V (Taehyung) loves Jazz and R&B. He loves old movies and classic fashion too. He also loves taking pictures with old film cameras and his photography is really good. He was raised by his grandmother. He is just the sweetest, most gentle and soft-spoken guy, but also quirky and a weirdo in the best ways. He has the most dry and deadpan sense of humor too and is kind of innocent in certain ways. He has this child-like way about him, where the world seems full of wonderous things that he is always exploring and delighted in it all. Jimin, who is his best friend, calls him "My Alien" because he is like this fey creature from another planet who finds humans and the earth just delightful and fascinating. He makes friends easily and is very easy going. In the music he writes, he tends to reference nature a lot, like RM does. His songs for his album Layover he didn't write himself though, but he has written some amazing songs. V has a live jazz performance he did as a present for ARMY in 2023 with two cover songs. It's called Le Jazz de V. The visuals in this MV are related to the theme of the album. There is an MV for every track on this album. He uses songs about love, loss and longing to tell a story about a romance on the surface, but really about wanting to create a virtual world to run away to where he can be together with BTS and ARMY. Taehyung really loves the idea of spending quality time intimately with ARMY as well as BTS. All the guys do really. Tae set up a show appearance recently where he met a single ARMY and spent the whole day having a friend date, going to an arcade they bought out, eating together, doing a photobooth, talking, etc. The album name, Layover, means a stop along the way of a larger and longer journey, just a waypoint. This is how he was thinking of this solo time and his (at the time) upcoming military enlistment and separation from BTS and ARMY. They are just a stop along the way of his journey as an artist and with his Bangtan brothers and ARMY. As an aside, V/Tae went into Special Forces, like SWAT/Black Ops, a Counter Terror Unit that is one of the hardest in the military. The president of S Korea complimented him on his incredible marksmanship when he visited their training camp. He recently posted that he has already put on 10 Kilos in training. In this MV there is a Peter Pan feel happening, with the timelessness of the B&W and soft color tones, the tall ship, the hidden cove, the sort of gang of Lost Boys/Girls, and magical elements and whimsy of the setting like the magic jellyfish and bugs, the sky full of moving light, the fruit in the sea. You can see that he is creating the scene in a virtual lab that is retro tech and a bit atomic punk. You see spots of light on his face and body numerous times like motion capture technology. He looks into various devices to see the scenes and has the landscape set up in miniature in his lab. He pulls a rope in his lab and it shifts to the scene of the sail raising on the ship as the rope is pulled. He goes into a box to capture his dancing and you can see a tiny figure lit up in the foreground of the lab copying his moves as he uploads them. Everything corresponds to what is happening in the lab. You also see a computer in the simulation on the beach running what appears to be code. None of the other people are real, they are virtual. When they take the group photo in the car, pause on the picture, everyone is him. In his MV for Rainy Days you can see him working on paperwork with what looks like code or equations and plans, perhaps planning his simulation? In that MV he is also alone and seems depressed and frustrated, singing about loss and longing, but also creating with paint and sculpting and whatever the paperwork is, so perhaps all things related to his simulation. His dog Yeontan is hidden in the clouds and on the landscape in the MV. Yeontan is also on the album cover for Layover and also appears (or rather a body double of his dog as he filmed all the MVs in Spain and did not fly Yeontan in for them) in Rainy Days and Blue and he brought the real Yeontan onstage for his M Countdown live performance in S Korea.
I would highly recommend V's tiny desk performance. He performs Slow Dancing and 2 other songs from his album Layover. It's an intimate performance with a live band. Also if you weren't aware V stands for victory.
@@ReactionsThatRock When they first debuted, they were doing pre-debut vlogging and blogging but V was hidden. Big Hit was broke and doing anything they could to build buzz around their new (only) group because they lacked advertising funds. Tae was a surprise member who was unveiled at their debut. When they were deciding on stage names, he chose something mysterious, accordingly. So he became V. Not all of them wanted stage names. The other vocalists don't have them. Jungkook and Jimin are just Jungkook and Jimin, and Seokjin used his nickname, Jin. But V is a big fan of the rap line (possibly their biggest fan in the world.) The fact that all of the rappers had pseudonyms might have influenced him.
V did a Tiny Desk Concert with a live band, where he performed three songs from his album, including this song. The flute solo here is replaced with an amazing saxophone solo. There are also two band sessions, with the same band, and he plays the saxophone at the end of one of them. He also has a video called "Le Jazz de V", where he covered two English jazz songs. I think the only significant image in the MV is the picture of a dog appearing on the hills, which represents Yeontan, his beloved dog. We use many different terms to refer to BTS as a whole. I usually call them the guys, the boys, the group, the team, the band, the Tannies, our kings. For the individual members, we usually use their real names or nicknames when we talk among ourselves. I usually call V as Tae or Taehyung.
Awesome info! In today's day and age (and with the East/West culture) I'm always hoping my ignorance doesn't offend. I've also REALLY got to check out the live versions. This is soooo smooth. It's got a real throwback vibe with a slight modern edge. Despite being a rock/metal guy, I did play Trombone (go figure) in school and in a touring Ska band (yep.) and have a love for orchestral instruments in modern music! Thanks for pointing me in a direction to find more!
@@ReactionsThatRock- We always appreciate your cultural sensitivity. There must be an interesting story, going from the trombone to rock/metal LOL Speaking of orchestral instruments, BTS has a song called "Black Swan" and in addition to the usual MV, there's an art film where the MN Dance Company did a dance performance with the orchestral version of the song as the music. Several of V's solo songs feature an extended instrumental section, such as his "Winter Bear", where almost half the song is instrumental. Agust D also has an instrumental interlude called "Interlude: Dawn" in his D-Day album, a track the he produced himself.
@@biru-kelabu-0821 the story is a lot less interesting than one would hope. We grew up poor and my folks got a free trombone so it was mine to learn… and yes, I taught myself how to play Metallica on it!!! 🤪 The guitars and drums came later!!! Thanks for the recommendations! I cannot wait to check out more!
Thanks for the great reaction. V's real name is Kim Taehyung.... he was 17 when he debuted with BTS. For a Baritone in KPOP, V has widest vocal range (as per real vocal analysts) of Eb2 ~ C6 (3 octaves, 5 notes and 1 semitone), which means he can also hit high octaves with ease.... He is multitalented. A Singer, Dancer, Composer, Producer, Songwriter, Actor, Entertainer, Photographer, Artist, Painter.... a jazz lover he plays saxophone, piano, and learning violin and trumpet He is known as the Idol of Idols, and is studied for his stage presence and facial expressions. With regards to things referenced in the MV... his album tells a story and he recommends you watch the MVs in album order... there are 5 mvs. Have a great day 💜
As always, the greatest take away with any reaction video I do to the BTS guys is that I always watch the wrong video in the wrong order. I didn’t realize there were so many videos, or that a story was woven through them. That is so good to know. I really love this type of BTS lore. Stuff always seems deeper once you know what’s going on! And vocal range is insane!!!
@@ReactionsThatRockyes sir his range is insane since he tends to sing on bts songs in higher registers so in his album layover he is singing in his natural vocal range -and he hasn’t completely developed his lower register-. I suggest to watch V TINY DESK NPR with his TAE band, live performance you will love it, just quality music and the band is amazing !
Tiny desk Korea and Le Jazz de V are the best video to appreciate Taehyung/ V voice. I am a 65 old Spanish woman and I adore Tae/ V my favorite in BTS, but all guys are very talented. Thanks for your reaction 💜
50 year-old Army here! I love your reactions, they are always thoughtful, honest and reflective. I don't always drop a comment, but I've liked all your BTS videos and checked out a few other ;) Your genuine interest and curiosity is refreshing and infectious. Everyone has mentioned the Tiny Desk and separate Live Band sessions (cozy casual setting)and they are great. I think you'll love them. Each of the members chose to promote their solo albums differently and I love how V really showcased the musicians and vocalists on his tracks and gave them time to shine as well.
Thank you so much! This has been a journey for sure and I feel like I’ve literally just taken my first step! I’ve also gotta dig deeper in to Vs music. It’s a whole vibe I didn’t even know I needed!!!
V is creating memories of good times or a place having fun with friends at the beach…while missing girlfriend after a breakup ..💜..V on Tiny Desk Korea… live with R&B band…with saxophone musician…also V with a Live jazz band on Le Jazz de V…2 jazzy classic songs..🔥💜..V is neo soul, jazz, R&B ..wide vocal range …can do any genre …💜
I’m 48, and this song took me right back to 70’s AM radio - in a good way. Go ahead and just call them Bangtan. You are pronouncing it fine. Keep up the awesome videos!
I like your reactions and when your mouth has no brakes to say whatever comes to mind. Sometimes people mistakenly think that others have to like what we like with the same intensity, but we are not all the same, and it is difficult for us to accept that. I like that you are not politically correct, that you are sincere when telling us if you like the boys' songs or not. A hug from this 52-year-old Army from Chile
Thank you SOOOO much! Since I do these in one take and no edits, I have a tendency to let my loud mouth get the best of me sometimes. 🤪 People are passionate so when others don’t immediately share the passion it can feel like rejection. I talk about it a bit but it doesn’t bother me. I’d rather meet passionate people than zombies who don’t have emotions. Speaking of passion, Chilean food might be the best kept secret on the planet! I could eat nothing but humitas and choripán for the rest of my life and die a happy man!!!
