      Thanks for your service! And I hope they last for you. I was just up camping in them and wound up pushing a truck out of a snow and mud situation in these. One year of use and still going strong over here.

    This or Anacapa 2 mid GTX? I'm undecided - thanks! Limited in choice in Eastern Canada!

      Oh dang. That’s a tough one! I like the Trail Code a little more. For my feet 🦶 and the level of grip it has, I prefer them. Hope that helps!

    Thanks for the review. Just bought these in a size 12. They fit ok but are narrower than expected. Debating on returning.

      I wish these had the same toe width as the Kaha. Or other Hoka's, only the Kaha's seem to be a bit wider at the toe

    The outsole and midsole looks like hoka anacapa's..
    How about if we compared that with hoka Speedgoat?

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  Рік тому +3

      The outsole is very similar, but the midsole is much more forgiving on the Trail Code. It has been a few years since I had the Speedgoat, but from what I recall, the TC and Speedgoat have a similar feel. Perhaps the Speedgoat being a little lighter. I have a meeting with Hoka next week and can see if we can do a side by side with them.

    Can you help me understand the difference between trail code gtx vs Anacapa 2 ?

  • @beatrizgarcia3448

    My bf ordered his first pair of hokas and he got these and after 2 easy hikes the outer soles were peeling we submitted a claim and got a new pair so we’re hoping it doesn’t happen again but he loves them says they are comfortable just need to wear high socks because they do rub on the ankles 😊

    I love my HOKA Trail Code GTX. Those works great in rocky and stable dry terrain, however the outsole it's like the same as anakapa and other HOKA's. Just be prepared for low performance when you have soft soil and mud 🤷‍♂

    Hi. Thanks for your video. What about the toe protection? Is the toe cap rigid enough?

  • @ThomasHanifen
    @ThomasHanifen 9 місяців тому

    I have had a pair for about 6 months and love them. The only issue is that debris, like leaves etc gets in them. The easy slide on effect comes at a price, but in my opinion totally worth it.

    What’s the better choice between trail code, anacapa and kaha? Looking for an all season shoe for coastal and fall hikes… thanks

    Would you recomended these for a 20 mile hike with about 1000 feet of total elevation or would my Speedgoat 5s do (regular not GTX or spiked)

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  3 місяці тому

      Hello! Great question. I suppose it would depend on the terrain and time of year. And if you are backpacking or hiking. I have done several 1000ft + hikes in both. But not 20 miles. I would opt for the ankle support of the Trail Code for the longer hike. But I have donw plenty of 6-8 mile hikes in the Speedgoat and been fine. Not sure if this helped. But hope it did!

    Highly, highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE. I wear these for my Duty Boots for the Fire Department. I work for the big city department making close to 100,000 calls a year. These are legit the best tactical/hiking boots ever.
    I’ve also expressed this to my Law Enforcement Friends, and they have purchased these as well. They have told me that they love them and have worked great for them.
    Again, if you work in public safety, and are looking for a comfortable shoe; buy these. Promise, you won’t regret it.

    Is it ok to wear in snow and extreme cold?

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  11 місяців тому +2

      I suppose that depends. I have used them down to 20F with regular socks with ease. Snow would be fine. I dont think these would be my first choice for extreme cold or anything in single digits F. Hope that helps!

    Few points...1) Except for Speedgoats, Hoka just seem to have a strange fit for my feet (very subjective, I know) 2) I'd assume non water proof version is coming (meaning lighter, more breathable, and faster to dry up) 3) Whatever happened to Arkali...I called Hoka and they had no answer....they released 2 other shoes at that time, hyped it up and then it disappeared without any explanation. Weird

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  Рік тому

      I am not sure about the non Gore-Tex version. We have a meeting with them soon and I can ask about that as well as the Arkali. Thanks!

    How is the width on these, I love my speedgoats, but I'm looking for a mid in a wide, they don't specifically label any of their mid hikers as wide?

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  Рік тому

      Hello! I would say mid wide. More wide than the Speedgoats (at least the ones I used a few years ago). Not wide like a Xero, but wider than some shoes. Hope that helps!

      Thank you for the nice note! I feel that the Trail Code is more comfortable and not as heavy. Both are good, but my feet love the Trail Code more. Hope that helps!
