- Tau Nick and Chaos Nick show off one the most heavily converted Chaos armies we've seen. They delve deeper into the lore of the army as well as what's its like to play chaos. It's pure hobby love.

I'm a simple man, I see Tau Nick, and I click. I love his character, his enthusiasm, and his personality. Keep up the great work Nick!!!
Thank you! Kind of you to say!
Not gonna lie. I don't even play 40K but after I watched Tau Nick play, I fell in love with the game. Super infectious energy in the best way.

Im a simple man, i feel exactly lile you.
The Codex Astartes does not support this action.

I actually wanted a list of names. :(
So you're saying to suspect everyone of Heresy?
We already do. ;)
We do!
That is one of the most beautifully painted armies I’ve ever seen
True dat.
Thank you! Really appreciate the comment.
We very much agree!
And modelled, mind blowing
We need to get this guy to face off against the astra millitarum goblin army, a battle of the artists
ooooh! Great Idea
Hey, could I ask for some link to this goblin army?

@@Longtail626 thanks, much appreciated! Imperator bless you!
The lore is really cool and the army looks so unique. Lovely.
Thank you.
Hmmmmm, I remember that knight. I feel like he got up close and personal with someone...
It did not go well for him.
Tau Nick here- That was a good day.
Yes, if I remember rightly, it was the T'au...
"The game is a shared narrative between two people". Love this quote. Respect.
Truth!
This is the army that inspired me to start building and playing 40k. I was so disappointed when I learnt that I couldn't buy that defiler model haha. It has now inspired me to make my own converted CSM army though, I love the story aspect behind it. Awesome work!
Did you manage to find the heldrake model anywhere?
Slaneesh: things we cant talk about cuz family show
Also these guys with khorn: blood, death, cutting people to pieces
Haha yup, society's sensibilities are all outta whack.
As a fellow devotee to the hardcore "Convert everything", I applaud the effort and imagination that went into this. My Nurgle Tau salute you. :)
My genestealers marines to 😉
I remember this army when it was first showcased on the channel and it is still awesome
It still is. So great to see!
That chaos army is a great reminder of just how brilliant the scope of 40k lore allows for so much creative freedom. It’s a big galaxy half thrown into darkness with no interplanetary contact so just about any backstory you can come up with for your army could fit into the canon if it follows the rules.
So great that you can tell most of that story just by looking at your army. Well done!
Give Tau Nick my best wishes! I just started building my own army and I can say that it was at least 20% of his love for the Tau that I started building mine! I look forward to the next time we see him battle and I want him to know I am rooting for him. For the Greater Good!
Seeing this army again though was a real treat and I loved every little detail on them!
Tau nick here- thanks!
I come back to this army so often. This is the most impressive army I am aware exists. The conversion, the feeling of it, the bubble domes…the lady marines aspect is just icing on the “they are your models make them yours” cake. I really love this army. Every time I do a conversion I think of it.
I’ve debated making an Emperor’s Children army where I swap out the heads of noise marines with Daemonette heads
Do it. I did with Khorne with Beastmen heads. It looks amazing and easily makes the unit a centerpiece.
I think Deamonettes as marines would be cool, but i think their heads on a marine body would look abit strange and disproportionate. I think you’d have to make custom armour suitable for a deamonette frame, which is admittedly a lot more work but might look better. Just my thoughts
That would be very interesting conversion! Go for it!
@@PlayOnTabletop here’s to hoping they turn out alright! 🍺
Good idea. I have an Emperor's Children army. For my Noise Marines, I used ammo crates from a WW2 set, filed them down, and turned them into sound speakers, with which I replaced the heads with.
Tau Nick is such a huge fuckin nerd, I love it.
He's loud and he's everywhere, but its not annoying. You see the empathy and passion in his eyes
He's a happy gamer.
I have to say this original game was one of the first I seen as I have just started getting into this game! Had that “challenge accepted” moment with all the inspiration you guys have done with these armies and love that you guys have began to showcase not only the games but the set ups of the terrain along with videos like these! Thank you for doing this and would love to some day get to this level and play with you all 😊
This is great. Really enjoy the army spotlight videos.
man, you guys are so entertaining to watch and listen to. Amazing models and such a great interview
Thank you! Chaos Nick is a Joy to hang out with,
This is how you paint/convert an army. Take notes boys.. love the space helmets.
Gotta protect yourself while keeping excellent 360 visibility. Thanks!
Shitting all over the lore for the sake of "diversity"? Yeah I am taking notes.
@@fozzilla123 Ultramarine player detected
It would be fun to have a revenge match between the two of you where T'au Nick would play Chaos and Chaos Nick would play T'au
I endorse this message, but I'll never be able to bring the same energy as Tau Nick...
Great video, definitely do more of these! Love to see a close up of Tac’s army.
Need to get some Sisters of Battle & more Blood Angels on the channel. ;)
Stunning army absolutely inspiring! Thanks for showcasing