I'm 64. I couldn't agree more when you said the member's music made you feel something. It's amazing that I don't understand Korean, but a lot of BTS music always gives me a special feeling.
@@ReactionsThatRockYes! The music itself usually reflects the song’s message in some way, or hints to “more”, like that there’s a connection between the songs “Save Me” and “I’m Fine”. I first realized it with Jimin’s BTS solo “Lie” but I have learned from more musically-versed ARMYs & reactors that it’s pretty common in their songs.
Timeless, that's a word that you can definitely use to describe V's music and he himself too. He is an old soul himself while retaining the child like wonder at the same time, and he has a way of conveying this in his music and MVs as well. All of the comments are talking about Le jazz de V, Tiny Desk and his band sessions, and I second that as well, cause he LOVES music and leaves a space for the musicians to shine as well, which creates an awesome atmosphere and makes enjoying the performance ten times better. Welcome to the rabbit hole, subbing for your journey
all his solo songs are timeless gems. laid back and beautiful. his voice is truly amazing. please check out his tiny desk performance and his entire album Layover. it's a masterpiece.
@@ReactionsThatRockthank you sir, Layover album is full of classic old school rnb, jazz but a touch of hip-hop, Lofi ❤ layover album is my comfort place
I adore him SO MUCH. Yoongi is my bias but Taehyung is my baby. His duality on and off stage is amazing. His music is completely my vibe, warm cocoa voice wrapped up in charming personality. 💜 Could listen to him all day.
Also in regards to the MV imagery, the biggest moment as it pertains to BTS/ARMY is the scene in the boat with the northern lights. V has requested that they go as a group together because he wants to experience the northern lights for the first time with his members. If you count the people on the boat, there are 6 + V for 7 total, representing the 7 members. It’s such a tiny detail but super heartfelt. I’m excited for you to continue on this journey and see them make magic as a group! I love the way you described how their individual stuff made you feel because they’ve said multiple times that that’s their goal in making music, to make people feel!
Awe! I love hearing that he wants to share the Northern Lights with the group! They all seem so down to earth! It’s really odd. I thought they were just a boy band and even after realizing they weren’t I didn’t expect to connect. I see they have a way of making the listener feel like the song is just for them. That’s some skill!!!
@@ReactionsThatRock to be fair, I just wanted to know their names back in 2017 and now here I am almost 7 years later! Folks tend to underestimate them, which makes it even more fun when they actually take a moment to stop and listen. They blow you away! I think it’s fully because they love and were saved by music in their own ways that they can create the same for us. Or maybe they’re wizards. Not sure but either way, I genuinely wouldn’t be the healthy thriving person I am today without them. ARMY has a saying within the fandom that BTS finds you exactly when you need to hear them most. For me, that was in the midst of a mental health crisis I was trying to push down and ignore. They helped me realize that asking for help wasn’t weakness and that I deserved a life without so much internal and emotional pain. I won’t be cheesy and say they saved me, but they opened my eyes and walked with me down the path to mental and emotional help and I’ll forever be grateful for them for that. I look forward to seeing what they have to say with their music that you might need to hear 💜💜💜
@@rachael02126 I’m so happy to hear that for you! Despite my gruff demeanor and bad dad jokes, I’m a huge proponent of mental health and worked with a lot of at risk youth in my younger years. Back in my DJ days I even organized “Safe Hangs” where kids could just go listen to live music with no drugs/alcohol/pressure. I’ve been so far removed from that part of myself and this music has a nostalgic feel to it that seems rather healing. Yeah, I’m a softy. Shhhh. 🤣
Yes, V is pronounced just as the letter "V". He choose it as V for Victory. He is so talented! He did a Tiny Desk concert that it sounds like you asked for, so check that out. It's wonderful. Your watermelon story was a hoot; thanks for sharing! A lot of us use the term 'Tannies' (short for BangTAN) when referring to them as a group. I think for OT7 (One True 7, another way to refer to them as a group) performances, seeing them live is good for 1) seeing how amazingly talented they are 2) seeing their interactions with each other. They are truly closer than brothers. The music really pulled me in, but seeing their relationships together and them as people is truly what made me ARMY. The Taylor Guide will also show you the respect and love they have for each other. Anyway, the 2021 Festa Room Live and their NPR Tiny Desk concerts would be great live performances to watch as an intro. The Festa performance is snippets of about 7 or 8 songs (really good for showing their versatility, though you have already seen that in the solo performances). The Tiny Desk is 3 full songs, but again, they are very different from each other. If you wanted to stick with a music video, my recs would be Fake Love, ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film, or Black Swan. Looking forward to all of it! Thanks for this reaction. And, sorry so long!
Ever apologize for talking about a subject dear to you for any length of time! I love reading comments! I only regret that I can’t respond in as much detail! I’m leaning towards On Kinetic Manifesto for my first OT7 video/song. I’m gonna try to see if I can find a live version and an MV version and do both in the same sitting. Seems like a solid way to jump in!!!
@@ReactionsThatRock Awesome! Glad you are okay with long comments, because here's another one! There are so many versions and performances of a lot of songs, on top of that there are a lot of fan made music videos that say 'official', which can really get newbies confused, so I try to do a bit of hand-holding so you aren't just out there flailing alone. Not all songs have a music video, unfortunately! Generally, the official BTS stuff will be put out under the HYBE Label channel on UA-cam. But, there are also official MVs from 1TheK. Because they have a lot of Japanese songs, there are also official MVs from the BTS Japan Official channel. (ARMY, am I missing any?) Now, more info on ON, since you are leaning towards it. ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film Come Prima is *separate* than the official music video for ON. Kinetic Manifesto is more choreo based, where the mv is more cinematic. (BOTH are wonderful, though my personal preference is the Kinetic Manifesto. With it being your first intro to them as a group and with the dancing being a big part of them, I'd say that one is a good choice for you. However, a live performance will also be more choreo based, pretty much the same as the Kinetic Manifesto mv, just live. So, that might make you lean towards the official mv to see something a little different? Most live performances won't have English subtitles. (Now that I think about it, some of their really early official MVs don't, either) As BTS *do* have a large part in writing their music, it's really important to ARMY that you see the lyrics. So, I would probably say watching the official mv first (with subtitles) and then moving on to a live performance is the way to go. I love the live performance for ON they did on Jimmy Fallon in Grand Central Station, but I just searched and I wasn't able to find it. The KBS World TV one is good! I know sometimes there are issues with live performances being blocked. I don't know anything about getting around that, sorry. (All of their live performances on Jimmy Fallon are excellent, for future song reactions, fyi.) FINALLY, I do want to let you know that BTS does not lip synch. There is a weird phenomenon of some live performances being better than the studio versions. They do use a backing track , but they are always singing live over it OR they make it obvious by not singing at all, mic down, etc. Generally, that is for when choreo gets in the way of singing. Letting you know because it's pretty hard to believe they are as good as they are. (There is a lot of lip synching in k-pop; BTS is different) I'll end it here. I'm happy to provide any links to videos if you'd like, answer any other questions, etc. (But, no reply is required, either...you have a lot of comments!!)
You can call them The Tannies, The Bagtan Boys, or just Bangtan or just BTS. I'm really curious what you are going to choose for your first BTS. Going back to the beginning? Doing one of their iconic and popular songs? An MV? A Live? An Album listen through? Be aware that three of their most popular songs with the most views on UA-cam that blew up with muggles/locals in the West are their trilogy of all English songs (Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance) and many ARMYS don't like when those songs are a reactor's first introduction to their music, because they are probably the brightest and most Pop songs that they have, with the easiest choreography. That's by design of course. It was during the pandemic when they put them out and they were meant to be uplifting mental health support for ARMY and the world, just light and fun and easy. They did them in English so it was accessible to more people and did really easy choreography so people could dance along. They even put International Sign Language in the choreography for Permission to Dance, to make it even more accessible. They are great songs, fun and lively. But they are better experienced after you have some idea what they are actually capable of and not defining them by those songs. I know you have watched their solo work and you know better, but you will probably get some disappointed ARMYs if the English songs are your first taste of BTS together. I recommend Black Swan, RUN BTS Live from Busan, ON Kinetic Manifesto, DNA, Mic Drop, Fake Love, Fire, Film Out Live, Magic Shop Live, or even their Live NPR Tiny Desk which includes Dynamite and two of their Korean songs. No More Dream and We Are Bulletproof Pt 2 are their first two singles from 2013 if you want to start at the very beginning, but look for ones with English Subs, as the official MVs didn't have them back then. Also, Enjoy BTS More is a good channel for high quality Live performances with English subs. For just the vocal line try 00:00/Zero O'Clock, House of Cards or The Truth Untold. For just the rap line, try UGH!, Ddaeng or Outro: Tear (live from Wembly in the black fit please!) But be aware that lyrically and wordplay heavy Ddaeng and UGH! should be accompanied by explanation videos to unpack them. DKDKTV has good ones for those songs.
