing your lawn will ensure you have a healthy green lawn come the spring time.
The 1st step to winterizing your lawn is to fertilize it one last time before the winter. By fertilizing grass in fall, you’re feeding the roots and giving them nutrients to store for winter. Many sources say to apply a heavy fertilizer application of 1 lb of nitrogen per 1ksft at the end of the season but research has shown that nitrogen uptake is much lower at the end of the season. My recommendation is to apply one last light application of FAST RELEASE fertilizer. If you are using a liquid lawn fertilizer i recommend a quarter pound of Nitrogen per thousand sqft and if your using a granular fertilizer i recommend applying between a quarter pound and half pound of nitrogen per thousand sqft OR 1/3 the bag rate.
The 2nd step to wintering your lawn is to control the broadleaf weeds. When you're getting the lawn ready for the harsh winter weather, you want to control the weeds as much as possible because weeds compete for nutrients with the rest of your lawn. The most common weeds that are attacking our lawns now are broadleaf weeds such as dandelions, thistle and chickweed. Broadleaf weeds are vulnerable right now because they send energy down to roots and applying a herbicide now will kill the crown of the plant reducing the amount of energy that can be stored in the roots over winter.
The 3rd step to winterizing your lawn is to mow your lawn lower than usual. Mowing your lawn low right before winter will help it healthy throughout the colder months and prevent it from matting down and holding moisture. If you dont keep the lawn short before winter it can develop snow mold.
Contest open to everyone in the continental US.

To put the lawn to bed for the season, I normally give it a shorter cut, then a nice bath and then read it a couple of stories before tucking it in for the long sleep.
LOL thanks for the morning laugh 😂😂😂
So ive done it both ways. When i left it longer it was greener when spring came around. But i do like getting all the trash out of the yard before closing the season down.
did u
This is my first year doing my own lawncare... and I'm loving the deep color of my lawn and how just a little love and attention keeps it greener and more lush than most of my neighbors' lawns. Loving the autumn domination!
I remember the first time i threw down fert and saw the results i was HOOKED
sounds similar to your story:) Thanks for watching!
Aviano Lawn Care here in Italy 🇮🇹. I like going just about 1/2 inch shorter than normal, a small shot of liquid iron and potassium. My lawn will look good all winter.
Nice work George, there is no one way to treat your lawn before it shuts down. I’m thankful I can keep going all year and don’t have to worry about a winterizing. 😎🌴👊
@SoCal….dude, i live in Northern Virginia. I wish I could say “I don’t have to worry about a winterizing” 🤣🤣🤣
Actually from September to November, and even sometimes up to middle December, northern Virginia lawns are super nice and super green 😎
thanks! you lucky son of a gun!
@@teamclarktrackfield Me and cold don’t get along. I give you guys all the credit, takes bravery to deal with snow and cold weather. 😂
Never fails bro, your videos are of great value to the lawn community. I usually take my height down from 3.75 to 3 maybe just a little under. Then I throw down 1/2 lbs of N. I've never used a fungicide going into winter for snow mold but thinking about trying it this year.
Thanks terry! means alot bud!
Thanks for all the comments this season, youve been an awesome friend and viewer
I love the satisfaction of mulching the leaves into the grass and soil....free fert and great addition to the soil!
Yes indeed!
I'm a newbie to lawn care, and I'm not gonna lie, I enjoy your videos.
Thank you counsel much appreciated!
Thanks for the tips.I just got started in lawn care. For years I just kept it mowed and trimmed, but now I finally have more time and energy to do yard work. This fall, I sprayed 2-4D,and used fertilizer.Fingers crossed for a nice lawn next season.Pretty excited to see if I can get it looking good.
sounds like your on the right track, good luck my friend!
This time of the year it’s major leaf clean up then I will do a winterizer application using 1/2 the recommended rate two times over 2-3 weeks. It’s like a mini-spoon feed!
Great job on the videos! Love you channel!
thank you buddy! much appreciated!
I live in Texas and during the summertime I have a Bermuda grass lawn which is pretty nice. However in the beginning of November I convert my Bermuda lawn to a Ryegrass lawn. I’ve done this for two years now and it’s amazing that during the winter time, while my neighbors lawns are brown mine is the only green lawn in the neighborhood. I love lawn care.
Haha that’s hard core dude!
