I'm a huge horror aficionado and one who had his dose of the madam koin koin story back in school. I don't believe I'm saying this, but this is the first time I'll genuinely be excited to see a Nigerian horror film. Please don't ruin this.
We promise we won’t ruin it. You are going to love this film.
You can set a reminder now on Netflix and add it to your list. 🤗
Thank you looking forward
@displayuniversal I just love the trailer. Nice work.
I am Wilson, an English to French Translator and Subtitler. I wish to work with your companies on african contents (not only african contents though).
Please
Same as well!
@@displayuniversalher name is lady koi koi
Story told to students in secondary school hostels among others
As a Ghanaian, this is awesome 😂😂. Reminds me of senior high school boarding days and all the horror stories that come with it. Madam koi koi is universal
I remember a story called Madam Mok in peters from Kumasi. Scary moments.
Waow…. Thought it was just in nigeria
@@anastasiak7305 it’s basically the same story with different names and variations. There’s miss high heels, miss corridor, madam mok, etc. Either way red hills that make noise on the corridors at night.
@@iwueseandreayogh9435 all across Africa. Our own urban legend 😂😂
In Ghana we call it madam moke😂😂😂😂
I remember wanting to write a horror flick on madam koi-koi, still up on my list alongside the bush baby and old Roger . Wow this is great, I hope it reaches and surpasses expectations!
Let's Collab I love horror writing I have some pretty original stories
Is this a writing pool? Please add me 😄
hi we can do a collab on the bush baby and old roger since they have already done the miss koi koi , however my own version of miss koi koi is dated in 2023 . So probably a sequel or something ....just dropping this off here ..Anyways is cool to see that nigerians have like minds in stuff like this
@@user-vf1sh8oz9n I'm a Ghanaian. I don't know about Bush Baby and Old Roger. I'll need briefing, pls.
Also interested, I want to join the collab
I'm African American, and I love seeing and learning of the African myths and folklore being told by the people who own them. The tales rival any told by Westerners.
As a Nigerian Canadian I too luv it and appreciate your interest in the subject. "Madam Koi koi" is a supernatural phenomenon that has tormented multiple generations of Nigerians and dare I say West Africans. If you went to any Nigerian boarding schools, especially those located in the country side, they are loaded with disturbing hauntings, and keep in mind these haunting we believe to be absolutely real, not unlike Western presentation of wizards and sorcerers or ghost.
Mehn, reminds me of the good ol'days in secondary school. Madam koi, koi, bunk shaker, bush baby.
FGCO ODOGBOLU
Black Man😊😊
@@commy741 you get
I once experienced bunk shaker, I swear on my life can't still say if I was been pranked but the fact is I experienced it and it was intense, the dudes who's bunk were shaking in the dark didn't even fucking wake up
@@oderindebolutife5977 Good Lord you didn't fall off, that'd be call to glory
This is very awesome, tho the shoe sound i waited for, I didn't hear it
Sorry about that. You will hear the “koi koi” sound in the film. You will even get tired. 😁
For years i have always wondered when someone will do a horror movie about madam koi koi....when i watch films like conjuring and chucky i always felt that this story will be very good for a horror movie and it is our own original content....
I hope it turns out well....im really excited about it
We're excited as well.
You're going to love this one.
This was my highest fear then in secondary school😂
I used to share a single student bed with my 2 friends then because I was scared and they were too, we'll even be struggling for who'd be in the middle of the bed😂 I'm definitely not going to miss this movie.
That must have been quite an experience. 😂😂
Lol
😅😂
😂😂
Hehehehe that's true...we always have to sleep together with friends on one bed, cuz we were scared...
I remember back then in boarding school, we heard stories of Madam Koi Koi walking round the hostel with just one leg of heels on and it's said she's always looking for the 2nd heel, she stalked the female dormitories more often than male ones, the only one I had was the dreadful bush baby crying in the midnight, twas scary ASF, I'm legit excited to watch this, I hope it has alot of horrific scenes in it❤❤
I had Goosebumps watching you. Thank you for being our secondary school memories back
You're welcome.
