Super Trucker Dan - my father has been following you for quite awhile now - he’s spoken of you often and of how much he loves your videos. He is 82 years old and has had a crazy but lovely life. Awhile back, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. A month ago he fell here in his room, likely a direct result of the cancer having spread. (Trying to make this background info story as brief as I can.) He was discharged from the VA Hospital on September 9th, after hospice services had been set up here at home, and given “two weeks to two months to live”. Today, he called me in to the living room (where his bed is right now) and asked me what I thought about him ordering a Trucker Dan sweatshirt. He put his head down and said “Oh well, it probably doesn’t make any sense to order one now, I probably won’t be here once winter comes anyway.” Dammit, I came right out to the other room here and have already ordered him the sweatshirt, obviously with EXPRESS shipping. I hope it gets here in time for him to be happy it arrived, and to wear it at least one time. The only reason I’m posting to you right now, is because I want you to know that this wonderful fella in Wisconsin has LOVED watching you for a long time. He’s always talked to me about how he loved feeling like he was right there alongside you, driving down the road as well…. You’ve played an important part of this man’s life, when there have been many of his days he hasn’t been able to get out to do much on his own…and he’ll hopefully have a chance to wear the Trucker Dan sweatshirt he wanted. (He never before has wanted to order something online, so I know that this meant something special to him today - which is why it took me only ten minutes to get the order in!!) I know it’ll make him happy. Keep up the good work.
Hello Donna , your story brought tears to my eyes, I lost my dad a year ago and some days are tougher than others, god bless your dad !! My prayers are with you and yours…
@@discatcher thank you so much.
Tell him to keep on the safe side!
I have a suggestion to protect that hose. Take a peice of 1/4" OD Fueline that's used on lawnmowers, slice it along the entire length and slip it over the line you want to protect. You can ziptie it to keep it closed. it works well and lasts a long time. I hope this helps!
LoL the music with antifreeze made the experience much better than it was in real life. Thanks for the video!
Sir I don’t know how long you been a truck driver but you are a dying breed of owner operator. You are old school like my granddad he drove for years and was a true definition of a driver. They don’t make them old school guys like y’all anymore. Keep on keeping on my friend!!
💞 Sweet Bailey 💞 🙏 😋 😍 ❤ 💖 💞
A lot of "grunt" in your Cat, Dan. I used to run Scania V8 on straight pipes, goin' through tunnels scared passing passenger cars. I hope your "Corvette" meets your expectations, a few bugs at first doesen't matter. I've been watching you for years and you run your ship well, like a good captain always do. Keep them wheels rolling on the road and all best wishes for you, your wife and the star of the show... BAILEY!
Greetings from a retired Norwegian truck driver.
Norwegian truckdrivers never retired. Your legacy fliés with every snowfling, and the crank of the pigg of the chains over Hol-Aurland leads us who came after.
In decades
@@thomasberg7088 Når du straks er 73, har over 30 år av dem bak rattet og skuldre, rygg og knær er utslitt, og du har tre turer på Feiring klinikken... da er det på tide å parkere traileren, for godt..
Find the low coolant sensor (should be in the overflow tank) and see if the wiring harness has been disconnected and jumped with a paper clip. If so, that's why the light never came on.
Yep. Company bought a used Pete that had it jumped. Owner bought it sight unseen. I was driving it home 500 miles and alarm went off when the paperclip feel out. That was one of several issues with that POS truck.
Dan, think a lot of us just enjoy hearing that Cat purring! ;) but yes, the sunrise was beautiful for sure! :D Hope you are having a great week!
“Bailey is stretching her legs” 😂😂😂
She has to take her d.o.t. required dogg-o break...all that sitting looking at daddy and barking sure wears her down...lol
Travel Safe, Dan
GOOD MORING DAN AND HAPPY TRUCKIMG
oh no. Prayers up that this truck isn't a lemon
Them pipes sound good!
Dan, as I said before, you are fascinating to watch and listen to...as a former Driver, I relate to your challenges, and good and bad days. Darrell.
You’re the Driver of this Channel and Bailey is your Sidekick with her Extremely Good Looks. 😬👍
Brilliant Dan another video of the life of a professional owner driver and his side kick
Take care and stay good 🌵👍🇬🇧
That Whole Trailer is COMPLETELY FULL ......!!!!
Your traveling companion, Bailey, is so very cute...thanks for sharing!
Don’t let the bastard get you down. Love your work.
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I also appreciate the time you take when loading and how thorough you are when it comes to preventative maintenance and other little things with your truck. Reminds me of watching how my grandpa did things with his truck. It definitely keeps me on my toes and makes me slow down and think things through when they get hairy. You’re a true professional Dan.
Sometimes a lazy day is good for you. Time to recharge and focus. You and Bailey stay safe.
Thanks for the ride. Glad you got the truck finished up.
Stay Safe
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. An yes I like the shooby doo song too!
