Sid should go into the hall of fame for not busting out laughing during the Shockmaster's debut and trying to save that clusterfuck. That's commitment.
@@jaquesteddyruxpin932 I’m sure you wouldn’t laugh either if you busted your ass wearing a stormtrooper helmet. Or fractured your leg in front of 6,000 people.
Often forgotten and underrated big man of the 90's. Strong and intimidating, could do so much more with a single look than many wrestlers can do in a 5 minute promo.
I was watching the match with my son against Steiner when Sid's leg broke. We both yelled pretty loud when it happened because it was too fast for them to cut away immediately. I'm amazed he was able to walk again after that.
I watched as 13 year old and I yelled too, and when his leg was flopping around while he was on the ground made me feel pretty nauseated and I had to turn away. Why the hell was Animal booked as the big surprise. They could have at least tried to get a singles star
I've seen Mankind snort teeth out his nose, I've seen football players spasm on the ground, hockey players get their throats slit by skates, horror films and footage from warzones of men dying... ... Sid breaking his leg is the only thing I've ever screamed "No!" and covered my eyes over.
Whether his motive to wrestle is based solely on or not, Syd had himself a hall of fame type of career. Holding World Heavyweight Titles multiple times with both WCW and WWF/WWE. He has held multiple titles and have been in the wring with the best of them. He is definitely a Hall of Famer. If the Godfather a.k.a Papa Shango can get into the HOF, so can SYD.
BrentWoodSean38 really good wrestling trivia question too. Who is the only wrestler to wrestle at 2 wrestlemania’s and both were the main event? Psycho Sid
@@briancunningham7391 The injury really affected his morale for many years. He's very lucky he had people who cared about him as a normal man versus a wrestler and I think that's what saved him from suicide because the guy seems like he understands how his good nature ended up saving his life.
Sid had the size and physique like most guys but his personality is what made me like him. I like that Sid's story is "big farm boy needs to make money for his pregnant wife" and it ends with him having a career that spans years and he traveled the world getting big pay days.
Content like this is why I end up always binge watching YT instead of watching TV shows. Love the wrestling bios series. And thanks for telling the stories of some ppl who aren't talked about often. Respect. I hope you do Marty Jannetty, Rick Martel, and Tatanka one day!
Sid was always my favorite other than Hogan when I was a kid, he was just so scary looking. When your favorite good guy was out there talking and Sid made a surprise entrance you just knew your guy was about to get his ass whipped
I've gotten really into this channel in the last 24 hours. Excellent content. Sid never got over for me personally. I think I saw him as limited and generic, but it's good to see he's in fantastic shape as a bodybuilder in his 50s. Again, thanks for these vids mate!
Thank you for this. I loved this guy and was always excited to watch him. He is a first ballot Hall of Famer in my book. I hope whatever he is doing now he is finding much success.
Great video. You're easily one of the best creators in the wrestling community. Sid was always a great part timer in my opinion. You couldn't build a scarier looking guy. When I was a kid, he was easily one of the most eye catching players. My dad hated wrestling, but took me to a Raw show in the mid-90s. When Sid and The Undertaker came out, even my dad acknowledged their presence.
Always liked sid I feel he doesn't get much respect in the business these day's considering he was world champion everywhere he's work nearly numerous times as well its a shame
This channel is going from strength to strength, even if some of these stories have been told a few times before. As long as you avoid all the obvious, overly told tales like the MSJ. Keep it up bro!
One wrestler I would like to see a bio of is Dan Spivey. He was known for being a legit tough guy in the circuit, he also worked with Sid. The Waylon Mercy gimmick was always intriguing and sinister but never saw it’s potential due to Dan retiring after his match against Kevin Nash for an October 1995 Superstars taping. He could have been a blast in the run up to the Attitude era.
Big men wrestling can work in the right environment, like NJPW, and Sid did have a few entertaining hoss fights with Goldberg. He may not have been the best in the ring worker, but his explosive personality and intimidating look made up for it.
I remember in the early days of WCW (?) Sid calling some old lady in the audience a ''wench'' when she tried to strike him with her bag. Sheer quality in them days - not any more tho.

The narrator is wrong. Sid was quite popular with the crowd even in 1997. Shawn and Bret just didn't have the aura Sid had. But the reason they kept him away from the title picture in 1997 was because the ratings, house shows etc weren't great. Plus Sid wasn't dedicated to the business. He kept taking vacations very often. It wasn't about match quality with Sid. Sure Bret and Shawn were better workers but Sid just was way more charismatic then both. But Shawn and Bret dedication was what made them champions. Vince had to rely on guys who worked 365 days a year. With minimum holidays.
When I watch old WWF footage from 1997, I forget that Sid Vicious was a champion. To me, it was all about Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, the Undertaker, The Nation, Ahmed Johnson
As time goes on, I realize how shawn michaels first runs with the titles in the 90s make me realize wwe was hurting. He was upper mid card at best at that time. Great worker.... decent on the mic, great finisher..... not a really believable champ with the "sexy boy" gimmick
