This is their second album. The first album is called Black Sabbath. The first song on that album is named Black Sabbath. So it’s Black Sabbath on Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath.
not smokin and drinkin, my friend - its smokin and TRIPPING as in acid as in LSD remeber the year !!! we all blasted this song at every gathering NOTHING like the first 2 sabbath and the first 2 led zeppelins albums had ever been done EVER we were all freaking out !! especially at the time !!WILD DAYS OF MY HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE YEARS both were great live as well and were big events -first time i saw led z in Indianapolis the headline of the newspaper in big letters was LED ZEPPELIN DESTROYS INDIANAPOLIS!!!
@@Andy_Tunereviews84 i see you might have misinterpreted it and these comments don’t help either. it’s a song referencing skinheads(pre-racist) who got caught up in a tussle with the band. geezer our lord and savior on bass wrote the song and damn near all the lyrics :))
FWIW, a lot of people over the years have said the "first" heavy metal recording was by the band, Blue Cheer, and specifically their cover of 'Summertime Blues', originally by Eddie Cochran in the late 1950's. I can't say whether those people are right, but neither can I point to a strong example in rebuttal. It was very, VERY different to my young ears at 15 when it hit the air waves.
In my view Blue Cheer are heavy and blew every other band in 1968 out of the water with sheer overdriven volume, and I am a fan. But they didn't have all the characteristics of heavy metal. As for example the bleak lyrics and the consistency as Sabbath had. Blue Cheer started out heavy, but later developed a more overall psychedelic style.
Thanks, @@megamaniac7402. My comment was that a lot of people have said that the "'first' heavy metal recording was by the band, Blue Cheer." etc. It seems to me the band's cover of 'Summertime Blues' comes up in most any discussion of the history of "Heavy Metal" whereas personally, this is the first I'm learning of bleakness of lyrics as integral. My mind goes to the many instrumental works in the genre, e.g., 'Metallica's 'Orion.'
@@PuJitois it was a real break lyrically from the flower power times that was before. Lyrics derived directly from the dirty industrial environments harboring the english working class. That's also a big difference between Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Zeppelin stuck to old blues standard- and a sort of folky fantasy lyrics. Sabbaths lyrics complemented the heaviness and doomy feeling of their music as they evolved from their blues background.
Superb Andy,Ozzy and Geezer were on cannabis and were seeing faries in boots in the park, also a reference to skinheads at the time being a bit threatening to them because of their long hair!🎸🥁💯

Great Intro mate. You have to nod your head this is. Faireys wearing boots, you know they had to be on some good acid that day.
Thanks Steve👍
@@Andy_Tunereviews84 No problem brother. Love your channel.

He's talking about actual fairies, as in the tooth fairy, fairy God mother, pixies, elves, etc. Acid makes you see a lot of strange things man.
Thanks Lowell. I can imagine👍✌️
