Her name is Shawn Dailey. She was actually 36 years old not 25 when she killed her mother Clara Dailey. Her boyfriend Bennie was 32. Her son was 11 when he found his grandmother dead. This happened in 1992. If you want to be just a tad respected during an interview, say the truth. You weren’t some stupid 25 year old crackhead that didn’t get over the death of your father at 16. That was an excuse to try and justify what you did. You were a 36 year old grown woman when you did this to your mother because she wouldn’t give you what you and your druggie boyfriend wanted. You had so much time to move out of her house but instead you subjected your children to a horrendous crime. Everybody in this comment section needs to know, Clara Dailey was a great mother and a great grandmother. She was protecting YOUR children from YOU. That’s why it seemed she “loved them more” like you said. It’s so wrong that you’re still trying to twist this story. Take some responsibility for what you did to your family and children.

Honestly this doesn't really change anything. She's a terrible person either way and I'm more inclined to think her version differs because of so much drug use and just misremembering. Your numbers do make sense though so I'm not disputing what you're saying. She said she did 26 years and had been out for 3, and that she's 66. So that timeline matches what you're saying that she did this as a 36 year old.

We already know she's a piece of xyz, but let's get past that and learn something. I don't comprehend why people NEED to openly stay stuck on talking about how bad someone is. It's weird. Either your going to learn something from this, or you're going to help the person, but why talk about how bad they are constantly? For what? I don't get it.

My mother is a monster, the most negative human being you will ever meet and I haven’t killed her! I wish that I understood why Shawn wasn’t given a life without parole sentence. ''Proof that addicts will kill, steal and betray for their next fix''. Thats simply not true. I am a six year US Army infantry combat veteran who also holds a law degree. I became an opioid dependent addict when a Dr. gave me oxycontin for 2 years without telling me what they would do to me as far as causing a very strong physical and mental dependency after he abruptly stopped giving them to me after 2 years because he said Ive been on them too long. I thought nothing of it until 2 days later when I experienced by far what was the worse physical sickness of my entire life which literaly affected every part and function of my body, including the deepest and darkest mental anguish of sadness, deppresion, anxiety, and anger than amy could imagine due to the fact of my bodies failure to produce any natural dopamine and serotonin hormones which are responsible for our moods. Once I learned that this beyond unbearable feeling was opioid withdraw and all I needed was an oxy or percocet to feel good and normal again al.ost instantly, I was hooked. When pills got too expensive, heroin and fentanyl became a daily must have just so that I could feel normal and not sick. I never stole, robbed, or commited any other crimes other than the crime of purchasing and possessing illegal narcotics. Ive since have gotten help and sober but live with this risk of relapse each day. Being physically dependent does not make u a monster.

      Unacceptable to call her 'that'.
The answer is simple; Developmental disorders happen, this is a broken human being and it sounds like she always has been. And that's sad for everyone around her, but also for her. No one chooses this life. Doesn't make her any less dangerous or any more nice, but it also doesn't make her any less human.

Well if karma is a true fact, one of these days one of her buff black guys is gonna do the same to her as she did to her mother. Her mother it seems at least had the money but we know she didnt have the power in that house hold. This is the exception to the rule Mark. Most people you interview had shitty childhoods. She did not. She was spoiled which brings to mind the other way a person can get narcissistic perosnailty disorder. Being too abused or too spoiled. Did she say she has a job that pays 20.00 an hour and she decideds which homeless people get help and which ones dont? Im agast at that if that is what I heard her say. I'm just a bit younger than her and in some ways I can relate to what she says about the way children who were raised in the depression ended up raising their kids: do what you're told; dress like this, act like that; don't speak up; be seen and not heard. It can be hard to like yourself or to develop a sense of yourself when you're constantly being judged, corrected all the time, and molded in a way that feels entirely unnatural. So at some point, you end up doing one of two things: complying or rebelling. She obviously rebelled, but not in a healthy, productive, or insightful way: it's always about hate, anger, fighting and confrontation; my way or the highway; do what I say, not what I do; no compassion for anyone; self-indulgence in every possible way; and, of course, the worst possible thing...matricide. She seems very smart, but has the insight and emotional IQ of a ten year old. Ugh. This interview was, as they say, "A lot."

This was very paradoxical & intriguing. Excellent work with everyday humans. I'm glad you brought up the ADHD issue. I've long thought maybe those who get hooked on stimulants, specifically with amphetamine base, _may_ have ADHD. I can sleep on my Rx Adderall. I think the medical community needs to look into it further, but I know they'll shy away from giving addicts that similar/same narcotic, even though it is regulated & much safer.

The ADHD thing is real I was an early diagnosis in the very early 80s. I was never on Ritalin which was the predecessor to Adderal. As most will know people with ADHD will have to a predisposition for self medication and addiction, more amphetamines than anything else but all sorts. In my case crystal isn't really available to me as I'm in England I've never seen it once in my life. Amphetamine sulphate is what we get which is dirtier and more toxic, I've never liked it. In my case uppers and downers have the total opposite effect so I got into heroin and benzos which initially make me hyper, then when I crash later I may chill. Any uppers make me really quiet and focused guess you could say I'm a strange cat! Doing OK now I'm in my 40s but the battle is far from over!