There is also a really fun live medley that is a chronological walkthrough of all of their eras up til that time and gives you a taste of a bunch of songs you can choose to go back and listen to the full versions of later. It's called BTS Festa Room Live and is from 2021.
This is amazing! I have a list of song recommendations already but no one has explained it like this! I was thinking about maybe doing an official MV and a liver performance of the same song so I can get the feel for both. I’ve got a bit of research to do to make sure both videos have the right features (subtitles? Good audio on the live version? Etc.). Is this a good plan?
@@ReactionsThatRock Enjoy BTS More channel is great. If you combine an official MV (check for subs) with a live from her channel, you should be good to go. I'd probably recommend something like Fake Love for a start. It's got a bit of everything - rap, vocals, dance and lore! 💜
I just discovered your videos yesterday and I’ve been making my way through them bit by bit. (I’m a 36 year old metal head from Ireland btw) One thing I wanted to touch on was you saying that you like to show people the things you’re passionate about and it reminded me of something I said to my husband. He asked me one day why I watch people react to BTS and I said: “There’s just something really wholesome and beautiful about watching someone else fall in love with the things I love.” And I’ve never hit the nail SOOOOO hard on the head before. I love watching other people discover these men. They are so talented and yet so humble and kind. They are such beautiful people inside. I’m always delighted when I find someone else who appreciates their artistry. And I’m confident when you watch the guide that you’ll understand even more why ARMY goes to bat so hard for them. Borahae! 💜
That sounds quite familiar! I moved to Tennessee 3 years ago and whenever my family visits I LOVE showing them all the cool places we’ve found here and all the great food. I get frustrated if they don’t love it as much as I do! 🤣 I think the same works for music. I often come home and show my wife a new song I heard on the radio and hope she’s as excited as I am. Sadly, she’s not quite enjoying my musical journey in the same way. Maybe someday. 😂💜
Tiny Desk Korea and his other live performances from the Layover album is a must for V. He is a whole different vibe. He created a visual for each song and the album tells a conhesive story. In this one he is creating alternative reality or reminiscing about the past.
OK, this is likely to be a bit long and rambling, but hey, maybe you’ll get something from it, and you did ask… Generally, I’d say most people call the group BTS or Bangtan or, affectionately, the Tannies (although usually that would be in conversation with another ARMY). In Korea I think a lot of people still use the full name, Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates as Bulletproof Boyscouts. Strangely, even in the West no-one calls them Bulletproof, even though that’s the direct English translation of Bangtan and a name they have often called themselves - their second single, released in June 2013 was called ‘We are Bulletproof Pt.2’, there’s a more recent love song to ARMY called ‘We are Bulletproof:The Eternal’, and ‘Run BTS’, a banger from 2022 which celebrates their journey features the phrase “Run Bulletproof”. V (Kim Taehyung) is an enigma, probably the most difficult member of BTS to pin down with words. He is very open, sociable and almost child-like in his curiosity and sense of wonder, and at the same time he has a reserve and stillness, almost a sadness and vulnerability which makes people want to take care of him. He’s very gentle, and yet he chose the toughest path in his military enlistment, joining part of South Korea’s elite special forces. There’s an intelligence, depth and mystery to him which comes across in his BTS solos ‘Singularity’ and ‘Stigma’. He does write songs for himself but finds it difficult to get them to release as they tend to be extremely personal. Lord knows how many he has deleted over the years. For Layover he trashed everything he’d written and decided to ask others to write songs to fit the mood he wanted to convey… this kind of languid, slightly melancholic, tranquil vibe where everything feels transitory, almost ephemeral. It’s a pause rather than a statement. One thing he was fixed on was that he wanted to try to capture the images in his head for each song. Originally he was thinking it might be up to eight songs and eight videos for the mini-album, but in the end he settled on five songs, five videos (plus a piano version of one song). I do have some thoughts about the imagery and story in the videos, which are meant to be seen in track order. I won’t try to be specific but I will say that over the years ideas about constructed worlds, identity, self-discovery and self-acceptance, protection, concealment and masks have been running themes for BTS as a whole. Largely because of his looks V has a degree of celebrity which extends beyond his membership of BTS, and that can’t be easy to deal with. I think these videos are in some ways engaging with that aspect of his fame and how it affects him as a real person. What he brings to BTS is this soulful, R&B, jazzy sensibility and a playfulness in performance which can flip to intensity on a dime. Curiously, Suga has said that he thinks V may be the most musically ambitious of all the members… and that’s not something he would say lightly.
I like long and rambling! I have so much to learn, and this is been my favorite way to learn it. I only regret that I can’t ever reply with an equally constructed and coherent sentiment.. 💜✌️
Loved your reaction. I appreciate the question at the end. I have been Army for about 2 years, and I have had the same question, on what to call them. You hear a lot of different names. I am 60 and really do not care for boys but I have used a few times, now I know not to. Every time I hear V I think of Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire. I really like your take on the music and his voice. Blessings.
@@ReactionsThatRockyou just fasten your seatbelt,it going to be great ride, check out Singularity and stigma live performance and sweet night, snowflower,Christmas tree , inner child, winter bear all are solo done by V.
There are other ARMYs that have said this more eloquently but the scenes where he’s with people are basically VR while the ones where he’s by himself are him IRL. A lot can be interpreted from that but again, other ARMYs have analyzed the scenes more eloquently than I could! I would recommend watching V’s Tiny Desk Concert video if you want him with a live band! It’s not a full orchestra but it’s pretty darn groovy! Also if you liked the sick flute solo, I’d recommend checking out 134340 by the full group! It’s a B side track so no music video but the lyrics are 10/10 - basically relating being dumped to Pluto’s planet status being revoked……all with a sick flute solo to boot!
I tease flute players but it’s only out of jealousy! (Shhhh, don’t tell anyone!). It’s the only instrument I’ve ever picked up and couldn’t get a real note to come out of. Not saying I’m good at the others, but the flute has always evaded me so I have a secretive love for it! That and I had a cousin that shoved Jethro Tull down my throat as a kid and it’s hard not to appreciate jazz flute!!!
@@ReactionsThatRock I was the jazz flute kid in band growing up. Trust me when I say it is not as glamorous as it seems lol but I do appreciate anyone who appreciates a flute solo! It’s such an under appreciated instrument so it makes my little flutist heart happy whenever I get to hear a flute break (let alone a sick flute solo). I’m extra excited for you to react to this one then!
@@rachael02126 i had a crush on pretty much all the flutists in our jazz band. Not for nothing, it is an instrument the cute girls played. Of course, there’s always that one guy too… 🤪 I was the only trombone player in my tiny high school. As a slightly brash and annoying young man, I’d sometimes drown out the whole flute section. Kinda mean, but I think we called it flirting.
Yeah, he went with a Hybe producer from another small label called ADOR which produces the new girl group NewJeans. Hybe is a legal entity that has a bunch of smaller labels under it in a grape cluster structure, including Big Hit. Technically Hybe is the house that BTS built, and they all own stock in the company. So all the other smaller labels are part of their company too which Big Hit acquired when they formed Hybe and walled off Big Hit as BTS' label (along with their one senior singer Lee Hyun and they one junior group TXT.) All the junior groups at the other small labels are BTS junior groups now too, and they have been collabing and connecting with them in various ways. It's such a treat for BTS, who were so ostracized and isolated in the industry. They didn't have anyone to look out for them or help them as junior artists, so they really enjoy helping all the Hybe junior artists now. Which just shows you their nature. They are not bitter, but rather eager to prevent other young artists from feeling the same pain.
Even when he used a production team from other label, the album is still released under BigHit. The BigHit Music stamp is just at the end. Some TXT's MV were also made this way. I think they're testing this as an option
Ahhh. I gotcha. I just got tore up once for not including it (on a video that didn’t have it) so I’m just covering my bases. Some people get mad at some things. 🤪😎💜
@@ReactionsThatRock some time ago (yeaaarsss ago, really) some reactors noticed that there was more chance for them to get a copyright strike if the agency sound wasn't included in their video, and mentioned to their followers. I don't know how much truth there was on it but it became customary to recommend creators to include it, just in case. It's part of a "package" of recommendations, which includes not to react to Japanese network content, try to hide the Korean network/show symbols when reacting to that kind of content, and blur content from American networls. And then somehow the origin of it got lost and some people get really mad when it's not done, when it was originally just a way to protect the creators
There is a piano version of this song as well. V did a two song Jazz performance with a live jazz band and his NPR Tiny Desk is 100% worth checking out as well. There is a cute video V posted when they guys were in Vega of him dancing at some jazz bar to a live band surrounded by a bunch of old-timers on the dance floor. :)
I’ve GOT to hunt that piano version down! That said, I’m not quite the target audience for cute videos, but if there’s sincere personality and a touch of humor… I’m in. 🤪✌️💜
Thank you for sharing your reaction to V! 💜 It was so nice to see someone discovering his music and I really enjoyed your reaction with how engaging you were with your stories and how open you are in trying new music. Hope you have a chance to try V aka Taehyung's other songs and content 💜