Hi Joe, I too live in TX, and have Bermuda, it has taken me 3 season of experimenting and watching this channel and others to get it weed free, GREEN, and short. Not to brag or anything but my goal was to make my lawn the best looking in the block. i have succeeded. I have been thinking about over seeding with Rye-grass but i am afraid it will ruin my Bermuda. When the Winter is over, does the Rye died out on its own? does Bermuda (being an alpha grass) take over the Rye as the weather warms up?
To winterize my lawn, I watch great videos like yours to learn something new!...mow low, feed slow! thanks!
Haha thanks buddy 😊
Thanks for all the advice this year, your channel is 🔥. For me, the best part of fall/winter fertilizer is looking back on the lawn journal I kept and seeing what work or didn't, and planning for next year.
Thanks bro much appreciated! and sounds like you got this on lock, journal and everything!
To winterize my lawn I love blowing and raking leaves. I know it sounds weird but in the fall and winter my neighbors lawns are covered in leaves and my trees are orange and yellow but with no leaves on the grass. It’s a really cool look. Makes me stand out from my neighbors and it only takes a few minutes in the morning and evening. Would love that striping kit.
I totally hear you on that!, i have a red maple in my front yard and when they start falling on the low cut lawn it looks magical!
I do the same!!!! everyone's lawns are cover with debris and leaves, mine is green and clean, although now (November 7th) its going dormant already.
Grass newbie here, first year I've been able to focus on the lawn. Nothing better than to see all the hard work we put into our lawns and everyone get to enjoy it. Thank u for the awesome content. Keep it up 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the nice comment my friend!
Just moved into a property with about 5,000 sf of lawn and trying to figure out what to do. Been following Scott’s program without significant success. Glad you are here to help.
Congrats on the new home!
Scott’s actually have really good products 👍
Just have to dial them in to get great results, if you ever have any questions feel free to ask anytime!
Another one… great tips as always!! I’ve never done heavy winterizer but come out of spring with a little more N for green up.
Thanks dude!
Your lawn is looking great! I enjoy your analysis and common sense when it comes to lawn care. My goal is to have a front yard that looks like yours. Looking forward to next year already.
Appreciate it Leo!

Some of the better music choices in the lawn community! Usually hit it with some lime and potassium as needed and based on a soil test to get through the winter months. Thanks for the content.
Thanks buddy, love the lawn content out there but not so much the music lol
Mine can be a all over the place sometimes but i have fun with it:)
This my first year in my new house so it's my first year dealing with fall lawn work I just watch your videos and learn thanks for the help!!
Congrats on the new home!
Great content! I've just been going through getting a final edging done before winter and mowing lower. I applied my last round of fertilizer early October, hoping that will hold me over through winter.
Thanks buddy! what fert are you gonna use?
George, great video. I love to put down whatever fertilizer I have left over or buy the cheap east clearance product available.
thanks dude and nice choice! i really like the generic menards fertilizer, for the money cant beat it
can we all take a moment and talk about how F@#ing amazing those stripes look? i mean...wow!
George, you are so cool. I audibly said to an empty house, "I love how much this guy loves his lawn." Keep being a light!
Haha thanks Jeanelle, appreciate the nice compliment 😊
I like to lay down on the lawn after giving it a good cut at the end of the season and talk about all the good times we had. The ups and the downs we went through as I gently run my fingers through the blades of grass. My neighbors look at me oddly for some reason though.
Sounds like a cute relationship you have there, I like it!
Good video bro. I love that there are varied approaches to lawns and lawn care. 👍
Thanks AL!
That means LCN doesn’t agree 😂
@@InDatParish haha i got a couple of "these" comments this season 😂 , love ya al!
@@InDatParish I didn't mean it to come off that way but I see how it does lol 😂
Don’t mind him, datparish is a joker 😂
Good guy tho 👍
First season lawn owner here in Chicagoland area after doing a full lawn renovation to turf type tall fescue and been loving it compared to what I started with! Keeping up with the fertilizer applications will be a must and laying down as much nitrogen as I can before the snow hits will be my plan along with cutting it lower than normal! Whisper sweet nothings to it and hope that come spring it comes back to life!
Congrats on the new home neighbor!
George, I just bought a new home in September, moved in October 1st. Before I found your channel I had ordered a brand new Honda HRX217. But ever since watching your videos, I ended up getting an affordable little reel mower and have not even opened the Honda 😂. I get some looks from neighbors and passing cars. But my lawn is one of the best looking lawns on the block! I’m still glad I purchased the Honda. It may be a collectible in a few years!
Haha that’s awesome to hear!
