We should make it a priority to pray very specifically and consistently for our government leaders. It’s not easy, if we don’t care for the job that some (or most) government leaders are doing, but we must make it even more of a priority to pray, when that’s the case. When there is persecution and resistance, the church grows. It shakes us from our lethargy, which tends to happen when most everything is going smoothly. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.

Praying for peace and tranquility that is wonderful . I urge you all to pray for nation states lead by leaders who defy the Lord and rely on creating a chaotic environment in order to stay in power

We should make it a priority to pray very specifically and consistently for our government leaders. We can take praying for our government leaders for granted when things are going well. When things are challenging prayer becomes a focus. In the aftermath of evens on 9/11 there was a call to prayer all across America, and the world. People who would normally not pray, or even want prayer banned joined in. This was a time of harvest for the church that we totally missed in so many ways.
While these things are true corporately they are also true individually. One can tend to spend more time with the Lord, in His Word, and in prayer when faced with difficulties. Then when things are back to smooth sailing many walk away from the intimacy with God until the next challenge. This is why a establishing a life of pray is so important. When prayer, time with the Lord, and time in His Presence is a way of life we’re more firmly anchored, and better able, to face the storms of life.