Especially since most of my friends (im 51 for context) tease me or wont let me show them any BTS content, i like watching reaction videos because its like showing it to a friend. Im sorry if anyone has gotten upset for not liking other things, or if people are harsh while informing or correcting you. Its ok if you ever don't like a BTS song. Real ARMYs prefer reactors to be genuine and as long as you remain respectful about it we'll support you. Its important to remember, when a group has tens of millions of fans, there will be some bad eggs, but personally i dont consider them ARMY. Real ARMYs would/should be respectful and kind, even when "protecting our boys". Someday after the guide watch BTS hardships by xCeleste to better understand why we are so very protective 😊 Thank you again for your reaction. 💜
Thanks so much! I honestly don’t ever hold any fans accountable for other fans. Also, really, I don’t even hold the passionately nasty ones accountable either. Music is passion. Watch my first James Blunt or Kasey Chambers reaction and I really did earn the nasty comments. I was honest about my feelings and it upset some people. I can also be a touch abrasive at times and my natural disposition is sarcasm so it doesn’t always go over well. At the end of the day, I’d rather someone be mean to me because their music didn’t quite resonate with me than have that same person have ZERO passion or connection to music. I mean it when I say I have thick skin. That said, I think MOST all ARMY have been amazing! A few were maybe a bit overzealous to teach me, but I honestly love that too! That said, my wife won’t even try a BTS song because she’s sick of me talking about it. I’ve got work to do! 🤪💜
@@ReactionsThatRock that's a good attitude to have, especially if you branch out to other kpop groups. Not saying other fans are bad, but BTS aside, the main demographics of most kpop groups are younger. One thing to keep in mind about the sarcasm thing, with BTS you'll get viewers from all over the world, many whose 1st language isn't English so they may not be picking up on it well. Not saying to stop being sarcastic, just explaining why some people may not quite get it . Music is definitely my passion. It moves me, motivates me, makes me sad or happy, I just feel it deeply. I've always said I'd rather go blind than deaf because I can't live without music. My late husband was the one who showed me BTS, because it popped up on his recommended, & we lived in Korea once so he thought I'd like it. He had *NO* idea what he began! I ended up forcing him to watch every new video I found, I could sing along eventually & I'd make him play them incessantly in the car while I sang if I was with him haha. For years. It got to the point when certain songs came on he'd sing the English parts & make up words for the Korean parts lol . (Not mimicking Korean, just singing English words that sounded like the Korean word) he'd sing it loudly lol to drown me out. But there were BTS songs he'd play on his own too. Suga was his bias. Your wife may come around eventually! 😊 Yes ARMYs , myself included, like to write books about them lol. We just love to share them with people because they're amazing artists as well as humans, & more people need them in their lives. They have the power to produce change, for real. BTS needs us & we need them 💜 borahae 💜 Can't wait for the guide, do you have an idea when it'll be out? It is one of my favorite things for reactors to watch
There is Jazz de Ve and he sings 2 jazz classic's to with a live jazz band. Also you have to hear his tiny desk with a great band. oh and the relaxed band practices and wait until the very end to hear V jamming with the band on a Saxophone.
It's been cool watching you meet each member (which is what I call them when speaking of them as a collective.) They often use that term when talking about themselves. But guys works ,too. Many ARMY avoid calling them boys because it's considered by some to be infantilization. My bias is Suga/Agust D which is a weird occurrence as I'm an old Goth/metal girl and rap wasn't at the top of my list of favored genres, & at 70, I'd never thought I'd be stanning a Kpop group either. But BTS can do that to a mind. I look forward to your future reactions to the group as a whole.
Member works… although it does kinda sound like what college frat boys used to call their… nevermind. I agree with “boys”. It’s an easy go to for me as everyone under 35 looks like a boy to me now, but it really is a touch condescending (moreso coming from a man, I think). I haven’t settled on a bias yet as I’m only 1 song in and haven’t watched any behind the scenes stuff yet, but I’m sure I’ve narrowed it down to either Suga, V, Jin or J-Hope. I got more work to do. 🤪💜
@@ReactionsThatRock Part of the joy of going down the BTS rabbit hole is never quite finding the bottom. After all this time, I still find some gem I’ve missed. A collab with Fall Out Boy? Yep. RM did one earlier in his career on a fluke meeting. Halsey collabing with Suga? Several times. Coldplay and BTS during the Covid pandemic? That’s a a whole story itself.Collabs with Warren G? Done. JCole? Nods. Hold onto your hats, guys, it could be a bumpy ride.
@@ReactionsThatRock I hope so! Jhope has just announced a new ep/album “Hope on the Street” to be released soon. Jin will be finished with his military service end in June 2024 & ARMY hopes for a solo album soon after. It should be affirmed that BTS has not disbanded-they are only temporarily separated by government obligations. But as you’ve experienced them as individuals you need see them as both vocalists and rappers. So here is a rapper performance ua-cam.com/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/v-deo.htmlsi=RQi9aWcHDqb5KSYB and a vocalist performance ua-cam.com/video/q9yaP4wZ_tI/v-deo.htmlsi=jAbEOFC3baUSuSHy Together…they are immaculate.
5:40 - ish? YES!!! WATERMELON BALL!!!!! Every swim class my mother made me take, we played that after the final lesson...then the teachers would clean it off, cut it up, and we'd eat it. NO ONE else I've ever talked to has ever heard of it!
@@ReactionsThatRock Same here! The number of times growing up I thought "Did I just imagine we did that?" Nope. It was definitely real. And those things were SLIPPERY!!! LOL
In other videos of the guys you have mentioned that your taste does not go so much to falsettos and high notes; in the music of BTS you will find it a lot (in general in kpop) since, although in recent years it has been changing, the tendency is to choose tenor vocalists, highlighting those who have a good falsetto and play high notes. Bartolos and basses are usually like rappers. While BTS has baritones in the rap line; in the vocal line it has a countertenor, 2 tenors and a baritone. The vocalists have wide vocal ranges (more than 3 octaves), good vocal technique, are good in falsettos and give high notes. One of the reasons why V was hidden before the debut was his voice, since he is naturally deep and deep, he also has a velvet that makes him caress you with his voice, so to avoid being stolen by some other company they decided to hide it, knowing that it would cause a good impact, added to the fact that physically he has always been very handsome and the unofficial visual. He is also the one who has the widest range of the group, he is very versatile, with a very good technique for falsetto and use of head voice; as well as he can sound bass he has good highs, he reaches high notes similar to those of the tenors of the group You must see "Le Jazz de V", in this performance V shows off his crooner side with 2 covers in English, accompanied by Korean musicians. He is a lover of old-school jazz and R&B; his favorite singer is Bing Crosby, a good crooner who was an inspiration for Frank Sinatra. In addition to everything V is a musician and has studied or learned various instruments such as saxophone, piano, guitar, violin, trumpet, as a complement to his singing career. That's why you can tell that he enjoys having live musicians; so you can't miss his "Tiny Desk Korea" (it's also on the NPR channel) in which he is accompanied by extraordinary musicians who traveled from the USA to Korea for this performance. When you enter the songs of the group you will find a great diversity, I can't deny that there are commercial pop songs, very traditional boy band style but they are also very good since they and their creative team like to make fusions. There is everything and for everyone, but something important in his songs is the lyrics; for example, his songs are usually not simply about couple love, although they may seem like it, they usually have some broader meaning. I would like you to get to the performances with live voice, you will be surprised because they are artists who manage to equal or surpass the studio versions; there may be flaws because they are human, there are not many, and we might not notice them, but they usually make them obvious with their faces or laughter; they are humble and honest, so on other occasions they tell when that happens (or they purposely do it wrong to laugh on their variety show).
Already saw this reaction. Many commented on some things. Yes, the watermelon is what I think it’s supposed to be like when a kid. There are flashes of shapes that show the outline of his dog Yeontan that he adores though Yeontan has many heart problems and unsuccessful surgeries. He also put his dog on his cover of this album and a double look alike is in some of his vids including this one. He made sure to include people of diversity as well. He’s playing around in the apartment and you can see it has a lot of holographic features…many of us think he’s really there and enters the world he’s singing in. The part on the ship is big for ARMY since he suggested that BTS take some time together on a ship for fun and they agreed. So, that’s key for ARMY. Others already mentioned suggestions, etc. I’m just answering what I can remember from this MV for ya. Thx! Love V’s old unique soul. 💜💜💜👏👏👏
Channelling Wolfman Jack with that voice. Does that show my age. 😄 I am enjoying your BTS journey. Their music is very diverse and you can now see why - 7 different music styles. BTS is worth your time.
Yeah, in the late 90s almost every rock DJ stole the Wolfman sound and sleazed it up just a bit. I’d like to say I was above that but… 🤪 It really is interesting to explore all 7 members first. I’m mildly confident that once I start listening to the group I’ll know who may have contributed what to each song.
We would get a bit of US radio here in Australia back in the late 70's and early 80's when I was in my tweens/teens. I was probably a bit too young and naive to pick up on any interesting takes. 😄 BTS's earlier music skewed more towards hip-hop but you will find a good mix of genres in their albums. A very talented group with a good team behind them. V has done a Tiny Desk concert as well as Jazz de V with live bands. He has such a soulful voice and you can see that he really loves this style of music. He and RM are the two members who most share the music that they listen to with ARMY which I really appreciate - thrilled to be introduced to new music. Jungkook does free live karaoke sessions - effortless vocals. They are all just extremely likeable which is one of the qualities that keeps the fanbase loyal. You just can't dislike any of them. You will attract some toxic elements. ARMY is so huge that the negative elements can seem very loud. Most will appreciate honest reactions as long as you are respectful - the boys have copped a lot of shit over the years so ARMY can be a bit protective of them.

