I will always remember the Nitro when Goldberg defeated Scott Hall and then later that night defeated Hollywood Hogan for the WCW championship. It was massive back then! Wrestling could not be bigger between WWF vs WCW.
My dad was always a big Hogan hater, grew up with Lucha so was never into his style, and bought into the Goldberg act hook line and sinker. I'll never forget how excited he got when his favorite took the belt off his most hated

@Vladimir Rusev Soo true. Goldberg might've gotten the green light from WCW, But he evolved and got over because of the fans. Completely organic babyface. Infact all the way up until after his win against Hogan 90% the fans loved him. After that win nothing new was coming from wcw for a goldberg storyline. Thats when the fans started to turn against him and want to see something new from him. I remember it vividly (as a kid). Thats when i fell in love with pro-wrestling for the first time.
When he burst onto the scene, he very much reminded me of Nikita Koloff who was already retired at the time. I don't doubt that WCW brass also saw that.
Goldberg is one of my favorite modern wrestlers and his streak was fun to watch! Once WCW was disbanded, I lost interest in Wrestling, competition is good for WWE, hate that they didn't use him effectively. Good video, appreciate what you do!
Same. Haven’t watched wrestling since wcw got bought. I was also around age 11 at the time, so timing just worked out. However.. I’ve been getting some WCW vibes from AEW lately.
Uploaded two days after his match with The Undertaker. Awesome! Goldberg is my third favorite WCW wrestler and Undertaker is my third favorite wrestler of all time but that match they would've been better back in the early 2000s. Instead their match was meh. I want to believe Goldberg was their answer to WWF's "Stone Cold" Steve Austin but lost a lot of hype after his 1998 Starrcade lost to Kevin Nash. In retrospect, his streak, badass entrance, being booked to squash his opponents and made to look nearly invulnerable are what got him over.
Robbie Bazemore the impact he made on the business made him one of the all time greats. He was a bigger star than most of the technical wrestlers and a bigger draw than them. Which makes Goldberg an all time great
I thought Goldberg first appeared as an unnamed guy when Piper was trying to form some group to fight some other group. I remember Earthquake was in this also.
And? Would you rather keep reminding people that WCW was rekt by WWE and likely get hate or just push your stars to the top, knowing your WCW stars are safe from any other company for a timebeing? It's logical pretty much, but upsetting for people who think personally, instead of businessally.
19buseye71 Goldberg was being booed badly in his debut match against the Rock, sadly I think that’s why Triple H and Vince figured it was best to throw some losses Goldbergs way

Russo wanted to map out a slow burn storyline (like he did for Survivor Series '98) but was told he had to fix things "now" when he arrived there. Some people don't understand the impact of watching those matches on television, being a kid with no way of paying for pay per views, it was great to be able to watch PPV event for free.
Goldberg provided the necessary fuel to keep the WCW machine running during those years of the Monday night wars with WWE. The shenanigans like NWO and other characters helped but lets face it, many people tuned in just to see if Goldberg's streak would continue or end.
I still say Nash beating him was way unbelievable. Any “big” man like Nash or Giant beating him was unbelievable because they are too slow. It should have been Bret Hart.
I watched religiously back when Goldberg made his appearance and I had a feeling he was gonna be a star. He had no laurels to rest on like alot of the WCW ''stars'' back then, and I felt that in real life he'd demolish just about anyone in that company. I was getting sick of dudes in their 40s and 50s beat up on young studs( I mean I can only suspend reality to a certain level) and it was nice to see Goldberg run right through them. I think at some point it becomes very important for a star who's gonna last for a while to be able to cut good promos but there was so much darn talking back then that it was nice to see someone let their actions do all the talking. Bischoff handled Goldberg well IMO.
I saw the full DDP vs Goldberg on ppv. I don't think everyone dropped it before it was over. Actually, I think I have the VHS somewhere at my parents. I used to tape them and loan them to my friend that couldn't afford the ppvs
Goldberg's Regal match showed him clearly not being able to grapple and constantly going back to an armlock over and over. And given that he literally ended Bret's career by kicking him in the face, he has a lot of gall to complain about Regal's snug kicks to the back.
I love Goldberg. Since his debut. Im not even mad about the saudi debacle. Partially his fault, but Taker and especially the excessive heat that two 50+yo men must wrestle in. Saying he wished he made a BIGGER impact in the NFL is probably his most ridiculous comment. To make a bigger impact would mean you had to have made AN impact in the NFL. Bills assertion is like me telling people how lovely I thought LA was as after visiting a while back. My plane did a stop over in LA to switch flights. Thats the only time I've been in California. Not a lie, but an exaggeration for sure. I love you Bill and would love one more match.
See you learn something new every day. I am Canadian and am ashamed to say I had no idea that there were American expansion teams in the CFL at one point. Little own that but that the Sacramento Gold Diggers were the first non-Canadian expansion team in the CFL ever. At first I thought Wrestling Bios made a mistake. But knowing how accurate Wresting Bios is with the information in the videos I decided to relistened to that part again. Then I assumed that there was meant to be a comma after CFL and there just wasn't a long enough pause between CFL and Sacramento. And that the Sacramento Gold Diggers were part of some NFL farming leauge I had not heard of. But after listening to the way that Wrestling Bios said it I was sure Wrestling Bios meant the CFL team was the Sacramento Gold Diggers. So I had to find out! I'm an NFL fan and sadly know more about it's history then I do about the CFL apparently. Not that I watch a whole hell of a lot of the CFL. Aside from the scores I never really pay it much attention. But let's be honest. The CFL is like a glorified beer league. I mean players need to work part-time or even full-time jobs just to make ends meet while playing in a so-called 'Pro' leauge for crying out loud! I was aware that NFL players would play in the CFL when they were either not being drafted, do to injuries and for some other select reasons. But that's as far as American players playing in the CFL went that I was aware of. I mean I knew Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson played in the CFL too but this has definitely started me on a Wikipedia wormhole that I'm sure to spend the next few hours of my life on which I will never get back. Thanks Wresting Bios! LMFAO! Keep up the great work though! Cheers eh!

