Alex: skeptical and distrusting of everyone in the maze, Alex 5 seconds later: mad at the guy who is skeptical and distrusting of the new guy in the maze
Dylan O’Brien (Thomas) suffered a horrific accident during the making of the 3rd movie when a stunt went wrong and he got hit by a car and then dragged under it. He had brain trauma and multiple facial fractures as well as other injuries to the rest of his body. The film production went on hiatus and once he recovered physically, he said he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to go back and finish it because he was so traumatized by it. He worked on a few other projects before agreeing to go back and finish it, but it delayed the release of the 3rd movie. It was insane. Great actor. He started out on MTV’s Teen Wolf. It’s pretty cheesy (especially the first season when they were working out the kinks) but Dylan was a stand out in that show- it’s actually very good and funny once you get past the first season. But man the first few eps are so cringy 😂❤ seasons 3-4 are legitimately so good.
He also played Mitch Rapp in the Vince Flynn novel adapatation American Assassin. Great books, movie was good on its own but as a fan of books seeing the character come to life was awesome. Obrien did the character justice. Recomend those books by Flynn before his untimely death, starting with Term Limits his first book about how the sensational assisnations of prominent leaders of congress led to the creation of the Orion team this Mitch Rapp character became the 'tip of the spear' for. The CIA used to question Flynn how he came up w his stories cause they were scarily accurate. He regualrly appeared on news shows to discuss the threats to US security, specifically regarding the Middle East and terrorism
I think it was more of them trying to push The Gladers to leave because they came back to the Glade and killed the ones who stayed. Everything from the moment Thomas is sent in is to get them to finally solve The Maze
In books, the grievers actually come every night to kill one person until the are all dead to push them to try escape, nothing to do with memories, they ARE supposed to get the back if they take the medicine
27:38 in the books im pretty sure they explain that u cant climb the walls bc the vines dont reach that high. its one of the things newt tells him when he mentions theyve already tried everything. also, this was left out of the movies, but in the book newt has a limp from a bad leg injury. its later explained that he got overwhelming depression and felt “something was missing” in his life so he just ran out into the maze (pretty sure he was a runner but after this he quit), climbed the vines and jumped in an effort to k*ll himself. alby found him and saved him before the doors closed:(
As a reader and fan of the books I can confirm this is true, or at least that’s how I remember it, it’s been a bit since I’ve read em (both the vines not getting high enough and Newt’s off attempt)
I think the main issue with climbing would be the height, even if the vines reach all the way up there would you risk your life going up that high knowing at any moment the vines can come off due to your weight? Plus, the glade walls may not connect to the outer walls.
Little Info about Newt, because the movies don't make it quite clear: Newt used to be a runner, when he realized there was no way out of the maze he tried to kill himself by jumping of one of the walls in the maze cause he did not want to life as a captive. He broke his leg instead and Minho found him and got him out of the maze before nightfall. Minho never told anyone what had really happened and Newt and him became close friends. Newt was thankfull that Minho had safed him and kept the secret of how he broke his leg. After that his leg never healed right, that is why he is limping slightly and wasn't a runner anymore by the time Thomas got there.
YES! and there’s a deleted scene in Death Cure (never really got why it was deleted) where newt describes the story specifically and why he was so loyal to Minho.
@@user-jt1js5mr3fWell yes, but I find the second part equally thrilling. How they narrowly escape the WCKD facility, survive the scorch and the zombies, and the journey they make to find the *Right Arm* finally realising they had a safe haven, but for moments alone 😅
I always liked that in the scene where Thomas and the others are being dragged away from the facility towards the helicopter, the camera pans to the image of both Gally and Chuck lying dead on the floor. It does a good job of symbolising how at the end of the day, despite one being a seeming antagonist, and the other an ally, they are both simply victims of the maze. Ultimately, they're both just two boys who were reacting to a crazy, scary situation in the only way they felt they could, and death becomes the great equaliser.
Dylan O’Brien is an underrated actor. He was great in all three of these. He was badass in American Assassin and he was hilarious in Maximum Truth. Can't wait to see him in Saturday Night.

28:55 going to assume the part they are carrying is essentially an ID for the griever, making the secret door open and let the griever into its nest, they got scanned and was identified as not grievers, now the place is shutting down and the alarm is sounding. Probably never planned for them to escape the maze, just see how long they can last and how they will act in this situation, especially with a girl being introduced and that being the very last supply they get. 39:38 cheeked up, dayum!