@@ReactionsThatRock Apparently, Tae has put on about 10 kilos (24lbs) of weight since he joined the military less than three months ago, so maybe he’s aiming to eventually take Barry White’s nickname too. 😂
You should check out his Tint Desk Korean, he sings 3 songs live with a band from his layover album also Le Jazz De V is 2 old songs it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 2nd is Cheek to Cheek - V has a great vocal range it is showcased in Stigma and then Singularity take shows his sexy persona I think someone said it was baby making music 😂
Oh this song “Slow Dancing” is definitely baby making music too! He’s got a serious vibe here and I dig it. I’ll be sure to check out the Tiny Desk Concert too! Thank you!!! 😊
I love that you have seen the light! BTS are not a boy band in the sense that you were thinking. They are a group that are just super talented in many areas of music and dance and songwriting and producing and are also phenomenal people 💜
42yo army here. There is soo much interesting work from BTS both as a whole and solos. You can be doing this for years and still have material. Love your reactions ❤
Thanks for the kind words!!! I’m realizing that even if I get through the whole BTS musical catalogue I’ll still have decades worth of explanation videos, guides, etc. It’s a bit overwhelming but I’m loving it!
Hi! You probably have this on your "list" of videos to watch, and while Taylor's Intro to BTS video is very comprehensive, you may want to watch (on your own time or with us) "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On-A Story of BTS (updated in 2023) by Rice Squad and "This is BTS-Introduction to BTS" by xCeleste. These two videos were the best of what was available when I became ARMY in late 2021, before Taylor's video came out. xCeleste has some other documentary-type videos that are also very good.
@@ReactionsThatRock one reactor is constantly joking about ARMY being BTS' gang and that the army really behave like a gang (without bad parts of what gangs do). And I kinda agree with that. So I'm okay with calling them the gang, lol
I think we all like group or artist. BTS or Bangtan. Tannies only amongst Army. And of course members or their real or stage name. Wouldn't use nicknames as non-Army. But, don't fret. We'll scream at you if you get it wrong. 😉 I can't stand it when they're called boys. Just be respectful, as you are. 💜
Ok, so I spent my workday binge watching your BTS solo reactions after watching this one and I only happened to see this one cause I adore Tae and his Layover album. I am a 60 yr old ARMY and have been in this rabbit hole for the past 4 years after my lovely daughter got me into them. I grew up on late 70s and 80s rock n roll/hair bands. Never really cared for any kind of rap and detested "boy bands". Now, I can't go a day without listening to BTS songs. I don't really follow other groups in the kpop world although there are other songs that I like from other groups. These 7 men are so awe-inspiring and incredibly talented. When I first heard them (washing dishes in the kitchen after dinner, lol) I immediately picked out Tae's deep, silky, smokey voice and have been hooked ever since. As far as the rap goes, their rap is so so different than any western rap and my favorite one is Amygdala by Agust D/Suga. The emotion these men put in ALL of their songs is just so amazing. And their humbleness, passion, sincerity speak volumes. Thank you so much for your sincere reactions to our Boys!! I have subscribed and look forward to watching your journey down the BTS rabbit hole, welcome to the family!! Some of my favorites that you may like are Fire, Idol, ON Kinetic Manifesto, Not Today - these all have a "rock n roll" feel. And yes, there is dancing but it is soooo good!! Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I’m happy to hear I’m bingeable!!! 🤪💜 I’m really surprised by not just the music but the connection people seem to have to it as well. A big part of the reason I started this channel was because newer rock music just wasn’t speaking to me anymore. My wife isn’t yet on board so I’ve got to find ways to sneak this music to her and have her like it before she knows who it is. That’s gonna take some work! I’m thinking for my first group song I’ll fire up On Kinetic Manifesto and so both the official video and a live version in one sitting. Good plan? ✌️💜
There are actually 2 videos for ON, the cinematic (and I do mean cinematic) M/V and the performance M/V (which is the Kinetic Manifesto: Come Prima). But watching a live is great too!! Either way, I am sure you will really like that one!! And I agree with you on the newer music of today. I don't even enjoy listening to new stuff some of my favorite groups (that are still producing anyway) put out. Really miss the music from my late teens and early 20s...it was some of the best!! Oh and you and the wife should watch Black Swan together, I think she would like that one...it is Art ( with a capital "A")!!
Alot of people call them "our boys", and I have in the past, but they are so not boys anymore, so I'm referencing them more as the guys now. They are grown men now for sure.💜
Im interested to see which OT7 song you start with! Their variety as a group is just as wide as their solo stuff! Or nearly. Some singles are even the « classic » boy band stuff you expected (Boy with Love with Halsey, and their English trilogy- Dynamite, Butter and PTD for example.) They also have solos as part of the group albums, then the rap and vocal lines also do songs together. They really take advantage of the 7 members that way. Im a 39 year old ARMY from The PNW. Suga, RM and V are my biases and bias wreckers but I love them all!
Oh, I love the Pacific Northwest. The old forest, hiking there is absolutely amazing. Haven’t been in forever though. 🥲 I’m not sure yet what song I’m going to do but I think I’m going to find an original video and a live video and do them on the same reaction.
Thanks for your reaction to V! Everybody already suggested V's Tiny Desk -- it's a must-see. Here's a link just to make it easier for you: ua-cam.com/video/gzZhf4ct50Y/v-deo.html
Thank you for checking out V's MV.. referring to BTS depends on how they relate to you, since I'm 61 y/o I refer to them as my "boys" bec they're about my children's ages or you can call them Tannies or the guys/men, it's really up to you how you feel calling them 😊. I love the diversity of BTS's music most especially their individual music so we get to see their different colors which is so refreshing 😊💜. Looking forward to watching Taylor's guide with you.
Ahhh. I love that. I called them boys a time or two and for me being a 45 year old man, I felt like it came across a bit condescending (even though it wasn’t intended that way). Of course, I called them “the gang” once while talking to my wife about them and that seemed worse! 🤪💜
V was influenced by his grandparents who raised him, so he loves everything classic & vintage. From his music to fashion, and just overall personality.
Ahh that’s awesome to hear! My grandmother was heavily involved in my upbringing but I honestly couldn’t tell you what kind of music she listened to as I don’t ever think she did!!! 🤪💜
The music video seems like a scientist inventing virtual reality for himself. If you see the picture he took with his friends, you notice all of them are him. And if you see him assembling stuff, you see a 3D map of the ‘beach and hills’. It seems like he’s creating the VR for himself… let me know your theory
That's what I like so much indeed...see what your reaction is and then I prefer an honest reaction. You just can't find everything great and that's fine. I can't wait for your next bts response💜💜🫰
You’re doing great as a rector, and I think you talk about one reason why they are so big. Everyone who’s open minded enough WILL find themselves liking some their music because it’s just good stuff 😊
Thank you so much! It’s odd because even the songs that maybe didn’t musically speak to me still had a vibe to them that pulled on some emotion deep inside. Their musical prowess is well beyond their years!!!
@@ReactionsThatRock exactly. That happens all the time when I listen to their music. Permission to dance for example. So not my type of music, but I find myself tearing up almost every time I hear it because it’s so sweet.
the nice thing about BTS is that you have tons of material - I might suggest you start with their older material and work your way forward - so many skip around - it is fun to watch them grow up both physically but also as artists
@@ReactionsThatRock it also makes some of the track more understandable as they there is a story line at one time in the MV - when skipping around they do not make sense - like reading chapter 10 then going back to chapter 1 then up to chapter 15
V for Victory. You need to go at your own speed not the speed people might want you to go at after this is your channel and we are enjoying your journey.
Thanks! I get the pressure though. When I take a friend to a new restaurant I like, I want them to order the whole menu and go back the next day for breakfast. 🤪💜
@@ReactionsThatRock my holiday playlist is BTS holiday versions plus V's solo christmas/winter songs and Feliz Navidad! The original 60s version 💜🎄🎅🏼🥂 my grandma's fav and mine!
The whole album is a slow, jazzy vibe just to chill. You can listen to it all day and it is all calm vibes. Just please, please do not start with Dynamite and Butter, hahah. Even they are such good songs, their true sound is in their Korean songs
If you want, it's your choice if you want, you can start with BTS. Take two Yet to come Fake Love Airplane part 2(yes, this song is called like that) Idol Mic drop