I still have an hrx 217 and it def has a place in the garage. It comes in handy for a lot of things:)
But there’s nothing like that reel cut!
As always, thanks for the tips George! My bottle of Speedzone actually just got delivered last week. Gonna wait til the trick or treaters are gone before applying. Do you think it would be helpful at all to apply Tenacity now as well? I live in Ohio. I have one last round of fertilizer to drop then the only lawncare this winter I will be doing is buying more goodies.
thanks dude! no tenacity now only speedzone, tenacity only works well in the 70 to 80 degree range, good luck!
I've never done any real winterizing of my lawn before. Watching your channel to help me out. Just re-did a lot of my back yard (adding 14 yards of dirt). Want to make sure the time and money doesn't go to waste so thanks for all the info you provide! You do an awesome job!
wow i know that was a big project!
and thank you my friend!
New lawn in front and just hit with 1lb N. .35 AMS .65 lbs N Urea. Threw whatever I had down on the back. Scott’s turf builder at bag rate.
Killer combo!
This year I said was my last hurrah at trying to get my lawn back and by watching your videos has definitely worked. I have 2 small kids and wanted a lawn that they can play on. I am doing like you suggested, mowing low, I just did my weed control and winterizer fertilizer. Having that striping kit would be awesome! Thanks for the help either way.
Its the missing piece that will make it POP good luck!
Thanks for all the lawn tips. We moved into this house two years ago and the lawn was in rough shape(in my opinion), but after following your tips, it is looking much better this year.
So happy to hear! Thanks for sharing!
Before winter hits, I like to aerate the lawn and oversees to strengthen the lawn and fill in any patches. About a month after the seed was given a chance to grown, I mow the lawn down to 2” and spread winter guard weed and seed to give the lawn nutrients and weaken the weeds enough from growing in the spring.
I just recently became a homeowner in the Pacifc Northwest and these kind of videos definitely help new lwn carer like my self! Thank you!
Congrats on the new home!
I am just a beginner, and this is the first time that I am "winterizing" my lawn, so I have no advice other than to get as much information as possible prior to doing it. Thanks for all of your hard work and entertaining videos.
Thanks best of luck to you in your lawn endevours!
I live in NE Ohio so I start with aerating and over seeding using an athletic turf blend of KBG and fescue the first week of September, I put down a starter fertilizer 5 days after over seeding and my lawn came in thick and dark green. The second week of October I put down my winterizer and two weeks later followed up with Milorganite, I'll put down another application of Milorganite after Thanksgiving. Two weeks after over seeding I started cutting every 2-3 days to stimulate turf growth. I also lower my cutting height in October from 3.25" to 2.75" and on my final cut I'll cut at 2.25". I've been doing this for the last few years and my lawn is very green until the snow starts falling and in spring as soon as temps start rising it comes alive and is dark green.
Nice! what specific seed did you use?
Yesterday I threw down some Scott’s winter guard, lightning lime, and sprayed down some root ruckus. She’s ready for the winter!
Nice sounds like you got this under control!
I enjoy overseeding my warm season lawn with cool season grass for the winter.
oh man your a die hard!
Dude, your videos are some of most entertaining lawn videos on the internet 👏👏👏
Haha thanks dude that compliment means a alot 😊
George, thanks for all the tips and techniques. I am a first-time homeowner, and really take caring for my lawn seriously. Your videos help me out so much. Very grateful. Happy Birthday on Sunday! Enjoy your family and friends.
Anytime bennet! Appreciate the birthday wishes!
And congrats on the new home 🎉
I put down new sod the first week of October so I fertilized with triple 12 at half the recommended rate. I’m happy I did. Between the fertilizer and ton of rain we got I couldn’t keep up cutting the lawn it grew so fast.
the rain lately has been treating us well!
I live down here south (Texas) with St Augustine. My fall / winter prep is mostly a high potash fertilizer, pre emergent, and some humic / kelp. Ground rarely freezes here so I irrigate like every 2 weeks during winter.
My favorite winter practice is cutting low. The ground stay warmer long and the grass appears to hold color longer into the season. It also makes for less dead material to cleanup come springtime. I hope the lawn striping kit finds a nice home.
I hope so too! good luck to you sir!
I have learned the importance of mowing shorter before the snow hits. My perennial ryegrass lawn is very susceptible to snow mold. Winterize, mow short and dont forget to put driveway markers into the lawn before it freezes to prevent UPS and FedEx from driving all over your lawn!
I really like that last tip!
Gonna have to try that out!
