Just yesterday I questioned myself about the difference between acoustic and electric amps... and now ... here is the answer 🤓 thank you! One thing in addition: you can plug an other ukulele in an acoustic guitar amp instead of the micro, so you can play with two instruments and one amp.
Such a fun approach to teaching! Thank you for putting this video together for all of us. From music theory, and sing alongs, to "intro to Amps" all of your videos are well done.
Agree, a great little amp with a lovely tone. TBH I don't think I've needed phantom so it's not something I'd even thought about. Yes, now you mention it, it is a shame.
I got a Roland Cube Street cheap off Ebay. Only 5Watts but sooo many amp emulations to play with and a whole rake of effects too. It's very useful being battery powered too.
Thank you for an excellent guide. I am on the lookout for a new ukulele. What is the make and model of the electro-acoustic you had plugged in to the amp towards the end there?
Hi Gary, it's the Snail SR-04CE concert ukulele. I got it from SUS www.southernukulelestore.co.uk/shop-by-brand/snail/snail-sr-04ceq-solid-acacia-electro-acoustic-concert-ukulele-with-gigbag/
Thank you for your video. I have bought an acoustic-electric Uke and I really love it! I also bought effect pedals and the sounds are really amazing :D Thank you so much again :)
I have personally tried either but I have looked at the Orange mini in the past and wondered? Personally I'd go with the Orange but I'd be interested to know which one you got in the end and what you think of it.
Directly to the point. I love it. Nothing I didnt know but I loved the way you explain it :) Ive listen some ppl asking sounding like joking: why to connect that to a amp? And after saying: WTF!!?? :)
Thanks so much Rachel. Am thinking of dipping my toe into electro mini bass ukuleles. I really am very grateful for all your videos but particularly the ones on bass ukes and equipment. Happy Easter. Best wishes.
Many thanks for your excellent video's I have just bought a second hand amp on eBay which has a compression button, low, medium, high and volume, your input would be much appreciated with regard to settings.many thanks David
Excellent news David, fab to hear. Compression sort of evens out the sound overall so that can help the overall sound. The low, medium and high will be the EQ settings which will alter the tone of your sound and of course volume. I tend to like a bit more low, and a bit less high but really it is only by messing with the settings you'll find "your perfect sound" and of course this can change with different instruments. Hope that helps, have fun!
I use this headset one but TBH I prefer using a "normal" mic as you can move away from it. If you are wearing a headset one, you have to be careful not to have it too close to your mouth because it can distort and difficult if you need to cough! www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07M6JCRXR/
I Love your videos. They're real simple, informative and full of delights! I'd love to hear you Rock Out on that hard body when your husband is out of the house! 🦋
I bought a Harley Benton Ubass Mahogany and then a glarry electric bass amplifier GB-20. And have been unable to get any sound from it. How do I connect it to get the electric sound? I tried using a mixer on my computer and I tried using a bass amplifier with a straight plug. How did you get the sound as I'm unable to afford a Fender and have a gig in a week LOL? so far the only solution I'm thinking is having a mic near the bass to pickup the sound.. Any setup or walkthrough on how to get the electric sound? Or is it simply I have to get a specific amplifier for acoustic amp?
Hopefully you have solved the issue, sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. If you haven’t fixed it, you need to work through things logically. Make sure amp is plugged into power, check the tuner on the bass ukulele is turned off, is the bass plugged into the correct input etc. 👍
HI, it depends, some ukuleles need a battery some don’t What model is it and does it have a tuner. Sometimes it can be as simple as the tuner being left switched on. Check this video as out as it may solve your problem but if not, please feel free to come back and ask more. ua-cam.com/video/DyWiYV9qcYE/v-deo.html
Hi, it depends on the amp. If it has 2 inputs, generally one if not both inputs will take a microphone but if the amp only has one input it will only take the uke / guitar / bass. Hope that helps.

Great minds think alike then! Yes, I should have mentioned it will take two instruments hence the 2 multi inputs.