Can you react to one of these two very fashionable Spanish songs? Young Miko: bzrp music sessions, Vol.58 or Casanova of Lola indigo, soulking and Rvfv
I sure can! I’ll get one (or both) of these done. Just give me a bit of time as I’ve got a long list to get through… but I’ll move these up as I haven’t really done anything Spanish yet! 😊
It's ok to refer to them as the guys, the group, Bangtan... As far as ARMY go, we often fondly refer to them as our boys or Tannies, but since you're just dipping in your toes right now, you might be more comfortable with the neutral names. But honestly, I don't think there's really anything wrong with whatever you choose. We obviously don't like them being called boyband much, but that's mostly because of the preconceived notions that word brings, which you're past now.
About the watermelon and banana....ummm. I'm so naive it took me watching it a dozen times...😂. Apparently a watermelon is kinda like a 🍑, and the banana Taehyung had in his hand right afterward...need I say more?

Ahhh. Victory. Someone had commented that it was a peace sign but Victory ✌️ makes more sense!!!

When they first debuted, they were doing pre-debut vlogging and blogging but V was hidden.
@@ReactionsThatRock Victory is a play on the meaning of his name, Taehyung (Great Prosperity)
There must be an interesting story, going from the trombone to rock/metal LOL
Speaking of orchestral instruments, BTS has a song called "Black Swan" and in addition to the usual MV, there's an art film where the MN Dance Company did a dance performance with the orchestral version of the song as the music.
The guitars and drums came later!!!
Thanks for the recommendations! I cannot wait to check out more!
Old School Sinatra? Try "Le Jazz de V". Glad you liked this. It's even better live.
Old soul, modern world! I’ll be sure to check that out! Thanks!!!
Agreed on that recommendation. It’s exactly what you asked.
He has a timeless voice!
A Singer, Dancer, Composer, Producer, Songwriter, Actor, Entertainer, Photographer, Artist, Painter.... a jazz lover he plays saxophone, piano, and learning violin and trumpet
He is known as the Idol of Idols, and is studied for his stage presence and facial expressions.

