I appreciate you teaching slowly. I recieved my hand pan today and have been practicing- but I found so many people that were like “look it’s easy, 1234…” than start playing a wicked fast banger 😂. It sounds amazing, but I think they’re so good, and it comes so easy they don’t realize how quickly they’re teaching
Really connected with you, I am 65 and playing music since 1968, majoring in guitar and Native American flute. You have a nice approach and I’m grateful for your time and help in this journey ☝🏻
Hello from Germany, I just wanted to say thank you very much, I've only owned my handpan for 4 weeks and I've already learned so much from your videos. I once played drums many years ago and now I find my way back to music, with that wonderfull instrument . You explain everything really well. I hope for many more tutorials from you. Thanks for spendig your Time teaching us ❤️
Your lessons are the MOST helpful, very clear and concise. I'm a musician and harpist, but just started playing handpan. Thanks to you, I'm developing a better understanding and stronger skills. Over the past 2 weeks, you gave me the tools to create new pieces I can actually play!
You really know your stuff about music composition. I fully agree with all your concepts. Not too many people understand the importance of silence in music. The rhythm and pattern of silence is very important.
Thank you Amy for your patience and pace of teaching. I played right left for many years on a Djembe. loved it but all loud and power which really enjoyed therapeutically but now ready for a new start. My Handpan arrives next week a D Celtic and getting warmed up on my desk mat ready. Your style of teaching is ideal for me a real beginner in musical sense as have no idea of notes etc. As head into the Winter months and our tourism business all but closed this is the perfect tonic, so from a 68yr old I say a warm thank you.
This is great! I was taught middle eastern percussion a few decades ago.. by a strict Egyptian traditional teacher. Your emphasis on consistency of tone between hands and slow addition of variations is SPOT ON to getting basics of an instrument so that real progress is possible. Thanks!
Hi, I’m getting a hand pan next week and was looking for inspirational and constructive help. I really like your way of showing and teaching. Super helpful.
Hey, THANK YOU sooo much for your help. I've been working on this video of yours for a few days now. The feeling of my mind breaking away from normal behavior is truly magic. THANK YOU
Amy, I love your style of teaching. I'm doing David Charriers master the Handpan course which I enjoy but I myself yearning for prettier rhythms to learn... and in you I've found them. x
Awesome, thanks Toni. I've found MTH to be really useful for learning the skills needed to find more creativity. I took David's essentials course a few years back, and of course it can only take you so far. I'm glad my videos are a good companion! ☺️
Thank you so much for your great work! You break the exercises down so beautifully in terms of speed and simplicity that even beginners can understand how it works and how to practice it. So valuable! Wishing you all the best!
I just bought my handpan and I am very grateful I found your videos. It’s amazing how you teach, I really love your kindness and patience, especially for the new beginners like me. Thank you very much 😊
Vos explications sont limpides et votre démonstration convaincante. Bravo et merci ! I find your explanations clear and your demonstration convincing. Well done and thank you! 💐
Hi Amy, I'm fairly old and musically inept but I do love the sound of these things. After watching your vid I took the plunge and bought a tongue pan (it was what I could afford). I'm now looking forward to it's arrival and annoying everyone in earshot.
Ich mag deine Videos sehr. Sie sind toll Schritt für Schritt und liebevoll erklärt. Man bekommt direkt Spaß, mit dir zu üben. Vielen lieben Dank dafür. 😊👍
Hello. I follow you from Turin Italy. I am not a musician and I have a hard time learning. I just started. I don't know english ... I use the translator. I hope to succeed thanks to you.😍
The most effective learning tools I have come across on the handpan made it so much more understandable the way you have set it up, it’s fun ,steps to practice flow ,it’s just a beautiful approach …nice and easy …you make it user friendly one could say thank you thank you
You taught me, for what I was looking for, amazing, thank you so much 😊🦅 I always wondered how to get the beat and the percussion into the song. After teaching myself with pattern tutorials and exploring around them, I now have the knowhow to level 🆙
I did not know that I was doing this technique all along by myself. And Amy you confirmed this for me. So awesome. So simple. No need for joining class that teaches set notes written for one to ‘get’ the hand of it. I think your style will rhyme with those who want to approach playing the Handpan calmly, intuitively, and with a little sound sense as you have shown us. I’m a Subscriber to your channel and will certainly like to listen to your beautiful but simple playing style. I completely connect with you because it feels the best way to playing the Handpan.🥰
Dear Amy, this tutorial is just genius! Tonight I have understood so much looking at it and! Thank you so much. You’re such a wonderful musician and teacher 🤗🥰🤩
Wow Amy! Like so many others I'm sure I will watch & use this video many times to get better at playing on auto pilot. Just the guidance we needed. Thanks!!!!!
Enjoy your teaching ways, by far the best HPan teacher, really love your approach, in some way I connect with you, I play much in auto pilot a lot, still need to practice more my non dominant hand, but it's getting better. Thanx mi lady
Just stumbled upon this, and I'm grateful I did. I've been listening to handpan music while I do my computer work and hoping maybe someday I could get one. That may not happen, but seeing you explain this provides me with an opportunity to listen to the music more deeply and appreciate what I am hearing with more detail. Thank you!

Unbelievable!! I've started producing some simple yet harmonious melodies thanks to you!! I bought a small panda drum a few months ago but I could just produce some funny sounds. When I came across your video I thought, I'd give it a last try. And here I am playing... right from the first attempt! Oh, Amy, thank you so much!! You're amazing!! Thank you! Thank you!! 🌹

Fantastic Lesson! Thank you Amy. I am now following and learning with your lessons. Ive been playing for about 5 years and this lesson was one of my favorite of all time and easy to follow and replicate with success.
Once you've really internalised that rhythm and got that dominant hand going, you don't need the counting so much. Like you say, repetition and get it in your body 😊
🛸Take this technique to the next level with Autopilot Bassline🛸 ua-cam.com/video/19fzJdMuVMY/v-deo.html
Very good exercise for Poly rhythm thanks you Amy