Glad you enjoyed it and Thank Yu for the lovely comment.
Wow Rachel, that new uke brought tears to my eyes...you rock god you 💕
Thanks Hilary, it really is a thing of beauty. Hope you are keeping well, I'll see you soon.
Love my little Fender Acoustasonic, shame about the lack of phantom power for condenser mic's! Another great vid Rachel!

I bet your students love their rocker teacher with that overdive on.
Some of them do Rebecca, in fact I had the Risa in school yesterday and I think I shocked a few too.
Thanks for another great video. That little Marshall would make a good practice amp to carry room to room. Thanks again and be well.
Thanks Michael, and yes the Marshall is very light and easy to grab and move.
You rock on girl! I love your video. I am looking into getting a electric acoustic ukulele. You gave me something to think about.
Thanks Stewart. yes, go for it, the electro acoustics are so much fun and very versitile.
I got a Roland Cube Street cheap off Ebay. Only 5Watts but sooo many amp emulations to play with and a whole rake of effects too. It's very useful being battery powered too.
Fabulous to hear George. I have considered one a few times for the battery option. Maybe one day.
I’ve been needing this. Thank you.
Glad to have been of help Mary.
Thank you so much for explaining what type of amps to use for what instruments❤ You are an excellent teacher😊
My pleasure Sylvia, so glad to be helping.
All hail the ukulele players and there Master
With you on that one Lance Corporal
@@UkuleleWales could you ybe consider a video with a super tenor
@@GoatGuitars6 I haven't got a super tenor sorry but there might be a video on the Southern Ukulele store channel if that helps.
Any videos on using Amp Sims on the computer?
Thanks . I hope to get a amp and mic stand combo soon as I can.
Fab to hear, hope you have fun with them.

Your lovely personality makes learning fun 😁. Thanks for sharing so much.
Thank You for such a nice comment. Glad you enjoyed.
Iv been thinking about getting the donner cyclops or the orange crush mini 🤔
I have personally tried either but I have looked at the Orange mini in the past and wondered? Personally I'd go with the Orange but I'd be interested to know which one you got in the end and what you think of it.
@Ukulele Wales Love all your videos! Where did you get your cool ukulele straps?
Thanks Donna. I generally get my straps from StrapForChords, here is their Ebay shop - www.ebay.co.uk/usr/traci56guineapigs
Directly to the point. I love it. Nothing I didnt know but I loved the way you explain it :)

Great to hear from you Lisa and even better to hear you're thinking about getting into the bass ukes. Give me a shout if you have any questions.
Thanks Rachel. Will do. It feels a bit daunting.

People say that I need a microphone when I sing along. I was thinking a head set would be best with blue tooth. Have you used any that you like?

I have an orange 35rt amplifier ... Will it work on an electroacoustic uke?...thank you so much!!!

Is it better to convert my ukulele to eiectric or to buy one that's ready electric
Personally I’d try and buy an electric model as it is just easier but it is possible to fit your own or indeed have a shop or luthier fit one. 👍
Are all the cables compatible what Jack size should l buy for a Flight tiny 6 portable amp ?
Yes, you use a "normal" guitar cable - 6.3mm (1/4″)
@@UkuleleWales Thank you l have ordered one but thought it would be just my luck if it didn’t fit ? 🤣
do you need to put battery into the Ukulele pickup? i connected mine without battery and there was no sound

Thanks Rachel. As always you can teach old dogs new tricks! 😂
You're so welcome as always Loree.
Hello Rachel, can I use a Peavey Max 126 Bass amp with the ukulele?
Yes, no problem at all. It is fine using a bass amp with a ukulele, just not a bass with a guitar / ukulele amp as the fequencies are too low.
@@UkuleleWales Thx
Where does the microphone hookup?
Hi, it depends on the amp. If it has 2 inputs, generally one if not both inputs will take a microphone but if the amp only has one input it will only take the uke / guitar / bass. Hope that helps.
It doesn't even have to be purple, made me LOL!
Obviously it would be better in purple though (anything)! LOL
Why do you talk to us as if we are stupid ??
Hi, this video is aimed at folk who have never set up an electric instrument and amp so I have kept it as basic as possible.
nice lady help mongo very much mongo happy 🤤
