Yes it was Loree, it really was. I haven't had so much fun in a long time and meeting Matt in person and seeing all those beautiful ukes, can't really ask for more.
Love the Ukulele Market. What’s not to love. 💜 But the ukulele factory and repair shop, luthier’s shop are wonderful as well. All those silent ukulele waiting to bring ukulele music to their players. Not to mention the good natured makers and repair people that love putting a ukulele right. Cor! Thanks for sharing 🤙🏽🎶🌺🌴
Fantastic Rachel. I was there last Friday for an outing from Wales. I was equally impressed and Matt was equally lovely! Still thinking about my purchase - other than the obligatory t- shirt - so arranging to go back soon for a fitting 😊
Lush to hear Huw, nice little journey too (apart from the heads of the valley!!). Missed you by a few days but we all couldn't have fitted! So........ what did you buy?
Looking for tenor upgrade but can’t decide so Matt suggested a return trip in a couple of months for proper testing . Not a problem as it was a lovely day out and lunch next door was fab too so happy to go there again in the Autumn. Sorry I missed you both - just a week out!
Two of my favourite teachers in the same room. Wonderful. I hope to visit the Uke Room one day. Loving your ukuleles. Just love your enthusiasm. I also live the uke community. Looking forward to hearing the Lava. Best wishes.
Awhhh, Thank You Lisa, that is such a lovely comment to read, really loved it. You should try and get there one day, Matt is so lovely and the ukes...........................
I called in at The Uke Room fo r a browse, back in May on my way through to Fishguard. My browse turned into a Cordoba 35T low g purchase! Beautiful countryside….almost as pretty as Pembrokeshire.
Thank you so much. A brilliant trip and I would so love to visit the Uke room. A little difficult being in Australia. Can you name the piece Matt played? It was captivatingly lovely. Hope you have many more days like this one. Cheers
Thank You, it really was a fabulous day and hopefully there will be more days like this. Sorry, I didn't ask Matt the nameof the piece, it was so beautiful though and his playing was awesome. Very glad you enjoyed.
What an inspirational trip, Rachel. Loved "meeting" Matt, I'll pop over and subscribe ASAP. I've always wanted a Lava, I'm saving up for one right now. You've never steered me wrong in the past and I've just received my Enya Nova concert, and I'm loving it.
What a great vlog Rachel...I follow Matt's videos and would love to see his Uke store, lots of lovely instruments there. Absolutely love your two new babies. x
My heart literally skips a beat every time your camera turns toward or away from you while you're driving! I think it's because you drive on the left side of the road 🙃 2 fabulous new ukuleles. Looking forward to your reviews, especially on the Lava!
Sorry Shirl, don't panic though, I literally press one button on the camera and it's all automatic and I am definitely dringin on the correct side (I hope! ;-) )
@@UkuleleWales thank you for replying, iam near Caerphilly ish , so its not far. I still struggling to strum , so now enjoying learning an playing Bach Cello Suites for Ukeleleu which is Chord melody , hopefully one day i will also grasp the strumming.
I can't wait to hear more about the Lava U! I was having a little trouble hearing/understanding you and Matt in the shop, so I turned on the closed captions. In his Einstein's desk story, the auto-generated caption says "... came up with uh inferior relativity..." UA-cam won't let me post a screen shot, so you'll just have to turn on the CC and see for yourself. (It also thinks Matt is called matt's dead.)
That is hilarious Cate, Thanks for pointing it out, I can get a video shot off it........ I've never thought about it so I'll have to check out some of the other captions in other videos! So glad you enjoyed though and yes, I'll get playing the Lava to find out what it's like then do a little vid.
That was a wonderful video. Thanks so much for taking us along. Look forward to hearing your purchases in future videos. And thanks for introducing me to Matt Stead. I'm in the U.S., so I'd heard the name but I'm definitely going to explore his efforts further after "meeting" him here. And again, the scenery was lovely.
Thanks Frank, yes Matt really is a very wonderful gentleman who is an absolute gem in the world ukulele community. Glad you enjoyed the trip too, we did have a fantastic day!
@@UkuleleWales I did buy a stick on strap pin and I've got a lovely doctor who strap waiting to go on it, but it's a case of can't be bothered and maybe ill just sit down to play it.
I see you've taken up ukulele smuggling Rachael b.t.w If you don't know how many ukulele s you own it means you are almost normal . Congratulations on the sopranino uke my friend bought one a few years ago and struggled with it and gave it to me in disgust when I managed to play a diminished 7th on it even though my hands are bigger than his (he says it looks like someones chucked a pound of sausages on the neck when I play it😊😊🇫🇴👍
What a fun time! AND what a great store. You are lucky.

Just tired to reply to you , an my reply seems to read its from ukelele wales oops
I had noticed, before, but you’ll have to consider adding the Uke Room as a link in the Shops section of your website.

I've been wanting to go there for a long time must make the effort to go now ,but can I justify another uke 🤔
Go Margaret, Matt is fab & the shop is wonderful, set in a stunning location 😀 xx
As Jude say, you must try and visit Margaret and of course you can justify a new uke, just going is enough of a reason! ;-)

Hi Colin, it's the "Ukulele Reference Book", I'll add a link below.
