      It s actually the opposite. Tony got the bestlap or was like 0.1 sec behind at most gp’s but wasnt able to keep that pace the whole moto due to his injuries. He raced all season with knee problems, he went under surgery two days ago

    • @kylegoodman5196
      @kylegoodman5196 3 роки тому +8

      Tony's secret is he's fast without being so fast he's out of control like Jeffrey. Tim Gasjer is like this this. Jeffrey out rides all of them on all tracks but he's liable to ride himself off the track and off his bike just as easily as he is to win. Tony Cairoli and Tim Gasjer simply don't ride that aggressive and they reap the rewards.

    There was a sand section before the finish at the Ironman national one year where that dude’s bike only touched the ground in three spots. Everyone else’s bike was only coming off the ground in three spots. So crazy. He started 40th and ended up winning regardless

    Herlings is starting to mature and realize that you dont need to win every moto for the championship. KTM has been trying to mellow him out for years and I think he's finally gotten it. Earlier this year after a GP win Herlings said he was relieved that he didnt win one of the motos....he didnt want the pressure he puts on himself to keep a perfect win streak going....

    Herlings, like Senna, is so overwhelming at times, his competitors accept how great he is out of awe and respect. Senna was famous for backmarkers slowing down a lot more for him than for any other driver just to let him by as soon as the lime yellow helmet was reflected on the rear view mirror.

    About 25 years ago, an Oz Qld Champ went and did some races in the US. Some of the Nationals they start the 'big names' off in their race, and it's like the 'B'class group that start about a third to a half of a lap after them, depending on how quickly they line up of course. He was in that group.
    He was blown away when the top guys were lapping him only 3 laps later, and he just couldn't get over how much faster they were. He felt like he had just started racing all over again.

      Nils Teegen Then how come Herlings lost to Cooper Webb at MXGP Charlotte? And in the 2nd race lost to a 16 y/o Austin Forkner? That Ironman 2017 Tomac was protecting a title, Herlings wasn’t. He already lost to Cairoli.

    • @frankiek2269
      @frankiek2269 4 роки тому +1

      Nils Teegen Also, If GPs have better riders, how did a Tomac take first in 5 out of the 6 MXGP races he raced in? How come Americans have more MXON wins than the rest of the world? How come America has an unbeaten streak record of 13 straight wins? And how come America has the only “perfect” race there (1986)? Twice now every single MXGP rider was beaten by an American on the smaller bike (O’Mara on 125 in ‘86 and Vilopoto on 250F in ‘07)? How come America has the GOAT (Carmichael)? If you say Everts is the GOAT, then explain how RC beat him every time they raced. I’m embarrassed for you for your ignorance.

      @@frankiek2269 little reminder to fresh up that selective memory of yours , Herlings beat Tomac in 7 of 8 moto's .. he lost a single moto against Webb and Forkner in that race he could win the title after missing out for 2 years in a row ..week after he whooped Martin and Forkner at Glen helen .. if you give Tomac the benefit of racing for the title at ironman , make sure you do same for Herlings at Charlotte dude ..looks a bit butthurt this way

      @frankiek2269 4 роки тому

      @@DouweEgbert I am older than that. While I am a fan of Tomac, I am also a fan of Herlings. But my all-time favorite is RC. I think when Herlings is 100% healthy, he’s the fastest on two wheels in dirt now. But I also remember Roczen beating him in the 250 and then Roczen got beat by Tomac on the 250. www.redbull.com/ke-en/jeffrey-herlings-mx2-world-champion-2016-ktm Herlings already wrapped the MX2 title before the second race. Glen Helen was MXGPs last race in ‘16. Herlings went into it with a 94 point lead on Sewer. -20 = 74 lead on the start of Charlotte 2nd race. That’s means all he needed was to come in 20th in one of his last three motos to win. Not at all the same as Tomacs situation at Ironman. And Tomac and Herlings only raced each other on the same bikes 3 times. Herlings took 1st 5/6 times. Tomac only got the 1. And you’re right, Jeffrey went to GH and beat Forkner. But he never should have been beaten by a 16y/o in the first place, right? Plus, maybe a little lucky Webb got hurt before the race. Herlings admitted Webb was just too fast for him in that second race. But I agree with you on that point you made. One race doesn’t make a champion. A season does. That being said, AMA is tougher competition. Otherwise, America wouldn’t have so damn many MXON titles.

Herlings in races where he starts at the back of the pack are insane to watch. Have copy of a lot of those races. Lierop 2012, he laps everyone but one. MXON 2012, he falls at the start and goes through the field with an amazing speed. Argentina in 2017, few minutes to go and loads of seconds behind Cairoli who was pretty fast himself, wins the race. Awesome to watch.

    10 secs is horseshit wow. I remember when I was younger there was a fairly decent MX rider that use to ride at our local track he’s a gun Nathan Brochtrup and he’s a great rider. He use to leave us in the dust but go to the mx nats and get top 20 bit later on I his career but like wow how much faster can you go

      Think the hardpack track Todd is refering to is Lelystad www.mc-flevoland.nl/ I've seen Jeffrey ride there many times. My son rides there weekly normally. It is insane to watch.

      Jordan King Remember. Before Roczens two bad crashes, he used to own Herlings. I’m a Tomac fan myself. But I think Herlings is the fastest on two wheels in dirt right now. But you take all the top riders and if it’s their day, no one can touch em. Plus at Ironman, he passed Tomac and Tomac was coming back after him until he crashed. Then Tomac had a MX championship to protect in the second moto. Next time they raced, Tomac beat Herlings at MXGP Charlottesville in the first race. So far ahead that by the time Herlings got to second it wasn’t worth the risk to bother trying to catch Tomac because of the last-race-wins-all-ties BS. But in the second race Herlings got a better start and the roles were reversed. Tomac made it to third but couldn’t pass Cairoli right away and just settled for third. Taking second overall. But so far they are 5 wins(motos) to 1 in Herlings favor racing each other. Would love to see them race on a regular. I am glad Herlings is back 90-95% of his usual speed since his crash. By the time this quarantine is lifted, I’m sure he will be 100%.

    Ya wonder why he is so fast he must be a special human.. Or is it the factory fuckin race engine from KTM with next level equipment pulling his ass around the track making him be able to do what he wants?? It's not all about the rider. If he was on a non factory bike his results would be very different. same for alot of Pro's.

      In the American Iron man races, he wasn't allowed to use his own bike and he got an unknown American bike he had little time to practice on and he still smoked tomac and all other Americans on their own turf.

    Hearlings is so fast that he stays in MXGP on the guaranteed wins racing on vet tracks instead of coming to the Premier League in The USA and competing against the best in the world... can't claim to be the best when your only beating scrubs like Cairolli he's clearly scared of true competition can't respect that whatsoever