The cast is impressive! Can't wait
Thank you, thank you. 🤗
Can’t wait for you to see this film.
Lol😂 it's about time this legend is brought to the screens
We have known the story of "madam koi-koi" for generations of Nigerian 🇳🇬 secondary school students.
Please i´ld love to know more about this story
I have watched the episodes 1&2 . Its such a great movie. Nice one Nollywood 👏. Its a masterpiece ❤
Okay I'm gon love this one, generally speaking, I don't usually watch Nigerian movies except exceptional ones and this right here..Is gon be exceptional
Yes it is!!!
Finally one of my childhood fears is made into a movie and i can't wait to watch it 😊.
😂
😂😂😂
Seriously? Ur u still want to watch it?
I mean ur childhood nightmare,😮
@@MiracleDmon yep, I don't see why not 😀
Nollywood been coming through with some great movies!!!
So excited for this. I remember my elder brothers used this to scare we the junior ones with this story so bad that at night none of us leaves the room as from 12.
Disappointed they didn't add sound effects for her shoe at the end of the trailer but this looks really good
Don't worry, you will hear it in the film. 🤗🤗
I will watch next weeekkk
@@displayuniversal lolzzz 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exactly
This was so worth the watch. The origin story of madam koi koi here was much compelling as an angry vengful spirit. The sound of her heel chills 😱😱
Great work to those who brought this to live...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is it only me that didn't see Mr. White Pants and the Bush babies at the FG boarding school, or didn't hear Madam Koi Koi? Anyways I appreciate the setting:the actors really capture that era. The effects of the madam koi koi were good enough - it looked real. Thumbs-up to the director and the whole team. 🎉
Just watched it today. Cant wait for the second part. In Tanzanian secondary schools we used to call her miss corridor 😂.
Guess every African experienced this creepy woman. 😂😂
Haha! Madam koi-koi scared me a lot when I was in boarding school. My corner that had a window that led to the empty road that led to class didnt help at all. Traumatised! 😄
Oh wow! 😭😂
Those of us who attended boarding school we suffered in her hand I'm actually surprised she was also in Nigerian schools and I'm Cameroonian.....she will always create havoc in our dormitory seemed to be her favourite dorm😂
Can you share the full experience please so it'll wet my appetite all the more for this series
The casting 💯💯. I cant wait to see it
We can’t wait for you to see it either. 🤗
I swear, this story resonates with me on such a deep level because I passed through the nightmares that stories of her sightings around school grounds.
😂😂
I will certainly watch
😂😂. You’re going to love it.
This is the next top grossing movie 🎥 banger ... Kai... This is 🔥🔥 please let it be exactly 💯 top notch.... Kudos 👍
😁🔥
OMG. You guys really did it. I thought at first it wouldn't be interesting, when I saw it on Netflix but I gave it a try so I reminded it on Netflix. So when I saw it on Netflix . I was excited to watch it, like seriously that was scary
I even told my mom about it. And it was interesting. But I didn't like the way it ended😢. It was only Chapter one. Please bring all the Chapters 😊. Like seriously when I watched it on Netflix today 1/11/2023, I was scared 👻😨😨. U guys are really trying in Nollywood, Keep it up, by the way I'm just 14. But I have one question is Madam Koi Koi real?🤔😅
You gon' find out like we did growing up, lol.
Thank you for watching. 🤗🤗
I’m actually hyped for the first time for a Nigerian horror film
I hope it’s worth it 😮😮😮
It is worth it. Believe me! 🥺
This happen to us back in boarding school..it's finally being seen on screen 😊😊
You're welcome. 🤗🤗
It would have been cool to see her walk with the famous Koin-Koin shoe noise in this thriller.
Excited to watch this!!
It really would have. 🥺
But not to worry. The sound is plenty in the film.
This and This..
Exactly
I was disappointed
I was expecting that footsteps
She did though?
Nollywood no dey ever get young actors
The actors on this film, especially those that played the younger characters, are relatively young and fresh face actors.
They always like using the same face over and over.