I don’t know what I like to do yet since I just got my first house and finally have a lawn! Love the videos! Hope I win so I can have the best lawn on the street!
Congrats on the new home!
Detaching aeration overseeding top dressing Pete moss starter ferterlizer n lime tenacity. finally the last fall/winter ferterlizer application love your videos bro thank you 😊 🙏
Thanks for all your advice this year, George! My lawn has never looked better. After aerating & overseeing 3 weeks ago, I have applied 2 micro-applications of starter fertilizer, been mulching the leaves every 4 days, and taken grass height from 3 to 2 inches. BTW...1st season using Speedzone/Tenacity herbicide "cocktail" 🍸...great advice, pal!! Got rid of so many weeds, which has created a great growing environment for my grass.
Awesome so happy to hear! its a good feeling transforming the lawn!
Great as always, George! I throw down a high N fert (mix of fast and slow release) late Sept and slowly start bringing down the height of cut. Then in Nov I’ll throw down the same fert. Lawn seems to “wake up” quicker in spring for me. Lawns are great because as long as you take care of them (there are so many ways to do this successfully) they will love you back. Take care brother!
Thanks bro, much appreciated!
always good havin ya stop by!
Great video, I live in AZ and so we typically plant “winter rye” grass over our Bermuda to extend the deep green grass season since our winters don’t really freeze. I just finished planting and it just came in this past week. Over the past year I got a tiff reel McClane mower and am in love with it and getting a nice low mow on my Bermuda. Literally mow 3 times a week to keep it nice and short. Think of me for your give away! I would love a lawn striper!
I personally don’t touch weeds this time of year. If there are some, I’ll hand pull. Most of time the cooler temperatures and freezes take care of them. Great video and tips.
Thanks chuck!
This is my first lawn so I’ve been following your advice and that’s what I’ll do before winter. 👍
Congrats on the home my friend!
@@PrincessCutLawnCare thank you for giving me the best lawn in the neighborhood.
Appreciate the advice George. This will be my first season winterizing my lawn. Wish me luck!
You got this!, good luck my friend- thanks for watching!
I'm new to the lawn game and love the cool season lawn videos. I've been doing .25 lbs of nitrogen every 10-14 days and wow my lawn looks great. I'm excited to see what it will look like in the spring.
Awesome! been doing the same spoon feeding regime this season. The results speak for them self.
thanks for watching and welcome to the lawn game!
The steps I take are to aerate and fertilize the lawn as autumn starts, and then trim the lawn fairly low once the average low temperatures fall into the mid-40s and the visible growth has slowed considerably down. Thank you for your videos which help me fine tune my lawn care decisions!
No prob buddy! thanks for stopping by
Same here, first time newbie learning but so far I used Scott's fall care. Thanks bro!
scotts fert is great! i really like their small prills
Thanks for sharing George! I’m still learning but last year I had lots of matting and dead leaves that made for an ugly spring so I’ll be focusing on keeping the grass trimmed and free of the dead leaves.
No problem! You will see a lot less of that keeping it low
All great points, another as others have mentioned is keeping leaves off the lawn before the snow comes. This will be my first winter with the lawn and I’m looking forward to seeing how it will look post my fall reno. 👍🏻
its gonna look great!
Thanks George. Got my grass 100% better than last year, so doing weekly light N+K granular until my frost date and keeping the leaves mulched and clean.
Thanks! and awesome to hear!
I usually like to have my kids run around as much as possible to make sure every grass blade has been stepped on and killed….. why? So I can repeat your videos and start the growth of new grass blades in the spring! Yowza! Keep up the good work.
haha your too kind:)
Great Stuff. I just did all the same things. I had some problems with clover and creeping Charlie after a renovation. I got most under control now. I think a nice clean short cut is key for avoiding damage come spring time.
This was my first year getting into lawn care. I did a full kill in the spring, renovation (Midnight KBG and HGT turf) and all went well aside from a few bare spots. A second overseeding happened in fall and it came in nicely. Unfortunately I think I got hit by some fungus - caused a few patches in the lawn. We've had torrential rain and so I haven't had a chance to mow low yet but will be very soon. Thanks for the tips.
Its a great feeling when you just start out and see the results of your hard work!
There will always be a few bumps in the road or i should say "lawn" but nothing we cant overcome, good luck!
I’ll be doing my 1st winterizing this year!! Thanks to you!!!
Awesome happy to hear!