Ok got to mess with you. Back in 70s and I was a youngster my dad drilled in my head check oil and water every time before you leave. Lol
Dan, any chance you might consider another live feed? Thank you and be safe!🇺🇸
The upper peninsula of Michigan should be beautiful right now with the fall colors. Hopefully no more hot issues with the truck. Safe travels!
Thanks for the trip. I'm looking forward to seeing upper Michigan. Never been there this time of year but my guess is, it's pretty country.
I'm in northern Michigan and the colors are about a week or 2 from peak.
Safe travels
It always takes a while to get used to a fresh trucks little foibles 😂. I had one vehicle that I drove for about 13 years and I knew every nut and bolt, every squeak and rattle and I really hated parting with it for a new one. I’m sure you know the feeling Dan. 👍
Great intro!
I just had one of those days too Dan.
Thanks Dan. You handle frustration very well and set a great example. Like the way you take care of your truck. Exhaust sounds good. Take care. Blessings
That little red Corvette is looking good.
Thanks for watching
Beautiful sunrise.
What a beautiful sunrise and a nice countryside 🙂.
Yes
Thanks for watching
Hey Dan !! Yepper !! ""THAT'S TRUCKING "" ALL over again !! Always something to keep you on your toes !! Anyhows,, Sounds great with the exhaust !! Put her to wind & Let the ""CAT"" Howl !! Have a good week & Thanks for the videos !!
this ignores the step where Dan gave up a perfectly fine under warranty truck for....well
Cat sounds good
Great music on this one, Dan; love the "Shooby doo!
See ya up here, Dan
Good morning Dan if you have a fly problem call out the police swat team. Remember safety is number one on the road no trains ?.
Dan is a very nice gentleman to talk to and just talking with him I could tell he loves trucking and he makes great videos and I hope to speak with him again
Love windshield time but also love the engine noise along WITH windshield time!
Safe travels Dan
Rough day for you but your buddy Baily was smiling and sticking by you.
I live in Wisconsin Rapids , I'll be looking for a big orange truck on Thursday and Friday,
I hope you got a chance at some point to visit Russell's car museum. It's free (with a donation box) and they rotate the cars in and out so there is always something new to see. And, I am pretty sure it is in Glenrio, not St Jon (pronounced John, not Juan.)
One of the best videos so far 👍
Hello Dan and Bailey you have a cool load on your Dorsey trailer you two have a safe trip keep the videos rolling.
Good videos man. Ramble on anytime because we all enjoy what you have to say and show us.
Bailey definitely keeps an eye on you Dan.
I know that satisfied feeling from when you fix something.
Beautiful October. Just best time to be moving the metal right now.
Thanks Dan
Hello there bud.✌️🙏👍
Hi
Thanks for watching
@@SuperTruckerdan your welcome. Thanks for keeping America running. Respect all our truck driver's out there.👍🙏✌️🇺🇸
Hopefully the shipper got the stops in order, nothing worse than getting to a stop then having to rearrange the load to find the correct stop.
Between you and Bailey, your slowly getting the bugs worked out of the truck, you two make a good team. Good video, have a safe trip.👍🏻🤠
Be safe out there and god bless buddy.
the sound of your exhausts when shifting gears sounds great, Dan. :(
truck looking good Dan ,
this Peterbilt I have a yellow light comes on saying low cooling , It looks like you only put 2 gallons in so you will be all right nothing to worry about ,
Be safe take care self Dan
TD, get yourself a big lint roller at dollar general or walmart for Bailey’s shedding hair on your seat, it does come in handy.
I love the intro on this video, watched it several time already, and for some reason I keep thinking your going to pick up the microphone and announce to everyone "Welcome aboard Everyone, please keep your hands and feet inside the truck untill the ride had come to a complete stop"!!! 🎢🎡🤣
Heartland truck next to you good company. Great video Dan.
I have always loved the El Paso area. Always enjoyed going through that area when I drove for NASCAR. I plan on settling in that area when I retire.
Dan
Always a great video. I always appreciate checking in on your travels.
Love that exhaust sound!!!
Yes you have to stop and address over heating problem But that all comes down to your pre trip & post trip inspections right ?? mmmmm but I am a retired company driver so I don’t know about your specific engine
I'm glad the coolant had a leak and it wasn't the engine that was eating it
Looking forward to seeing some OTR in the UP. That's where I 1st trucked in the late 70s and haven't been back up there since. Thanks for posting Dan!
Hydraulic hose spiral wrap for protecting anything.
That coolant warning comes on if you have a coolant overflow tank
Your new truck sounds great. This is the first video I really noticed them.
Be safe brother. Safe travels
i like the way you handle all the little things, catch does things early usually keep little things from becoming major failures, pull toy here
Dan, If you watch Gentry and Sons channel, he was having problems with his Cat overheating and traced it to the oil cooler.. cleaned her up and reinstalled it and runs much cooler now
Alrighty then 👏
Use Velcro’s to cover them holes.
That way you can cover them and still use it for storage papers ets?
Did you make it to OKC? You never said where you stopped? Lol
See you tomorrow..,
Dan the man
People seem to like to be “1st “ when Dan puts a new video...... but how many have seen all 541....just saying....lol
Hey Dan. What a gorgeous rig and that turbo whistle is just amazing!