Is the divergent series good? Edit: Alright, nonhlanhlangwenya9948, from the replies I've got, I think you just put something really trash into the recommendations. That's bad, very bad, don't make me pay you a visit.
@evafegolfina1603 , They don't remember anything from their past since Wicked had their memories erased before they put them all in that glade. They only remember their names and those names aren't even their own birth names because when Wicked took them from their parents as small kids they changed their names so they shouldn't remember any connecton with their real family. Wicked gave them new names after famous scientist, filosofers, and other famous people. Thomas: Thomas Edison - Gally: Galileio Gallileo- Theresa : Mother Theresa, Alby- Albert Einsten, and Newt was the only british boy in the glade, so he was named after the british scientist Isaac Newton.
The thing about gally is he looked the strongest and all tough and buff but he was actually the most scared. He was just confused of everything and that things changed which makes it kind of sad 😢
😅 thanks to the magic of the algorithm, the Croods popped up at the same time. He's basically the Dad "everyone get into the kill circle " change/new is bad, but instead of learning/accepting, he gets a psychotic break. 😢
So, the whole flare thing that the lady mentioned at the end. It doesnt get mentioned in the movie at all, its in the prequel books, but the Government caused it. The planet was being destroyed by solar flares, being cooked, and there was less and less food so they manufactured a virus called the Flare, they dropped it in certain populations not realizing it would spread as quickly as it did. They accepted children years later to try their experiment on....
Love the content! I think your assessment of Gally (Eyebrows) is off though He wasn't upset because Thomas came in and he was feeling pushed out and less useful, he basically had Stockholm Syndrome for the Glade. He had been through so much trauma and grew to like the status quo, and when someone new came in and everything started to change, he was lost. He was trying to lash out and get things back the way they were, where he felt comfortable and safe. Even to the end, he was just in complete denial about the situation they were in, and couldn't see that Thomas was right.
Honestly though the hunger games movies are so well done and acurate to the books that I wouldn't be pissed at all if he didn't read em. Not like maze runneer 😐
Been a huge fan of Dylan O’Brien since the MTV Teen Wolf days. I try to catch everything he’s in. Insanely talented and I think very underrated because he isn’t in the huge block busters all of the time.
I literally searched for this reaction because I was convinced you must’ve already done the whole series. And only two days later it’s there 😂🤩 Excited for this one!
My jaw literally dropped when he said he's never seen Hunger Games. To me it's the OG YA book trilogy → movie series. HIGHLY recommend that for upcoming viewing options. I forgot how good the sound design was in this movie. Terrifying. I enjoyed this reaction a lot!
@@KOBAYE_24There’s not a lot I remember from the books, but I’m pretty sure Newt was a runner at first, but one day he climbed the wall to find a way out, but the stress of the maze got to him and he jumped off to try and unalive himself. He survived, but permanently screwed up his leg, which is why he has a limp, or at least he does in the book. I think it was Alby or Minho who found him and brought him back. He was relegated to jobs within the glade and a rule was established not to climb the wall.
dude you need to watch the whole trilogy!! i'm not even joking!! It's absolutely amazing, the movies AND books are great! 27:36 - In the books, Newt or someone (Don't quite remember) mentioned that they everything, including climbing the walls. 38:30 - Yes! The second book is that! I'm pretty sure (from my foggy memory) that's also the second movie, "The Scorch Trials"
Heres what i think of Gally, i think he is overhated because we are seeing the movie through the eyes of Thomas, were he is present as this hero for them that is going were no one else go and get answers. But if we look everything form a neutral point of view you would understand more Gally pov. Like image the situation, waking up in that place, no memories, no instructions, supplies, tool and a maze with monsters, you lost a few people on the process of learning but eventually y'all come with some basic rules and roles and thanks to that y'all can be alive and reasonable well living, but suddenly now this new guy comes, start breaking the rules, now suddenly your safe place is on fire, with the monsters attacking it and some of the people you have know your whole life (cause the lack of memories) are dead, the group is divided and the guy who provocate all of this is like "Nah fam trust me, the grievers posible nest if for sure the way out of this maze" Like bro, you telling me in Gally's position you wouldn't be heated too? Like yeah we know Thomas is right cuase movie logic but they don't know that
I mean I’m sure he’s just getting mentally prepared for how long they are lol. I’m sure everyone wants him to watch the extended versions. I haven’t even watched them yet
Extended is NOT a good idea. & more for 2nd watch super fans. Awful advice telling in my opinion 1st timers to watch them. I lovve the books and movies ans I hate them, adds the wrong tone & unnecessary time. Ruined entire flow of movies for me. Theatrical version was meant to be main movies for reason the proper editing..even Jackson says Extended for super fans NOt Ultimate edition.
