They need to make an ultra-micro Focke-Wulf. The new Flyzone AirCore Focke-Wulf is pretty small, but not UM, and probably a bit too big for indoors. I know the FW is a "bad guy" plane, but man is it a good looking warbird. :)
I keep on running into your comments for some reason
LOL =)
Gabriel Woller Hehe, I do tend to make a lot of comments, especially on good videos like those that Flite Test makes. :)
I find that "Bad guy" planes are underrepresented in the hobby in general. Mustangs, Lightnings, and Corsairs are a dime a dozen, but it is surprisingly difficult to find a good quality 109, FW 190 or Zero.
Great job guys as usual. Wouldn't expect anything less. :)
I received the P-51 for Christmas. Waiting for flying weather! I can't wait. My first plane and I've wanted one since I was a kid. I feel like a kid again waiting to fly it! :)
MolonLabeUSA did it survive?
I'm impressed by all of these little warbirds. The counter-rotating props of the P-38 was impressive and added to its stability much as the original aircraft. The multi bladed props on each aircraft was as the originals also. All three are great little pieces of great fun and very realistic.
Great vid as always guys. I 've got the spit and the p51 and their both great. Your right about the spit being a more advance plane out of the two. The p51 is awesome and my go to um if I need a quick fix. Would love a german um warbird too.
One of my best friends has the Flyzone P-38. He's had it for over a year now, and it's a little beat up. However, he absolutely loves that plane, and brings it whenever we go RC flying! Also, he is a crazy good pilot, and he does loops and rolls all over the place with it! I'm personally looking into getting the Parkzone UM P-51, partly so I can keep up with his P-38!
The P-38 lightning was reviewed few months ago by joehandsome99 ! Really good little plane! Great job guys as usual! Lot of fun everytime!
It's funny you mention the P-38 wasn't meant to fly upside down, because that's true. The engines on the real airplane weren't rated for sustained negative Gs.
yup also u cant go in a steep dive or u will lose control for some reason
It's called compression I think
the reason the couldn'tgo upside down is because prop planes had carburetors whereas jets have fuel injectors so they could sustain upside down flight
That might be true for your car or lawnmower, but that wasn't the case for airplanes. They had ways to pressurize the fuel system like a fuel injection system, which allowed the plane to fly in pretty much any direction.
My great grandfather was a pilot of a spitfire
Did it have a battery hanging out of it
Charlie Leonhart lol
john daymond-king cool
john daymond-king My dad was a ball turret gunner on a B-24. Spit pilot though, wow.
my best friend's great great great great uncle designed the first spitfire.
one of the Best rc channels out there,Great info and you guys always make me smile & laugh and if your not having fun your doing it wrong!!!
great video guys!!! Please do a review on the Interceptor 2 that'd be SUUUPER GREAT :D
Josh ,Josh & Alex; Thanks for the Micro Warbird review !
The Spitfire is still my favorite of these three. They are all great though! Even though the P40 hasn't gotten as good feedback as the others, I still really enjoy that one too. Nice review.
Great video, and thanks for the Audible coupon. I spent the last few days enjoying Stephen Fry narrating the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
It's insane how much I look forward to the nex Flite Test video!
We appreciate you watchin :)
FliteTest LOVE YOUR VIDS😄
As soon as my phone dings I drop everything to watch
Now I know how you get such stable gopo video on a wobbly pvc pipe. That is brilliant!
Awesome video guys! I would also like to see an FPV versio of the P-38.
Ahh the P-38 loops are so classy, even the game for the NES had those lol, I fly the P-38 in a game called "War Thunder" such a good experience with that plane, I love it.
P-38 loop @ 5:24
You guys really need to bring these back,
They are all beautiful planes! I have the P-40 w/ AS3X. Love it! take off landing gear and change prop to 4 blade for great performance. P-38 will be my next micro. Thanks for the review and another great vid.
Thanks for being awesome!