Thanks!
Army unironically inspired me to get around to finishing up my Chaos Knight house.
All I see is chaos. Melee Tau Nick and Chaos Nick being bros. HERESY!!!
Besides Tau Nick being a great guy, maybe Chaos' tendrils will slowly infiltrate his soul and we'll have two Chaos Nicks...
Guy: "There are four Chaos gods that exist since a beginning of time. "
Me a 40k nerd: Autistic screaming!
Cries echoed throughout the Imperium upon that mis-spoken lore... hahah
Well they technically did, and didn't. The warp is weird. Sure the gods manifested in the physical realm at different times (most notably Slaanesh), but from what I gather they've always existed in the warp due to it's non-chronological flow of time
Came down to the comments looking for this as soon as he said it haha.
@@aggulvar Wibbly wobbly timey whimey feels like a weak counterpoint. All the lore I've read in the rulebooks and Codexs says Khorne, Tzeentch and Nurgle were "created" during the War in Heaven and Slaanesh by the Aeldari. The phrase "since the beginning of time" implies they had no start point when they clearly did.
@@kevinjackson7169 There's a story wherein an Ork Warboss entered the warp with a Waagh, only to emerge minutes before he entered it, prompting him to attack his own army just so he could get a copy of his favourite gun. I know it feels like a weak counterpoint but fact is that time is indeed weird in the Immaterium, even though it was also described as far calmer in the days of the Necrontyr. The lore contradicts itself a bunch, probably due to the difficulties of having a time-chronological dimension exist parallel to a timey-wimey dimension and having it make sense.
Nick, you're a wonderful story teller. Not only with your effusive and charismatic way of showing your passion for the hobby, but in the way you've crafted and created this amazing army.
We'd love to see more table top play with this army, I definitely want to see this passion in play! The battle against the Tau was great! Up vote this to heaven and let's make it happeeennnnnnnn 😍
Thank you! I love the story aspect of these games.
The skeleton heads on some of those guys are just too sick. Definitely gonna do something like that when I start a chaos army.
This makes me happy. I just started getting into the game and picked up my first kit, not a lot done on it with limited time but I'm already all about the story and how I can reflect that. THanks for the awesome showcase!
Modeling to create a story is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. I hope you enjoy it!
Hello, honored newbie brother!
Welcome brother neophyte.
Phenomenal work. Such awesome conversions
Thank you Nick and Nick. I watched this army play a few months ago in the batrep and it did indeed inspire me to start an army. I'm working on a conversion now of Genestealer cults converted into a chaos cult based on the villians of the books for Eisenhorn and Gideon Ravenor.
That sounds awesome, I love when factions cross-over, it's a great opportunity to re-use old bits.
This is so cool!!! I think we all love this showcase series
Sweet armies! Thank you for sharing. I hope there will be more of these inspiring videos in the future.
That is one of the most amazing armies I’ve ever seen! Super well done Sir!!
Thanks!
Beautifully done! Couldn't have expressed the story telling and hobby aspect of the game any better! I'm currently building a Thousand Sons army and am using alot of conversions myself, so seeing this definitely gave me some extra motivation and inspiration! Cheers guys!
Love hearing about more converted 1k sons armies, good luck!
Love the conversions, they look awesome! I've always been a fan of converted models, looking at this makes me want to dial up the conversions in my own army.
Thanks! Highly recommend it, converting is a fun part of the hobby.
Yes you guys made more showcase videos!
Greetings from the snowy forests! You have wonderful miniatures and excellent work! Thank you so much for the inspiration given by this demonstration!
It's amazing there are talented people that can build models like this. Amazing models and love the new tau
this, togheter with the gretchin imperial guard total conversions are 2 of the most inspiring hobby army i have ever witnessed in many years of warhammer
His tau looks so insanely detailed it looks incredible.
Thanks! I have a couple more on my Instagram (grav.carto) if you are interested.
Beautiful army! Love the tau . Keep up the amazing work!
Amazing story, amazing hobby skill on display. The HZD vibes came through really well on that Defiler. I am really digging the Tau as well, with that incredible battle damage. Plus, having the pilots outside of their battle suits is a really nice touch, and kind of "humanizes" those units a bit more.
Yes!!! I know I'm late to this but thank you SO MUCH POT for doing this.
I have watched Nick vs Nick countless times now and I hope above all hopes to have a rematch with new addition rules.
I also hope for a rematch some day... I need my revenge!
Need more of this guys stuff. Amazing
We do too. So Cool.
Saw them during the Tau vs Chaos game, this army is absolutely gorgeous! I would love to see some Dark Mechanicum conversions done by Chaos Nick.
I'm thinking about it...
I love love love NIck's Chaos Space Marines, reminds me of Maschinen Krieger a lot in a very good way!
I've been inspired by a lot of mech artists, and I wouldn't be surprised if I paint up some Ma. K models in the future...
@@gravcarto8314 would love to see your take on 'em. Keep on rocking man!