@justmelv23 That entirely depends on the person. I watched all of the extended cuts my first viewing and I had no issue following anything and liked the extra content. It's very subjective. I honestly prefer seeing extended cuts than theater ones because I see the extended as the story that WANTED to be told, theatrical ones are the ones that HAD to be told because of X,Y, Z. Imo
@@justmegirl23 I watched the extended editions first, and had no issue with them? I wouldn't suggest he watch them in one sitting, but imo the differences aren't huge. Apart, from the mountain scene with Aragorn (I hope you can guess the difference I'm referring to, as I'm trying not to spoil.), being less suspenseful in the extended addition. I doubt he'll watch the extended versions though.
I have a friend who's like this! She isn't interested in watching movies (to the point that she doesn't have a tv or streaming services), everything she's watched is what her friends showed her, so I guess Alex is in the same position with this youtube channel!
27:35 About the climbing up, they have done that before. "Everything you think of, we've already tried"-Newt And on that note, something in the books is that Newt was a runner once and he actually climbed up and jumped off in a su1cide attempt. It's why Newt is no longer a runner, he badly broke his leg and now has a bad limp
Hey editor for your question 38:45 sort of in book 2 the kids don’t know that they are immune so WICKED lied to them and told them that they had the flare however they would give them the “cure” (which the kids believed existed) if they walked thru the Scorch to a safe haven. Read the books I love the movies but the books are very different and much better
Oh i love this Movie and I actually think its underrated. I like the idea, the characters, the actors and everything. I wish there was a Maze Runner TV Servies with more inforfmation about the characters or about other labyrinths
To their credit, the first book in the trilogy was basically exactly like the movie. The ending I had 10000 more questions than answers. Not often I see a movie do a book justice so well. 😬 I don’t mind if the movie isn’t a 1:1 to a book, I just am impressed with how well the maze runner did with keeping the main plot the same and not too convoluted. Awesome reaction!
Totally agree. I remember being so hyped with each of this ones, whilst my wife (gf when they came out) was much more into Hunger Games. I guess the marketing and the romantic parts of HG helped it grow bigger than MR
I've only watched the first two films and read the first 3 books, so I can't say anything about the series as a whole, but I only read/watched past the first one for the sake of having something new to read/watch. With the hunger games, I actually wanted to know what happened next.
@@lisahenry20 I read the first two books then watched the first two movies not sure if the third would ever come out. Then I read half way through the third book and saw the third movie not knowing how it would end and it was one of the most epic movie experiences I've had until seeing Dune part 2. Awesome finale imo, extremely well-made and immersive!

As far as renaming, I always liked James.
the editor's comments added to the video so well LMAO, great reaction
28:55 going to assume the part they are carrying is essentially an ID for the griever, making the secret door open and let the griever into its nest, they got scanned and was identified as not grievers, now the place is shutting down and the alarm is sounding.
Probably never planned for them to escape the maze, just see how long they can last and how they will act in this situation, especially with a girl being introduced and that being the very last supply they get.
39:38 cheeked up, dayum!
19:33 RIGHT??? I don’t even wanna imagine what would happen in reality to a woman put in this situation.
newt is quite literally my favourite character... probably ever
Mine too. I love Newt.
Same here, but uhhh. Have you watched the other movies?
@@Roboteer1 ...yep... we dont talk about thoseee
@@temsikdoos ok haha I didn't want to spoil the 3rd movie but I still haven't gotten over the fact that they killed millions of people and lost the best character to save fricking MINHO. Stupid ahhh Thomas
@@Roboteer1 indeed, indeed
After the trilogy you gotta watch The Hunger Games and Divergent, it's the rule
Fact lol 😂 those 3 movies dropping around the same time was so iconic and comparable "dystopian world YA"
divergent is such a waste of time after the first one
41:50 this scene is just as hard to read as it is to watch, knowing this was coming didn’t make it any easier
Ah it was obviously going to happen he’s the fat one
The kid from “We’re the Millers” is named Will Poulter. You should look up what he looks like now. Dude definitely had a glow up.