The P-38 is great. Was my first RC plane. Very forgiving and gentle to fly.
this is my favorite channel
I didn't know you posted reviews on a wednesday! :)
Horizon Hobby has great products , Flite Test is Awesome ! Waiting for my Mustang's delivery from Horizon . Thanks guys !!!!
Those are all great looking planes!
i really hope you guys do a review on the anylink ive always wanted your guys's opinion
ohhhh my!
LOLS the hanging pony! bet y'all are glad for the safety netting.
My friend Curtis gave me his Lighting - man it flies SOOO nice. When my spitfire was working, it was great, but the 2-3 minute flight times kinda sucked. Got used to the old T-28 and P-51 with 7-9 minute flight times.
i just got my own Ultra micro p-51 mustang, and used nano cpx's brushless conversion, its nice to fly and i have more confidence of pushing it to limits without worrying about brushess dying
Would have been nice if you guys shot this video outside. You are great pilots and seeing you guys flying these outside would have been great.
I just bought the Mustang today! I know it will be the best!
so i got the old version of the mustang like you guys mentioned and I also had the su-26 bnf but my su-26 is gone lol but the mustang needs repaired
I honestly enjoy large scale warbirds but these are nice to.
Also Scale preformance is nice as well.
Love my itty bitty P-38,fun review.P-51 now in my sights, must have!!
Good video and I agree that there are tons of great options out there. I am more partial to one brand over the others as you all can see by my videos, but I love all RC planes! :)
Finally, awesome! I've been waiting for this episode since the september update, yeah!!! Love it guy's. I like to ales more in the vid's btw.
You guy's see my UA-cam account picture? That's my scratch build 40 cm span p-38.

Nice work :)
these are the best videos
Mr Scott always brings the humor :-)
I have the original parkzone p51 mustang, and it didn't have gyros, yet it was easy and fun to fly.
im gettiing one of these they look soo cool
I love my micro spitfire. It is my most crashed plane because you can try crazy stunts with it. Like inverted into the roof. That was fun to get back
The fuel system on the P-38 limited its negative g time to about 15 seconds so as long as you have positive G forces while inverted the plane would perform fine
My dad has a rc piper cub, had a hellcat (was preatty big) but sold it, and he had the spitfire but I do not know if he still has it. I never got the chance to fly it but I have flown the cub.
Me and some co-workers have about 10 of these guys in various conditions. Because they're brushed they're pretty slow so like they said, you need a few of them in the sky before it gets exciting. I just picked up a spitfire for 70 bucks brand new, very cheap fun :)
How about a tutorial on that gopro PVC mount? Got some pretty cool footage with it.
Great job!!!
Sadly, my AS3X system in my spitfire has gone haywire and the plane is now un-flyable because the AS3X keeps over-correcting and causing the plane to swing side to side until it goes down. Does anyone know of a way to hard reset the brick? I have tried restarting the aircraft and rebinding, but the problem still exists. Man I miss the old non-as3x warbirds - they all still work.
Can the p38 hold a small ccd and clover leaf for fpv?
I more or less learned to fly with the original micro 51, it was the plane where everything clicked, before it was always the need to trim loop, (gotta be able to fly to trim, gotta have a trimmed plane to learn how to fly, lol). It helped it took a lot of crashes (if you cut throttle). I still have it with tiny bright lights, it flies, just. Will put the tbl on another and never fly her again.
I was searching for the p 38 and the spitfire 2 or 3 hours but both of them aren't in stock :/
Any chance of a P-38 lightening swappable ? :-)
What you noticed about the P-38. The inherent stability of the counter rotation engines. Your Micro reflects the real world experiences of the WWII P-38 drivers. The Real P-38 was a huge 7 ton behemoth of a fighter, yet many an ME109 pilot DIED trying to stay with it in the tight turns of a dogfight. The single engine planes are so much more susceptible to the engine torque and to secondary stalls in High Alpha tight turns.