Another 50 yo Army here. V is so good. Even my 83 year old mom asked me, who is this boy, hahahahh. She loved the whole album
Ahh. Seemed like that was the case but I’ve learned before that sometimes things aren’t what they seem with BTS videos! Thanks!!!
I’m 48, and this song took me right back to 70’s AM radio - in a good way. Go ahead and just call them Bangtan. You are pronouncing it fine. Keep up the awesome videos!
Right! Reminds me of the sound of walking in to my grandfathers workshop as a kid!!!
Layover is a masterpiece of art. V is an amazing artist.
Just ordered the CD! 😎💜
@@ReactionsThatRockme too. I listen to the entire cd every night to help me fall asleep. I have insomnia, so his songs help slot.
The magical voice Kim Taehyung
✌️💜
This song brought me right back to the mid-late 70's of my childhood and I love it 💜💜💜
Right?!? Old school vibe for sure!💜
Le Jazz de V, and Vs Tiny Desk Korea has a live band
I see I should have done either of those! :-)
Never too late! @ReationsThatRock
V’s Tiny Desk! The vids for this and Friends are great but they’re so rich they’re almost distracting.
People are passionate so when others don’t immediately share the passion it can feel like rejection.
Right? The arrangements and the lyrics convey the message with or without an English translation! It’s really phenomenal to experience!
Thanks! Welcome to the party! 🎉
I’ve really gotta check out more from V. He might be my bias… as they say.
all his solo songs are timeless gems. laid back and beautiful. his voice is truly amazing. please check out his tiny desk performance and his entire album Layover. it's a masterpiece.
I just ordered Layover off Amazon (as a CD, because I’m old and hate digital!). I cannot wait to check it out!
Definitely a vibe! This was like a lazy Sunday cold outside / warm inside good book and some tea vibe!
I just love how each member has found a unique musical lan totally different from the rest. Jazz fits V so well.
You and me both! Seven singers with seven completely different vibes!
(ARMY, am I missing any?)
Now, more info on ON, since you are leaning towards it.
(All of their live performances on Jimmy Fallon are excellent, for future song reactions, fyi.)
FINALLY, I do want to let you know that BTS does not lip synch. (There is a lot of lip synching in k-pop; BTS is different)
I'll end it here.
Perfect comment 💜
@@Sherluck93 awesome!!!! Thank you!
I just discovered your videos yesterday and I’ve been making my way through them bit by bit. (I’m a 36 year old metal head from Ireland btw)
One thing I wanted to touch on was you saying that you like to show people the things you’re passionate about and it reminded me of something I said to my husband.
He asked me one day why I watch people react to BTS and I said:
“There’s just something really wholesome and beautiful about watching someone else fall in love with the things I love.” And I’ve never hit the nail SOOOOO hard on the head before.
I think the same works for music.
I love that!!! Just ordered the Layover album!
The flute is played by the amazing Cautious Clay was so pleased and shocked when I read Cautious Clay played the flute for this on the album.
I’m not familiar with Cautious Clay so I’ve got some googling to do tonight!!!
I like your reactions. V is my bias.
Thank you so much! I’m thinking he might be mine too. So soulful!
We think he's creating his own world, throughout the MV.
Oooh. I like that!!!
OK, this is likely to be a bit long and rambling, but hey, maybe you’ll get something from it, and you did ask…
Generally, I’d say most people call the group BTS or Bangtan or, affectionately, the Tannies (although usually that would be in conversation with another ARMY).
Blessings.
Thank you!
I feel odd calling them boys as if they’re 11. I seem to be getting enough info here to avoid accidentally demeaning the group! 💜
The guys, the members, bts, bangtan (pronounced like bahng tahn), the tannies. They have lots of nicknames!
Some ppl just call them their 7 husbands 😂
I won’t call em my husbands but I do appreciate the other names!!! 💜😎
their songs are timeless
I'm still blown away by how absolutely wrong I was about what they were musically. Mind BLOWN!

