I solved my issue by not using a cheaper sewing thread. I had bought very cheap Birch thread. Changed to Gutterman. Amazing difference to the stitches not doing weird loop every so often and wonky stitches on the back of sewing.
you left out one thing about "RE-threading the machine" - I have one sewing machine that the thread must "wind off" the spool in a certain direction (over vs under) - I have found 9 times out of 10 skipped stitches are due to me threading the machine wrong not just because of not paying attention but because I have more than one sewing machine and each one must be threaded differently - like sewing machines are not always threaded alike
Thank you so much for your tips, Professor Pincushion. Changing the needle and for a more suitable type, rewinding the bobbin entirely and loosening its screw slightly, along with using Gutermann thread have resolved this issue which was stopping me from using my machine! Happy sewing everybody!
Check the pressure adjustment of the presser foot if your sewing multiple thicknesses that could be different like that velour stuff that resembles bubble wrap... Full pressure needed here to avoid skipped stitches. Change the needle to universal if using stretch needle or Chrome. Sometimes the machine just wants a plain Jane needle. Also once my thread was poking out too far from the Bobbin when I started winding it after inserting the Bobbin the little bit of thread poking out of the hole of the Bobbin interfered with the wrapped Bobbin thread and when I cut it off flush with the top of the Bobbin. No more skipped stitches. Seems the machine was confused which thread it was supposed to use.
This video lacks a lot of information, including the fact that if you zre working on a slippery fabric, the stitches tend to slip. There are many hacks online to prevent it though
What’s the best needle to use on denim? I am using clear invisible thread so it’s very thin and fine and regular thread in the bobbin. Thanks in advance x

Omg This video saved me 🙄 None of the videos showed me that the needle could be the problem😂 Thank u so much!!

Oh my god, I just fumbled around with the tension for hours, apparently my needle wasn't in the holder all the way... Thank you!

great advice! :D
What if it is only one type of material?????

You could read your sewing machine manual or Google about it.
I was LITERALLY having this issue this morning! Good to know

Is minky fabric “that velour stuff that resembles bubble wrap”?
yup, also known as devil fabric ;D
@@ProfessorPincushion I like that. Best name yet!
how about when my straight stitches is normal but when i do zigzag stitches it skipped
Hey. What if the thread comes out of the needle when you start sewing/press the pedal... ...how can i fix this?
Also having this problem!
You may not have enough of a tail
Do the first couple of stitches with the hand wheel to make sure it’s secure, then start sewing
Another thought is tension. If the tension is really high, the thread may not be able to move.
you need to have a long tail pulled through, or your thread is too weak and snaps as soon as you start stitching
Really helpful
My top thread is going under the bottom