Wat of far from home but this movie is filled with young people
Super excited for this one, looks intriguing and it has some great actors too. Will be excited to see ma Ireti Doyle in her role😃
Hope you enjoy it!
Please they should have asked a lot of people who have experienced this madam koi koi stuff to give account of their experiences and then use them to build their story better.
Not all these old school Naija Netflix detective style movies
Watch the film first.
Folklore of those days in boarding school really scared the living day light out of me, like Kure Kure, Bush baby, Lady Koi Koi amongst others 😂
looks great and as a horror movie geek I'm excited to watch it. I see that they've already done their monster reveal in the trailer but hopefully that means the storyline packs a punch. Will be seated.
I'm happy to see jude here. An Igbo man I recently discovered in TikTok that has so much respect for the yoruba culture and language
Jude is an amazing actor! We can’t wait for you to see his performance in this film.
The trailer has given what to expect - a bestseller movie
FGGC OYO and madam koikoi stories...the faceless woman who goes about with red gele, clothes, bag and shoes that sounds koi koi koi in the middle of the night...even right now I have chills all over my body (even after 17 years)😱😱😱😱
😱😱👠👠
KOI KOI KOI 😂
Hope you people add the sound of her footsteps when walking (ko ko ko)? i believe madam koi koi is real to date cuz when i was in boarding house me nd my frnds heard the sound of ko ko ko in our locker room we shouted who's dere no body replied den we threw stone inside thr locker room all of a sudden the stone the stone was thrown back to us omo we japa dat day (oriwu model college ikorodu)
😭😭😂😂. Must’ve been really scary.
Don’t worry, you will hear the sound.
Finally. Was waiting for an actual testament from someone who experienced the koi koi noise. I didn't experience that though, only heard stories and laughed it off.
I always wanted to write and direct a movie based on The Bush baby and Lady Koi Koi. Hope they don’t spoil this for us and it comes out okay
You can still write yours. We can’t wait to see your adaptation of this iconic character, and the Bush Baby as well.
I couldn't be alone in the dark for weeks in secondary school after I heard this story.😅
😂😂😂
The beginning really had cinematic horror vibes, then somewhere along the line, it just went off the rails. I'll still be looking forward to this.
Sha come and watch the film on Netflix, October 31. Thank you. 🤗
I have just watched this when are we getting chapter 2
This is absolutely awesome. My experience in secondary School! 😱🥺😲
So cool! You’re going to love this one. 🤗
Just watched it, and y’all deserve some accolades 👏 👏 👏
When is episode two coming out please ??
November 7
madam koi koi. wow. what amovie. tis scraed a hell out of our minds back then ooo
But you’re a big boy now. This one won’t scare you like that. 😌
I live in America but i would love to Act in African film for Nollywood especially if it’s horror, it sucks i can’t audition fir them
Finally a Nigerian horror movie worth anticipating.
Yes! Yes!
As a girl who went boarding school during my secondary school years... and have heard alot of stories about LADY KOI KOI I can't wait
Ah, you will wait o. October 31 is not very far again. 🤗🤗
It was baba Dudu and bush baby at mine 😂😂😂
Form Cameroon. Did not know you guys also had this koi koi story. Remember the Dormitory days when some one will just wake up the next morning and say madam koi koi was walking around the Dorm. 😱😱
Hope they bring the sound.
If you haven't watched this yet try and do, its scary as hell😂
The sound is coming. 😌
Exactly Denny.
Some of us sleep so well and only get to hear stories the following morning.
Damn, this was good! I’m not saying for West African or anything. I’m a hard American, and I judge hard. This movie adhered to the culture of where it was supposed to be, but it made you the watcher understand the place very easily.
Well, okay. The first 40 minutes I thought this was in South Africa. The women all had such big breasts. We all
Know that’s team South Africa.
But, later on there were a couple things that made me realize this was my cousins on the west part of the continent. Even though I am American. By blood I am Eritrean, Africa. I speak Tigrinya. And everyone knows habesha culture (Eritrea-Ethiopians), from our history, religion, food, language almost everything. West Africa culture and is almost seem like different continents.
That’s why we love learning about Nigeria, Ghana and what they eat, how they talk in that accent that the world seems to think every African talks like.