Looks like all your hoses are dry-rotted too....Time to invest in all new hoses and clamps I think ??
It snowed up here in northern BC this morning Dan so it was nice to see some “summer” like weather. Not ready to truck in the snow yet....The ol’ Cat is sounding pretty tho!
A clear overflow tank would come in handy if you ever decide to replace that one. My whole life is "keepin an eye on it" it seems. My truck used to eat up coolant sensors all the time. I ended up replacing the reservoir bottle and the wiring all the way to the firewall to get rid of the issue. Been told there was a way to turn that warning sensor off but never tried to. The wiring was the biggest issue with it because it would chaff.
Great sunrise. About the coolant level sensor. On my peterbilt with Caterpillar engineC 15 engine. The coolant sensor is inside the coolant reservoir. Two wires go to the sensor. If the coolant level drops down to the sensor there will be a low level alarm sound and a lite appear on the dash that will say low coolant. Also the coolant reservoir has a glass lens that coolant is visible from. Peterbilt like other manufacturers has probably changed the sensor and coolant level indicators down thru the years. It has probably been re-designed multiple times down thru the years?
Mine is a 2002 c15. No sight glass or coolant level sensor. I just pop the reservoir cap and look down in there about once a week.
@@toddblankenship8794 The reservoir is mounted on the firewall on the steering wheel side and connected to the radiator with the hoses. It is a good system design. The reservoir holds about one gallon of coolant up to the sensor and sight glass.
Hey Dan I'm heading to El Paso now on 30 Mt pleasant
DOO BE DOO BE DOO. SHOO BEE DOO
You should run into beautiful colors this time of year in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Man I use to run that I-10 to Big Spings TX. from California to work on the oil rigs, I miss that 1200 mile trip in 18HRS to work. Worked a two weeks 12 hr/day shift. I'd get some real deep thinking through that New Mexico stretch. started taken the I-40 for a better roads and views.
If you need a new radiator...L&M of Hibbing MN makes renewable core tube radiators that are used in all the mining trucks. I have used their radiators in all my trucks that are severe duty use....such as sand and gravel and logging. OTR runs over poor roads that beat up a truck, like US 61 into Canada was coasting me a lot of radiators replacement. When I switched to L&M, the rubber sealing tube mounts stopped the leaking tubes problems.
best engine ever...usually it start leaking by the weep hole at the water pump.
Cool video Dan 👍
Hi Dan, i've had Siberian Huskies so i WISH i had the amount of dog hair you have to deal with-lol. the ol' PB is lookin' good brother! be safe out there and keep her between the fencerows.
I may be wrong but I believe the weep hole in the water pump is just above that hose underneath the pump. I'd run my finger up under the water pump and see if it's wet. It may be wet anyway with the fan slinging the coolant around, but you could always look up from under using a mirror and see if inside the weep hole is wet. It's been a while, but I think that hole's about the size of a dime, maybe even larger.
Be safe take care
There was a safety gauge called "Murphy switch" . It shut motor off when to hot or no oil pressure. You had to press button to overide in morning to start truck.
heading up to JBG travels and Long Haul Larry country in Wisc. and the U.P. Saw the one crate marked Shawano, have seen JBG go there many times, although not for over a year. Take care and safe travels.
Fall Color will be beautiful in the U.P.
Say hi to the YOOPERS. Have a Pastime. 😀
Pretty sure I seen you today in tomah,Wisconsin at the kwik trip
Morning Dan & Bailey 😀 Nice beat load even though it was a pain in the butt 😩 Hopefully that coolant leak will be an easy fix buddy 🤔 take care Stevie 😎🏴
hope you check your fluids more often when in Florida. the Florida humidity tends to suck the water right out. before they had enclosed batteries for cars, we went to Florida to visit my sister, and the car wouldn't start cause the humidity had sucked the battery acid dry. lol
So you’re trying to tell us that a battery precipitates H2O molecules faster in a humid environment? 🙄
@@donleamon8653 havent got a clue of what you're talking about. i never took chemistry. all i know is the humidity sucked the water out of the battery and the car wouldn't start. now, we have enclosed batteries and no problem with humidity.
@@dennismckown4951 - Ok, let’s take this down a notch. Does a wet towel dry quicker in a humid environment, say a real swampy ass day in Florida, or would it dry quicker in Death Valley with close to no humidity? Also, a wet (flooded) cell, lead acid battery, is not sealed. They are vented to let gasses escape during charging. If they say ‘maintenance ’ free, it just means you can’t open up the case without damaging it.
@@donleamon8653 i make a comment aboujt the humidity and i get the 3rd degree, a wet towel will dry faster in the desert. i live in the desert, not in florida, was there for 3 days, it was an observation. sheesh.
Yeah Robert McGregor owner operator you should have flushed the radio out because they might have had bars leak in the radiator that plugged up the radiator core and your heater could have been plugged up too so you better check it cuz my dad would have been all over that truck checking it out before you even took it out on the road keep on trucking.