I’m still tinkering with my winter plan, I overseeded and fertilized near the end of sept. Now I need to get one more app of fertilizer down and give it a final cut and then a leaf cleanup.
Very helpful, thank you! This is my first year in lawn care, and I did a lot of, uh, learning this first year. Here in warm season territory, I grew some bare spots in my brand new St. Augustine by using too much fast-acting N in the summer, and tried to fix it by applying... more fast-acting N. And of course, overusing herbicides. Live and learn. Winterizing plan is hand-picking as much as I can so I don't stress my baby out further, some Prodiamine as pre-emergent, and fertilizing with high K to keep the roots strong until I can give it a proper nursing back to health in spring.
great tip on hand picking the weeds!
About a month ago I aerated the lawn really well and over seeded, then mother nature took care of the rest. It rained every day for the next 10 days and man is my lawn standing tall right now! Looks like I need to apply a bit of fertilizer and spray some broadleafs and call it a season. Thanks for all the tips and info for a beautiful lawn! And happy early birthday!!🎉🎉🥳
Thank you for the birthday wishes!
Sounds like your doing a great job so far!
I used the 18-0-1 GreenePunch as a winterizer last season and I think it worked great. I'll be doing that again this year. Well done George. Great tips. 👊🏼
Thanks nate! its great stuff, lawn is looking excellent
@@PrincessCutLawnCare I'm glad you're enjoying it. I know you were a little apprehensive about liquids.
@@PacificNorthwestLawns key word... "was" LOL
Great video! Thanks for all your awesome content! I really improved my lawn this year. Over the past few months, I dethatched, overseeded, applied top soil and compost on more bare areas, and fertilized several times. Would love a striping kit!
its the missing piece that will make it POP, good luck!
I wish I could tell you what I do for my winterizing but I just learning and watching you is helping... Thanks!
haha we all gotta start some where good luck!
I did my first winterizer app last fall and my spring lawn was AMAZING. I was shocked at how much it helped. I also try to mulch my leaves as much as I can to get that organic material in the lawn.
great tip on the leaves, so many ppl leave them on the lawn in my neighborhood:(
You mulch it and leave it on the lawn right?
@@bobinmeister yeah. I just let my mower chew it up. Makes for easy leaf cleanup.
Awesome content as always! I’ve been taking more of a spoon feeding approach this fall than I did last year, and after the 12-12-12 starter fert I used for overseed, been using some higher N & K to push the lawn but also help prep it for stress!
Thanks for sharing!
I’m putting down a low amount of fertilizer and I’m bringing my grass down a bit and praying for the best lol 😂
I do pretty much what you showed ,it's worked for me for years . But i have added the speedzone treatment this year.👍 Thank's
Love these short form tip videos. Clear and simple explanations. Saved me from going heavy on the expensive nutes.
thanks bud, i try to respect ppls time and get to the point
Me and the other neighborhood dads spend the last few hours before trick or treat yesterday laying down some spooky stripes as a Halloween flex. And a final round of fertilizer to make sure you’ve got thanksgiving domination green is the recipe for a happy hibernation for the lawn. Don’t forget to winterize your equipment either!
Flexing on those trick r treaters!
I like that!
Good reminder about winterizer ig the equipment, I still gotta do that my self 😂
This is my first year with the new lawn. So this is great info. Thanks for the great videos

Thank you for the insight! I’m new to all of this and was about to lay a decent amount of the red bag. Thank you for sharing your expertise and personality! Keep it up!
Thank you niky!
The red bag is actually really good stuff!
I would still apply about half the bag rate
What I like to do to winterize is apply the heavy granular which was 3 weeks back here in VA and once every other week spoon feed via quick release. I did a entire lawn reno started Aug killed off all grass and in late September apply a great quality seed. So far it’s amazing and I only have a few bare spots due to trees falling and debris being under the soil. I’ll fix that during the spring along with any lingering weeds. Grass is only over a month old and it looks amazing and used some of your tips and tricks thanks so much!
Happy to hear your project went well! what seed did you use???
@@PrincessCutLawnCare tall fescue three high end varieties from newsome seed out of Maryland very very great seed. Glad I took the time out and we just got our first frost but soil temperature are still a steady 55 degrees or higher.
I research every year and adjust accordingly. Thanks for the great information. I was going to go heavier on the ‘N’ fertilizer, but thanks to your video it will be a light application!
sweet! curious to how it will compare to your past methods, keep me updated!
Before this year it was just a winterizer, after your vid, I'll be cutting it a bit shorter too! Great video!