I been hearing the west African by everyone that’s not black my whole life. I always think, “Who in my Africa talks like that? Ohhh, west Africa means all Africa to none black people.”
I'm really happy africa is getting more in cinema. The quality has improves greatly over the years. It not the same ole drugs violence spew I've come accustomed to here in the states. Is there a website dedicated specifically towards the african/diaspora view point in thriller/suspensey/horror and sci-fi? I used to be big in Asia arts. They had website called red sun DVD.
We’re not sure if there is but The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi and a lot of other Nigerian films are streaming now on Netflix.
Let’s get it. 🔥🔥
Lit geng shiiiii!! 🔥🔥🔥
I don't think Ms./Madam Koi Koi should have been revealed in the trailer.
Making a movie like this is commendable tho. Nollywood needs variety of genre. I'm looking forward to seeing this one. Horror is one my favorite movie genre.
Lol...the plot twist is that, that can never be madam koi koi😂😂😂
@@akindeledamilare439 I hope so.
Madam koi-koi trailer without Koi koi shoe sound..
I was waiting for that throughout.
Anyways, I'd still watch it, we really need more movies like this that focus on African folklore and mythology.
Aww. We are very sorry.
You will still watch the film, Abi? 🤗
@@displayuniversal definitely.
I just finished episode 1. Very good film 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Can’t wait for you to see the second part.
i hope they do the iconic footsteps we all grew up to fear
They will.
Oh boy! I won't be surprised if the most people to watch this show will be Ghanian and Nigerian. I remembered we fled out of the boy's dorm to sleep on the football field cus some silly dude decided to knock "koin koin koin"(like Madam High foot steps ) on the floor at 12am
In Tanzania we have stories of Babu Moses( short guy or guys) a nightmire which scared the boarding school students .We could not go to the toilet at night
😂😂😂
The whole time i was waiting to hear the koi koi footsteps.
Finally
They should do a story about bush baby
We go run that one next. 😌
And 'Mr Man'... the mysterious man who visited girls' hostels at night naked and with Vaseline all over his body. No no one ever figured out if he was a robber, rapist or ritualist
Yes o@@happilywheneverafter1354
I could swear I saw her in jss2, a night to our vacation that term
Omo is this movie is really happening, its great!!!!! it gives the Nun vibes ❤
I know, right?
Also, Mrs Koi Koi has one leg of her heels still on and that's how her victims know she's coming for them the "koi koi" sound it makes
That's very correct.
I am currently writing this for a Series, I'm shocked to see it is here, I'm still trying to recover
Keep on with your writing. We will wait for it, watch it when its ready and applaud it as well. I'm rooting for you. 😉
Go ahead, you could put a unique spin on it!
Well same thing.... was also writing on this but.. till then
Keep writing. We can’t wait to see your own version of this iconic character. 🤗
Keep writing , we’ll be waiting for it
Can't wait for the full movie ❤
Can’t wait for you to see it either. 😌
Can’t wait for you to see it either. 😌
As someone who works in film industry nothing scares me because I know how things are made but for this film, I am watching and sleeping afterwards with the lights on…..
😂😂😂
Probably because Madame Koi koi scared you as a child😂. Remembered camping at a boarding school. I stayed up on the first night listening for that koi koi sound so I could SCREAM to alert the others. At some point I started hallucinating and I mistook a jacket for Madame Koi koi. I dozed off holding a flashlight 😂
Eh looks decent... in the next decade, there's going to be a lot of spins on "lady koi-koi"... this is probably Nigeria's most popular horror trope.
Next must be Bush baby. These 2 made my secondary school days CRAZY!!!!!!!
Oh, we're gonna do that one too. Someday.
After the bushbaby, a movie about the naked man decked and smeared with heavy black oil that walks in the blackest night and harasses girls in their dormitories.
I remember the name now. It is baba dudu
Sounds like there’s more to this story than just the ghost of an evil teacher.
It sounds like it o.
Can’t wait. 🔥🔥🔥
You will wait till October 31 oh.
