Apex Attitude not necessarily true. Some drivers use tires specially catered to drifting.

Love the sound! But I feel like it's too much motor for that chassis. For example, in some areas the car just seems to slide without the motor even revving.

Exactly. V8's are better for drifting anyways, but because it's not JDM, has a name like Hjsb26shjfbs, and has vape pouring out of it it's all of a sudden "unreliable" and "terribly engineered". *Lmao.*
Speedy Spartan I personally have nothing against 2j or rb or rotarys
But ffs I can do a full swap WITH a lighter engine and the same power! With an ls vs 2j
I can get a FULL LONG BLOCK for 500 dollars
That with a tune alone will make 350
Cam and springs 450 easily and well into 7+k rpm
Spend some big bucks on valve train you can get into 8k
You don't need to get an intake
Stock is PLENTY fine and same for heads
Both flow extremely well
But ffs what other engine can you get for 500 bucks race ready for 1k wheel ( gen 4 rods and pistons )
I don't hate "jdm" stuff either. In fact I want a subaru! It's just all these idiots that know nothing. Like you said it's cheap, but it also has power benefits. With a 2jz all the power comes up top high in the rev range when the turbo is spooling, and thats bad. A proper drifting setup only has a 4 speed trans with tall gears to minimize shiting lowering room for error. That means you would want lots of torque down low to keep you spinning. 2jz dont have that much torque at the bottom of the rev range cuz the turbo isn't spooling. Plus v8's are more reliable making power and their more compact too. You don't need space for a turbo, intercooler, or all that piping. People need to learn their facts. (Also like you said, they're cheaper to build and you don't have to import them which costs an ass load).

idk maybe the v8 is just capable of more power, and runs more stable than the stock engine