Whatch lord of the rings !!
He definitely needs to
Yes!
Yes please
wait he hasnt seen lord of the rings? wtf
Literally been waiting for 2 years
Ok here's the list:
1. Finish the maze runner trilogy
2. Watch the hunger games trilogy
3. Then watch divergent and insurgent
Is the divergent series good?
Edit: Alright, nonhlanhlangwenya9948, from the replies I've got, I think you just put something really trash into the recommendations. That's bad, very bad, don't make me pay you a visit.
@@tusharrajkonwar2378 No.
Diveregent is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. 😂
@@tusharrajkonwar2378it’s like a bad fun series that you watch when your really bored lol.
Yall LOVE young adult fiction, eh
I love your enthusiasm dude. you're really getting into this movie! You are the coolest kinda guy
Alex NEEDS to watch TEEN WOLF
He does!! Teen wolf (the show) is so good!!
@evafegolfina1603
, They don't remember anything from their past since Wicked had their memories erased before they put them all in that glade.
You really need to do Lord of the Rings and The Hunger Games.
that what iv been saying about the Lord of the Rings, he will absolutely love the trilogy
He’s doing it next year
Oh, and the guy who plays newt plays as one of the little kids from Nanny McPhee which may be why you've seen Newt before
The thing about gally is he looked the strongest and all tough and buff but he was actually the most scared.
9:25 Megatron
Bruh I was gonna say the same thing wtf
“shut up nuts!” had me dying 😂😂😂
I want to see you react to the Hunger Games so bad now, I think it'll be absolutely fantastic
LETS GOOOOOO LORD OF THE RINGS NEXT!!!!
No, he needs to watch the rest of the maze runner movies
Maybe for Christmas special. Fully fed and just chilling
Please god i hope Lord of the Rings is next
I NEED Alex to watch the second movie. This reaction better do numbers!
0:58 you must watch The Hunger Games! But please also read the books 📚
Can Alex read?
@@carlieewitzig147probably not
@@baguetteman2754😂
Honestly though the hunger games movies are so well done and acurate to the books that I wouldn't be pissed at all if he didn't read em. Not like maze runneer 😐
yes. we demanded you watch it because ITS GOOD.
Thomas is my fav character, and his actor Dylan O Brien is my favourite and he also plays as Stiles from teen wolf ❤
16:38 he’s already talking like a glader 😂
Hearing that JP coming through Alex's takes is hilariously epic but actually heartening
Been a huge fan of Dylan O’Brien since the MTV Teen Wolf days. I try to catch everything he’s in. Insanely talented and I think very underrated because he isn’t in the huge block busters all of the time.
I had such a crush on Dylan O'Brian when i was a teenager. This movie is so good.
i have a crush on him now
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault Comments like these are the reason your my favorite content creator😂🙏

Oh, I want SO MUCH for Alex to watch Hunger Games. At least the first one. What a roller-coaster would it be
I literally searched for this reaction because I was convinced you must’ve already done the whole series. And only two days later it’s there 😂🤩
Excited for this one!
27:35 lets just say its been tried, and also newts character from the book is much more flushed out due to that idea
Yeah, but Newt tried it for a different reason...😕
@leuchtkaferchen1639 Can you explain? I read the books but I don't remember
What was the reasons ? What happened etc ?
@@KOBAYE_24There’s not a lot I remember from the books, but I’m pretty sure Newt was a runner at first, but one day he climbed the wall to find a way out, but the stress of the maze got to him and he jumped off to try and unalive himself. He survived, but permanently screwed up his leg, which is why he has a limp, or at least he does in the book. I think it was Alby or Minho who found him and brought him back. He was relegated to jobs within the glade and a rule was established not to climb the wall.
I, a Gally apologist watching Alex reacting to him for the first time:
"Yes yes, hate him while you still can...muahahahahahah!"
Me, also a Gally apologist, but who has never seen any of the sequel movies or read the books:
"That's very hard for me to do."
As a gally apologist I understand him. I could never be mad at him.
@@elizabethblack2674 FACTS!
oh please PLEASE watch the rest of the movies whole trilogy these movies are my faves u gonna love it
27:38 crying at the editor's note rn
dude you need to watch the whole trilogy!! i'm not even joking!!