Wow
Inspector wan kee madam koi koi with gun, just dae play😅
Inspector dey play, and he's gonna learn the hard way. 😂😂
I just wish actual teenagers played the students
Some of the students were actually teenagers at the time of filming.
Im so stoked for this.
You guys are awesome
Thank you so much. Be sure to check out the film on Netflix, October 31.
This movie is 10/10
Damn!! 🔥🔥🔥
Can't wait!!
Neither can we!!! 🔥🔥🔥
OK, wow NIGERIA wow ❤
Yes! "Wow".
Madam kiokio madam gagu 😂😂 yes can’t wait
They should have included her signature koi koi sound at the end now.
You’ll hear it in the film.
I didn't expect much. Wasn't disappointed.
Is it as scary as people make it out to be?
@@davidosibajo5408 not even close!😁
Definitely not gon watch this at night.😂 As a matter of fact I'll invite friends to sleep over. Who knows, madam koi koi might want to visit some people 😂
😂😂😂.
i think they missed out that detail of hearing the koi koi sound foot steps
Don’t be angry. The sound is inside the film sha. 🤗
Now u've got my full attention. I remember pulling the madam koi koi stunt in my hostel, scared my mates😂. But jokes aside it's a very scary legend, hope u do it justice
Come see for yourself. The first part is now streaming on Netflix. 🤗
I'm sure anyone who attended boarding school would be excited about this movie. I really hope it doesn't disappoint because I was expecting to at least hear "koi koi" from her shoes in this trailer😏
You’ll hear it on the film, currently streaming on Netflix. 🤗
This Madam Koi koi use to hunt us boarding school in Ghana. 😂😂
She dey everywhere. 😂😂😂
Next Willy Willy 🌑👀🌑
Listen in boarding school Madam Koi koi was not joking or laughing matter. One night some useless girl, actually wore heels in the middle of the night to use the toilet. Everyone and I mean ever single person who heard those heels was praying for their life, shivering under their sheets. Imagine it’s pitch dark outside and NEPA confiscated their electricity. Smh…
Omo. 😂😂😂
Now we can do a Mashup fight
Madam koi koi vs chucky or Annabelle etc
That would be fun. 😂
Who else wises they'll make a Bush Baby Version next?😅
Bush Baby is next.
@@displayuniversalyou really mean it ......we are hear for all that bring it on nollywood....
I was so scared whenever I was told about madame Koi Koi
Omo I can't wait to watch this 😶
You will love this story.
Ireti Dolye will definitely kill the role... I won't be surprised she is connected to past dead... Setting my reminder on Netflix 😊😊😊
😂😂. Wait till you see the film.
hahahahaha I used to sweat in Boarding school those days with all these stories.
Yeah baby! Let's go! Nigerian Horror on the map.
You know it. 🤗🔥
Nice cinematics and wicked trailer but I hope I haven’t seen too much already from it. Big ups
We promise, you haven’t seen anything. 😌
❤❤❤❤ Madam Koikoi.... Heard she was a teacher and then she lost half pair of her shoes (she got pranked by some students) then as she was looking for it she died and ever since she still looks for the shoe and the students who pranked her😂. And she doesn't even have a body. It's just that one shoe that goes about. Looks like We've all been told different versions but a few things are similar. Same red heels, similar injury and common fear😂. Hopefully this movie brings out the truth.
When will the next episode be released???????
Both Chapter 1 and 2 are on Netflix now.
There’s no other chapter.
Broooooooooooo, who's the genius that thought to tell our story..?? The trailer alone sef
Jay Franklyn Jituboh is the writer and director of this master piece. 😌🔥
Just watched this on Netflix, actually quite good
Was expecting koi koi from the sound of ger shoes
🥺🥺. No vex.
You’ll hear it in the film, don’t worry.
Omo, naija no dey dull again oh😂
At all o.
Madam koi koi myth of those days we were in primary school
You see madam koi koi and Bush baby, both ruined my boarding school days 😂😂
But seriously If the Nigerian movie industry is deemed to produce high quality horror movies, trust me, Hollywood won't see them coming..
You said it! 💪❤️