What a beautiful army. I love the rusty worn look myself because it feels lived. Bravo
Look... I appreciate the background music you all put in. But the moment I saw them bubble helmets, I had to open up another tab and look up the starcraft 1 terran music. Just how it is.
This is what I love to see, an interesting battle report with an interesting army
I didn't know people put so much backstory into individualizing their armies like this. This is neat.
It’s half the fun to me. I’m not even done collecting and building my Space Marine army but have a full story and each company already detailed!
I find it helps when making creative decisions with the army, it puts them in a place and time.
Really enjoyed the time this army was in a match. Can't wait to see Chaos Nick play a game on this channel with the new rules.
The terminators are my favourite model ever!! They're so fierce !! Like walking fortresses . Absolutely stunning!
I saw this back during a batrep and fell in love. Such a great looking army.
What an inspirational army! I hope I could put something together half as cool.
I'm sure you can!
I Really enjoyed looking at this army and also his fluff is neat. Im inspired to do the same now.
Last time I was this early Horus was still a good boy
I'm a bit late but I love seeing people who prefer battling with interesting armies instead of meta-focused ones. A real inspiration to me!
This army is insane, great job man !
This is awesome... beautiful 🤩
Absolutely stunning army. All time favorite. One day I want to see it in person!
Just found a nearby hobby shop. Didn't want to paint my minis until I could find people to teach me. Excited to hopefully get into this game after watching you guys play

Tau definitely value life more than most races in 40k, that's a fact.
I feel like if Steve showed off ALL of his space marines we’d be here forever lol
This might be the coolest army I've seen so far.
Where are you guys? This is the best 40k channel on youtube!!

It's not an episode of Play On Tabletop without Tau Nick's legendary charisma.
These models are absolutely gorgeous!
They really are! We love them.
Thanks!
Congrats on the chaos army and on that beard!
Amazing art and work
Thanks!
Looks amazing!
You inspired me to do a lot more conversions. I play Orks so that's a good fit. ATM I'm working on a big Mek with KFF. A friend of mine told me he looks like he was bought that way so that's a nice compliment. I'll definitely use more wires now :D
Wires, greenstuff cables, they all add visual interest and are easy to do!
This army looks insane, I love it.
Great stuff.
Your army is terrifying.

But it stirs emotions.
It does leave a lasting impression!
That is a great, themed army. Well done.
Thank you!
Love it. Can se the Horizon inspiration. Beautiful
Love the Tau too. Has the battle robot look.
When we saw Nick's army at a tournament a couple years ago we knew he had to get on the channel with it. Love Horizon Zero Dawn.
Very inspiring
Thanks Chaos Nick for showing us your army. Follow him on Instagram at instagram.com/grav.carto/

"I like mechs, I like things that are dirty and rusty and very grim" how does that sentence not end with the Admech? Seeing what he could do with that army would be great.
I know, I know... it's on the list!
@@gravcarto8314 lol I didnt expect you to read this. Im sorry, I didnt try to pressure, I just got so excited by the lead up because Admech is my favourite looking army for these exact reasons. Either way, awesome looking army and cant wait to see your next one.
I would love to make an chaos army out of converting primaris models, they are new, better looking and would be great to convert into chaos
100% agree, even the size alone makes them better.
Just love this army! Particularly those daemon engines..... Wicked stuff
So wholesome, I love it
I am a simple man. I see Tau Nick, I click. Awesome dude.
I'm building a BA army. I love that my army has a story too (like you) the story is that this small force of BA has been fighting for so many years on a feral planet and they had lost all the communication with the chapter so the models in my army are dirty with a lot of weathering on them (the story is forced but I like it very much and painting them is really relaxing and fun)
Edit: sorry for the English, I'm from a non-English country.
Building an army towards a story is my favorite way to do it.