This year I aerated and over seeded, put down some 13-13-13 fertilizer at seeding. Watered and let it go for about four weeks. Mowed it high and put down more 13-13-13 along with some granular pre-emergent and Propiconazole . Need another mow to get it down a bit shorter before the cold hits. That stripe kit would be sweet on my recycler. 😎
it would! i hope we can get it out to ya!
Thanks for sharing!
Great content. Im new to lawn care and didn’t know what to do, but now I know thanks to you!
Awesome! So happy to hear! Welcome 🤗
Thanks for all the tips this season. Your videos helped me out a lot as a first time home owner and this being my 1st season of lawn care. I've been doing a nitrogen blitz with a granular fertilizer at about .5 N every 2 weeks. I'm also in the Chicago suburbs and just been mowing. It seems we've only got maybe 2 weeks left
Hey wassuop neighbor!!!
Definitely like mowing low always a good feeling right after and you look at your lawn after
haha gotta enjoy those last moments!
New homeowner, with a newly planted yard. Don’t want put down anything on the baby grass before the winter because I already put down a pre emergent and starter fertilizer at planting. What I’m doing is just good old fashion hand pulling weeds and trying to get another cut in.
your on the right track!
Love your very detailed video’s brother. In fall my process is very simple. Dethatch, overseed, fertilize and water like crazy since in California there hasn’t been so much rain over a few years now. Thank you for awesome contents and keep up the good work.
Thanks Moe! much appreciated brother!
Thank you for all the tips and tricks, my lawn is looking great after overseeing. Cant wait for spring.
Anytime dude! What seed did you overseed with??
@@PrincessCutLawnCare I got a bag of Barenbrug TTTF at Menards (50% Flame / 50% inferno) mixed in about 10% of a random kbg mix. I am not sure what the builders put in last fall but it didnt really take for anyone in the neighborhood. We have super compacted clay soil so I aerated and rented an overseeder.
You should do a video about using an overseeder, not many videos on using them that I found helpful. It was a blast to use and I believe it really helped.
I have followed your channel since being a new home owner. For my fall prep I am planning to apply the fast releasing fertilizer, treat weeds and do a last short cut 🤙🏼
Great to hear carlos! appreciate you always watching!
I love watching your videos. I honestly have never cut low prior to the winter. I am going to give it a whirl this year for sure! Keep up the great content.
Thanks Jake!
Give it a shot, you will be happy come spring:)
I new to lawn work but getting great tips from your channel to implement for winter. Def going enjoy using my storm backpack to spray herbicide.
Awesome rudy! you have the strom sprayer? did you get it from gci?
To winterize my lawn...idk I'm literally just getting started today taking care of a sizeable lawn. Here to learn. And maybe get a striping kit 😇
Great video George !! Love it …”Less is more and a light mist is best”. Perfect brother.
Thanks scott! appreciate you always stopping by this season!
Means a lot bud:)
Good video, I have been spoon feeding my lawn ½lb of N per 1000sqft to get it ready for winter.
same here 1/4lb per week
I am doing exactly what you put in the video plus a per-emergent to stop some of these winter weeds from coming up since I'm in a very warm climate.
Nice! Sounds like you have a great plan in place 👍
This will be my first winter with my lawn. I put down some fungicide and after a week, I will mow it low and think about spring. Ha. Thanks for the honest content.
Sounds great! and no problem!
This is my first full year with the KBG lawn, overseeded and 12 12 12 now dropping mower one notch every few days to bring it down to 1 inch.
excellent!
Great video George
I like to clean the leaves, and spoon feed all fall about half pound of N every 2 weeks
My lawn use to look horrible, started doing this 2 years ago and made a huge difference
Happy early bday!!!
Sounds great! surprisingly my red leaf maple hasnt started falling yet but soon!
glad to hear you change things around! i bet that 2 years flew by!
Love your videos. You've helped me a lot in my lawn reno. As for what I do to prepare for winter, in early fall I put down an initial fertilizer and weed control to get my lawn thickened up. Mid fall I put down my pest control and fungicides to keep the lawn healthy. And in late fall I throw down the final treatment of Scotts weed and feed. I find that it is usually enough to get me through the winter and green up in the spring.
sweet! what seed did you use in your reno??
I do pre emergent, kill off any weeds, apply fast release fertilizer and mow and mow and mow. Still growing strong in DFW Texas.
wow still goin huh? thats awesome!
We’ll done. Turf color looks fantastic!
Appreciate it rus!