@@ReactionsThatRock I was the jazz flute kid in band growing up. Trust me when I say it is not as glamorous as it seems lol but I do appreciate anyone who appreciates a flute solo! His album and videos weren't produced by BigHit, which is why you didn't see their intro.
“It was like a way to drown kids” STOP LOL!!!! Glad you made it out alive 😉

10:40 Tae is sort of timeless himself so its apropos that you said that about his song. He's an old soul. Subbed btw, really looking forward to the taylor guide & for you to explore them as a group! Also im like that too.
Someday after the guide watch BTS hardships by xCeleste to better understand why we are so very protective 😊
Thank you again for your reaction.

Yes ARMYs , myself included, like to write books about them lol. We just love to share them with people because they're amazing artists as well as humans, & more people need them in their lives. They have the power to produce change, for real.
BTS needs us & we need them

@@BangPDsMom oh, I’ll never get to the bottom. I’ll have one foot in the hole and they’ll all come out of the service and drop 500 new songs!!!
Sure is!!!
5:40 - ish? YES!!! WATERMELON BALL!!!!! Every swim class my mother made me take, we played that after the final lesson...then the teachers would clean it off, cut it up, and we'd eat it. NO ONE else I've ever talked to has ever heard of it!
Sometimes I wasn’t sure if anyone else did this! Seemed like a weird dream but I know it happened!!!
I’m happy I’m not alone! 🍉

The number of times growing up I thought "Did I just imagine we did that?" Nope. It was definitely real.
And those things were SLIPPERY!!! LOL
56yr old ARMY from England. Enjoying your BTS journey. Just subscribed 💜
Welcome to the party!!! 🎉 🎈
You can call them the boys, or the guys, or BTS, or bangtans, or tannies or even 875. Doesn't matter as long as you love them.
Noted! 😎💜
Техеееен❤❤❤❤❤ миленький нежный ласковый❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So I’ve heard!!! ✌️💜
He is also the one who has the widest range of the group, he is very versatile, with a very good technique for falsetto and use of head voice; as well as he can sound bass he has good highs, he reaches high notes similar to those of the tenors of the group
You must see "Le Jazz de V", in this performance V shows off his crooner side with 2 covers in English, accompanied by Korean musicians.
Amazing info!!! I’ll definitely be getting deeper into to the live aspect of some of their work. I’ve got sooo much to listen to! ✌️💜
I appreciate all the info. I missed the dog aspect which is huge to me as my dogs are family! 💕💜
V❤❤❤❤❤
✌️💜
Channelling Wolfman Jack with that voice. Does that show my age. 😄 I am enjoying your BTS journey. Their music is very diverse and you can now see why - 7 different music styles. BTS is worth your time.
Yeah, in the late 90s almost every rock DJ stole the Wolfman sound and sleazed it up just a bit. I’d like to say I was above that but… 🤪
It really is interesting to explore all 7 members first. I’m mildly confident that once I start listening to the group I’ll know who may have contributed what to each song.
We would get a bit of US radio here in Australia back in the late 70's and early 80's when I was in my tweens/teens. I was probably a bit too young and naive to pick up on any interesting takes. 😄
BTS's earlier music skewed more towards hip-hop but you will find a good mix of genres in their albums.
Gracias por reacciona a vHay un tiny desk korea con v que jazz te recomiendo la ultima cancion four us el toca el saxofon la trompeta y esta aprendiendo el.violin

🎵🎶💜 Beautiful 🌟V🌟 the Korean 'walrus of love'
Ok! I’m googling this in about 8 seconds. I’ve GOT to know where that came from!
@@ReactionsThatRock oh I'm old ... so Barry White's nickname is walrus of Love (in the UK)💜
@@RLC63 OMG, I never knew that but it totally makes sense! Love it!

Hi! Thanks for another great reaction!! 🤘💜
Hello and thank you!!!
I love that you have seen the light! BTS are not a boy band in the sense that you were thinking. They are a group that are just super talented in many areas of music and dance and songwriting and producing and are also phenomenal people 💜
I’m still shocked at what they really are vs what I thought they were! ✌️💜
Vs Tiny Desk Korea!! Thats live, this is what you ask for
Awesome! Thank you!!!
I’ve got “Rice Squad Vids” on my list but nothing specific! This will help me greatly! Thank you! 💜
As a collective, Group, Act, artist, Tannies,
Individually, the Members.
Awesome! Thank you!
I said “the gang” once while talking about them to my wife. It did NOT sound right. 🤪
💜
@@volhan.p.9722 Jurn is so funny when he talks about Army. And I agree! Bestest gang in the world! 💜
We have many fun names for them BTS of course or the Bantang Boys or the Tannies or the one I like the most Our 7 Kings.
Sounds good to me!!!
I’m really surprised by not just the music but the connection people seem to have to it as well.
Yeah… I said boys a time or two and I felt like it might be condescending… at least coming from a 45 year old man. 🤪✌️💜
V Tiny desck os a beautiful ❤🇧🇷❤🇧🇷❤🇧🇷
It’s on my list!!! 💜
Where in the PNW? I'm near PT on the Olympic Peninsula.
Oh, I love the Pacific Northwest. The old forest, hiking there is absolutely amazing. Haven’t been in forever though. 🥲
I’m not sure yet what song I’m going to do but I think I’m going to find an original video and a live video and do them on the same reaction.

Ahhh. I missed that they were all him! Interesting!
It did seem like he was creating a world but usually when I guess, I only get it half right.
That's what I like so much indeed...see what your reaction is and then I prefer an honest reaction. You just can't find everything great and that's fine. I can't wait for your next bts response💜💜🫰
Thanks so much! I really appreciate this!!! 💜
When he take a picture of his friends, his face is only there bec. his in his imaginary world.
Ahhh. I knew there was some depth to the video! Thanks!!!
Not a bad idea! I was already advised to not start with their poppy English songs so I think starting at the beginning sounds like a solid plan!
@@ReactionsThatRock it also makes some of the track more understandable as they there is a story line at one time in the MV - when skipping around they do not make sense - like reading chapter 10 then going back to chapter 1 then up to chapter 15
@rjbirmingham ahhh. I gotcha. Sounds like I’ve got some work to do! :-)

Far past that notion! I still can’t believe how wrong I was! 💜