Like image the situation, waking up in that place, no memories, no instructions, supplies, tool and a maze with monsters, you lost a few people on the process of learning but eventually y'all come with some basic rules and roles and thanks to that y'all can be alive and reasonable well living, but suddenly now this new guy comes, start breaking the rules, now suddenly your safe place is on fire, with the monsters attacking it and some of the people you have know your whole life (cause the lack of memories) are dead, the group is divided and the guy who provocate all of this is like "Nah fam trust me, the grievers posible nest if for sure the way out of this maze"
Like bro, you telling me in Gally's position you wouldn't be heated too? Like yeah we know Thomas is right cuase movie logic but they don't know that
Why aren't the camera people telling them what we think?!? Been yelling for days!!! Lol
Him thinking the walls just crushed everyone was honestly really funny to me for some reason 😂😂
Lord of the Rings! Come on you are doing yourself a disservice!
I lovve the books and movies ans I hate them, adds the wrong tone &
unnecessary time.
Imo
Yes i agree 100% when is Lord of the Rings
@@justmegirl23 I watched the extended editions first, and had no issue with them? I wouldn't suggest he watch them in one sitting, but imo the differences aren't huge. Apart, from the mountain scene with Aragorn (I hope you can guess the difference I'm referring to, as I'm trying not to spoil.), being less suspenseful in the extended addition. I doubt he'll watch the extended versions though.
Hey Alex! Love watching your vids.. when in chilling out. Your editing is getting alot better. Take care
41:37 Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Chuck's death scene was one of the first shot scenes for this movie lol 😂😂
I've got a question: how come Alex hasn't seen any films on Earth? You'd think he'd never watched a film in his life before this channel.
Its the same with every reactor
Idk man. By seeing his reaction he seems genuine.
I know a few people who arent interested in watching movies at all
Maybe the interest came to him late
I have a friend who's like this! She isn't interested in watching movies (to the point that she doesn't have a tv or streaming services), everything she's watched is what her friends showed her, so I guess Alex is in the same position with this youtube channel!
I’m like this 😭 people must think I’ve been living under a rock most of my life because I haven’t seen A LOT of movies, even the popular ones
İf all it takes is demanding for you to watch, then ı'll be back with a list next time.
This editor is wilding 😂 it's hilarious
Ever since I found your channel I can't stop watching
27:35 About the climbing up, they have done that before.
"Everything you think of, we've already tried"-Newt
And on that note, something in the books is that Newt was a runner once and he actually climbed up and jumped off in a su1cide attempt. It's why Newt is no longer a runner, he badly broke his leg and now has a bad limp
34:25 you know him from game of thrones as jojen reed
Hey editor for your question 38:45 sort of in book 2 the kids don’t know that they are immune so WICKED lied to them and told them that they had the flare however they would give them the “cure” (which the kids believed existed) if they walked thru the Scorch to a safe haven. Read the books I love the movies but the books are very different and much better
Yeah one of the only real things I don’t like about these movies is just the degree to which they even change the main plots of the books
@@djhunter6784 the cranks annoy me the most they were so horrifying in the books and would work great on screen
@@patrickoconnor6893 agreed!!

I don’t mind if the movie isn’t a 1:1 to a book, I just am impressed with how well the maze runner did with keeping the main plot the same and not too convoluted. Awesome reaction!
1:10 please watch the Hunger Games Alex!

#1. Maze Runner #2. Hunger Games #3. Divergent
Dylan o Brian is a beast one of the best actors of his generation but so overlooked he made teen wolf
Hah HELL YEA We finally got him to see the MAZE RUNNER!! >:)!!!!
Definitely gotta watch the trilogy. Also highly recommend Love and Monsters, another movie with Dylan in the lead that's seriously underrated!
Eyebrows - Will Poulter has become a very good character actor in everything from Midsommar to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and The Bear.
WATCH HUNGER GAMES!!
In my opinion these are far better than the hunger games, at least in terms of the movies. Idc what anyone says
Totally agree. I remember being so hyped with each of this ones, whilst my wife (gf when they came out) was much more into Hunger Games. I guess the marketing and the romantic parts of HG helped it grow bigger than MR
This.

That kid that you've "seen before and you don't know where you know him from" is Thomas Brodie-Sangster. He's been in quite a few movies, but my favorite of his roles was as Ferb Fletcher in the Phineus and Ferb cartoon. My kids loved that one and I'll admit to even watching it a couple of times all by myself.
