- It's obvious that our bud Carl Thompson is no stranger to high horsepower, super rowdy builds - all super clean, and well thought out. Including Hert's dream GS300 drift car that he used to own, with a twin turbo 4 rotor stuffed under the hood. Now, he brings his absolutely rowdy V8 "small block with big block cubic inches" competition car. With one of the best sounding V8s we've ever heard in our lives.

My heart stopped when he came out the box shredding and drifted the corner with literally the front bumper in between the wire barrel 😱 that's god level drifting!
When you get the tyre spinning, the friction between the tyre and the tarmac superheats the rubber to as much as 400 degrees (though this does depend on the length of the burnout). This melts the rubber tread, vapourising the chemicals and oil within it, sending these molecules into the air. The vapourised molecules then cool quickly and condense in the air, becoming the visible white ‘smoke’ you see - it’s actually more like steam than smoke though,
A burnout is basically making clouds 😊

Hand down, the best burnyard so far! Normally I'm not a fan of V8's in JDM cars but for this thing...how could you not love it?! Just listen to it! Pure aggression straight from the start, and definitely the best driving I've seen in there yet. 10/10

That engine is basically an Australian Pro Stock build. Down there pro stock is based around a 400 inch small block formula.
American Pro Stock use 500ci big blocks making well over 1500 horses

When drifting really took off, there was a lot of mocking of the "no replacement for displacement" saying - but I'll be damned if times haven't changed! In no one's wildest dreams would they expect their to be so many pushrods in drifting circa 2019!

The Ford RTR drift team doesn't use pressure chargers either. They run like 850hp off of N/A engines with a extra 300hp with 100shots of N²O to add to it...
You shoud see sprint 410. Those fuckers put up like +900hp na from oldschool smallblocks w/ sb2 heads, and they dont have a flywheel at all. Only like top fuel revs faster
