    Hey carl what's up man, the steel hose on the high-pressure fuel pump that line can flex. Your technically supposed to replace the line Hyundai/kia manufacture request for the customer to replace that line. Anyways just wanted to put a tip on here you dd a good job on replacing that valve cover. I was a Hyundai technician for 5 years way back. I work at Toyota now. if you got any questions man i got you, great video. I kinda want to start making videos to also help people out.

      Hey! I have to do this very job in 2 days. I have all the tools and am an amateur mechanic. I did the knock sensor start to finish in 90 minutes on this motor if that helps. How long should this valve cover job take start to finish and what should I charge the customer. I have my own synthetic mobile change business, but do other light to intermediate repairs to. Thanks.

      @@elmayimbe_the_amateur_mechanic This whole job should take about 1.5 - 2 hours. This includes cleaning out the valve cover and cleaning the mating surface on the cylinder head.

    This was one of the best videos and explanation of the repair for the valve cover gasket replacement. I would say excellent filming by the wife, good zooming when necessary. You took the time to explain everything and really didn't leave anything out. Kudos!! My wife has a 2016 Kia Optima LX 2.4L GDI. At 125,000 there is what I suspected to be some burning oil going on but I also see oil at the rear of the Valve cover pretty much along the mating surface. You can see trace amounts of glistening oil. I noticed on an oil change today that oil has dripped down on the CV boot, and some other components. Yeah, its looking like the gasket has failed....You say 8-10 hours? Couldn't it be shorter? I noticed you could have used a Impact drill driver with some universal sockets to speed it up. Just saying...Otherwise GREAT JOB!!!

      Yea it took that long due to filming. If your wife has this car make sure she has the KSDS when the engine fails. So she’s protected, and get the free engine replacement.

      @@StraightOuttaContent Uh, what's the KSDS? There is what we feel is kind of skipped acceleration off the Green Light. Slight hesitation. I think uncovering the Throttle body and cleaning it out good of spraying the throttle body cleaner might help. Recently changed spark plugs last year too. Have you experience that too? Of course unrelated to the Valve cover gasket issue fix. Some Kia forums are useless, nobody responds in a few months while looking for the same situation with acceleration with other drivers.

    Thanks for a great pair of videos about this gasket replacement! Your video was super-clear and instructive to a novice like me. I was able to access the bolt under the fuel line by flexing it slightly - this did not seem excessive. I also noticed that the Fels-Pro gasket does not fit for me and some others around one particular bolt (the middle one on the timing chain cover). The gasket has too big of a kink on the rear side of the bolt hole, causing it to jump out of the channel. I fixed this with some weatherstrip adhesive, which I also used lightly in the opposite corner near the fuel pump. The thing is, the valve cover and gasket is meant to be universal for 2013 Optimas. It’s almost like the Fels-Pro design is a little defective?

    No need to remove all those lower and bolts on the fuel line. The metal fuel line can be slowly and gently bent to the side (do not link line). The fuel lines are manufactured in a 100 lb round coil, cut and bent at the factory into their current shape.

    Quit question, where did you buy? Your valve cover. I bought my valve cover on eBay. Came with the gasket, only one gasket didn't come with the other gasket. That goes over the high pressure fuel pump.? Just ordered it now. I gotta wait came and drive my car. Hopefully you can answer this real quick stuck in a pickle. I just ordered the one you have listed and your bio on Amazon.

      No problem, if you have a Kia though you have bigger problems. Please check out all my videos on the Kia engine settlement. Those cars engines will fail and when they do, if you don’t have the ksds installed you won’t get your new engine. Consider grabbing my book www.flashcustomtransfers.com/product/kiahyundaienginehandbook/265 or just watching all my videos here and on @carlsgarage

      @@socalevo53 Yea ummm that’s not where the oil burns from. There is a major recall on these Theta 2 engines. Hence all the videos after this one. Car still burned oil. Lucky I had the ksds so when the engine blew I would have got a new engine. I got rid of the car before that happened. Might want to watch all my videos here and on @carlsgarage cause if you don’t have the ksds, you’re going to be shit outta luck when that engine blows. And it will blow

    • @StraightOuttaContent
      @StraightOuttaContent  9 місяців тому +1

      Holy shit ummmm man. You have 2 options. You can call the dealer and find out how much Kia charges and then charge that amount too or start at like $400-$500. If I had to do one today I’d charge $400. It took me a long time because of the damn high pressure fuel regulator. They didn’t make it easy to remove or put back.

    You asked me what is wrong with my KIA soul. I tried to reply but it wouldn't "comment." I have to use this comment area. My weird laptop? 2014 Kia Soul with a 2.0 engine. Replaced valve cover gasket 4 times, last time with an OEM valve cover gasket set. Still leaking oil.... Afraid there may be a crack in the engine. It was taken to a KIA dealer for the knock detection software update and a recall on rod bearing connection and a steering pin recall too. KIA Soul is not covered in the 2.0 GDI engine recall....... I have a sinking feeling in my stomach about this.

    • @StraightOuttaContent
      @StraightOuttaContent  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you're correct. The soul was left out and a lot of people are suffering. You might be able to sell it or trade it in. Might be time to move to a toyota. They run forever
