I've been around the music industry since I was 12 years old. I'm now 57. It generally takes a lot for me to be impressed, but I cannot for the life of me. Stop watching this guy. Play, the showmanship , the pure perfect tempo modified tempo. The ad libs are beyond anything I've ever seen. Just amazing! Simply amazing! It's nice to be surprised every once in a while and this is great 👊😎

@@cainification ad lib it's just another term for being able to change or add something different to anything that you're playing saying or doing. In other words, being able to modify the beat and change the beat up to fit the way he plays and still fit the song😎

@@joshuatavares2384 its called practice. Alot of fills are just doubles and triplets with some buzz rolls mixed in. Im not saying he is not good far from it but realistically speaking if you practiced rudiments continuously and not just mindlessly play ur favorite songs, you will advance ur speed and technique. This is a known fact.

No buddy, actually he has told in a video that he practices around 10 hours per day, so he spends more than 50 hours weekly of training and learning drums, he actually thinks talent doesn’t exist, it’s all a matter of practice and studying, discipline as well

@@Steve_912 well, it's a given that he practices very hard to play at that level. I don't think there's anything he can't pull off, he's ultra versatile and does it often with one hand, it's crazy. I don't quite agree that he thinks talent doesn't exist, however. Without a certain minimum of talent, one can't reach a respectable level of playing. But yes, practice makes perfect, definitely.

@@Julian5218hHis skills and technique are something to behold but when we start talking about the “best”, there has to be a body of original work that accompanies that skill. I’m not doubting he has that in him either but I think we need to hear more.
Always impossible to compare eras because as humans we build off those before us…an advanced sequence in the 50s gets done by children in the 60s 70s turning it into a rudimentary starting point…and so it keeps going.

I play the VR music game Beat Saber and I can play up to six cubes/sec. For a 43y old, not bad....
And then Germany's Top 2 in Beat Saber showed me a video where she plays with 20 cubes/sec. I've never seen something like this.
I think, it's the same when you watch this clip.
(In Beat Saber you have to cut cubes with laserswords. But that would be too easy.... so you have two different colors (cubes+swords) and they have to match.... aaaand the most cubes have a defined cut direction. 6-9kcal/min)

@@trialstar it's such a weird thing to say talent isn't involved here. Seems like some people think acknowledging talent diminishes the work put in. Talent isn't just someone being good at a particular skill from the start (although that can definitely be something that happens), it can be having an affinity for something that still takes a lot of work to make it come to fruition. This guy seems to have put in a crazy amount of work and... yes... backed up with talent... is now able to do crazy stuff on drums.

@@9VENDETTA it’s unique, not a lot of DT fans appreciate it that I’ve talked to. Sure it’s edgy- even overdone at times, but it’s from 2003 which was the peak of Nu Metal. Stream of Consciousness is extremely haunting, and Endless Sacrifice has to be my favorite ballad from them.