Your vids make my day
Goldberg v Raven for the US title was a great match. He beat up the whole Flock.
Some people don't understand the impact of watching those matches on television, being a kid with no way of paying for pay per views, it was great to be able to watch PPV event for free.
Sting and Luger? Ive always heard from Goldberg in interviews that it was DDP that got him into wrestling.
Nope. I heard him say it was mostly Sting and Luger. But DDP also encouraged him. They both trained at the Power Plant.
When will you do the Steiner brothers
13:09 Goldberg in the crowd 😂
On a sick one
Been addicted to ur videos bruhhh keep it up
Goldberg provided the necessary fuel to keep the WCW machine running during those years of the Monday night wars with WWE.
You forgot to mention Goldbergs feud with Scott Steiner. Why?
One thing I've learned from wresting ( first from Hogan and continuing on with Goldberg): The bigger the guys, the bigger the lies.
The Goldberg and "Rafter Sting" angle were the best angles WCW couldve ever come up with. Because of those 2, I rarely watched WWF.
What a fantastic YT channel!

I saw the full DDP vs Goldberg on ppv. I don't think everyone dropped it before it was over. Actually, I think I have the VHS somewhere at my parents. I used to tape them and loan them to my friend that couldn't afford the ppvs
My favorite move of his was his gorilla press + Oklahoma slam (possibly power slam). I always made it my finisher on wcw v nwo back in the day
Great video.
Really liked the deeper digs.
Happy u made this video love Goldberg & Rock
Thank you for this. I always wondered how many matches he actually wrestled
Good video bro
Goldberg's Regal match showed him clearly not being able to grapple and constantly going back to an armlock over and over. And given that he literally ended Bret's career by kicking him in the face, he has a lot of gall to complain about Regal's snug kicks to the back.
I love Goldberg. Since his debut. Im not even mad about the saudi debacle. Partially his fault, but Taker and especially the excessive heat that two 50+yo men must wrestle in.
Saying he wished he made a BIGGER impact in the NFL is probably his most ridiculous comment. To make a bigger impact would mean you had to have made AN impact in the
NFL. Bills assertion is like me telling people how lovely I thought LA was as after visiting a while back. My plane did a stop over in LA to switch flights. Thats the only time I've
been in California. Not a lie, but an exaggeration for sure. I love you Bill and would love one more match.
Nice timing 👌
In regards to his win loss record.
I thought house shows aren't considered "cannon" in wrestling storylines.
The Boss Stage1 they’re not that’s why it made no sense to how many victories he had
I always wonder how much better his run would have been had he been smart to the wrestling business.
Goldberg was a beast. Austin was a story teller. Both were great but it's like comparing apples and oranges.
97 Goldberg would have DESTROYED Undertaker and Braun Strowman in a heartbeat. 97 Goldberg was better than 98% of the roster and THOSE are facts!
no he wouldnt xD
While I liked Goldberg, his entire career can be summarized in two words: spear and jackhammer
Goldberg is the best wrestler I've ever seen and there will be no other ever! 👊💪
Get a grip he had 4 moves and that's it.
I agree
I didn't care for the streak gimmick... the only thing I really ever liked about Goldberg is the Jackhammer
IDK who would ask for this, but I’m gonna watch anyway. Thanks.
Ty for the upload
That streak should still be going.
The way it ended finished off WCW.
Goldberg vs. Angle could have been an amazing feud.
The ungodly physical specimen vs. Mr Olympian.
Bruh your videos are 🔥
See you learn something new every day. Cheers eh!