The 38 might stall, but it wouldn't flip over and head for the dirt like a single engine plane does. It would just mush outward in the turn. An astute pilot could yank the nose into the turn as the plane was mushing outward to take a shot no other plane could make, except for the Mitsubishi ZERO.
id love to see a review of the micro and larger t-28 trojans from horizon
Spitfire is with polish signature. I LOVE IT!!!
My great grandfather built spitfires in ww2 I think he also worked on the Lancaster at some point it saved his life being a skilled workman because he was more valuable in the war building planes than fighting so basically if it wasn't for the spit I wouldn't exist and we would all be speaking German in Europe
The Mustang flies very well, I only got to fly mine five times before the ESC died. In my opinion it's the best flying one out of the micro series.
On the topic of warbirds, i would love to see more Flite Test warbirds. maybe a FT p-40?
Hey guys I was wondering were you got the Rc mini spitfire. Also cool video
Nice venue too!
Could you guys do a review on the fms p-51 1700mm
I have the mustang.
Great plane
Love it
liking the indoor flying, yet i think they should do an episode on some shock flyers :P
The nostalgia makes me want it to still be 2-3 years ago.
so how did you guys be able to fly on the indoor turf field?
wish they were in stock, after I watched the video I looked them up on HORIZON HOBBY but they are discontinued
I just love the look of the p 38 but the link is old and non in stock
can you fix the links for the p-38, they are not working.
Sort of like the old Comet kits, no longer sold,
or the Earl Stahl patterns from the 30's and 40's.
I liked before I watched it because I know that the video is going to be awesome anyways :)
Nice little plane's liked
Check out Martin Newell's channel. He has a fully fly-able 1:96 scale P-51D Mustang controlled with 8-channels. It also has gyro stabilization and is flown outside with blistering speed in zero-wind conditions.
i don't like how much safety stuff is on it but im gonna get the sport cub S+ I think its called. if I could get the mustang or spitfire I would but the links provided aren't usable. does anyone know what these models are called?
Hey guys, which do you think flies better? PZ AS3X P-51 or the Aircore P-51?
"That's not a pack of hyena's people!"..lolol...Love you guys.
The real P-38 did very well inverted due to the fuel injection and the TURBO chargers, not Super Charges but real turbo chargers. It was the early spitfires that had a gravity fed carburetor that did not like inverted flight. The engines would quit! Even doing a push over dive was enough zero G to keep the fuel from flowing through the carb.
Im just getting into the rc world and I'm looking for a good 6-7 channel transmitter that can bind to most planes and last for my whole rc career... any suggestions?
I've got the P-51 and this video doesn't really show how well it can maneuver mainly because of the cramped space. It's really nice to fly outside and do some rolls and loops with. The AS3X is a really nice feature which lets you fly in windier conditions than when I thought would be responsible.
Great point
How well does this fly outside on a day with no wind?
It said that the link for the lightning wasn't able to be found
will they fly outside and do you recomend them for beginners
were can you buy these?
Liam Nave Links are in the description
Mannnnn, I remember Discovery Zone from when I was a kid too!! LOL
i have the spitfire and to be honest its a bit on the heavy side which really lets it down compared to other ultra micros like the t-28 which i also own
Is this good for starting
Another small indoor sized plane is
an e-flight umx f4u corsair.
Is there a Transmitter recommendation or review video? I need a transmitter, I want to fly planes, quads, and heli's. I don't want to spend 300.00
What is the flight time on for the P-51D Mustang?
CA can hold well on props if your lucky. A friend was working on my computer and hit my CPU fan and a blade popped off. He used industrial CA on it and its still working normal and quiet (balanced) and that was 3 years ago or more.
i bought the p-51D last night :D
i had the p 51 and i had to bash the crap out of the throttle to get it to turn otherwise it would tip stall at any speed
other than warp speed
It's a shame we don't make such things in this country any longer.
How do you use the controller with the plane?
I found the p51 needs a little more prop, the one I bought has almost no vertical
Discovery Zone was an awesome place!
PLEASE, I am seeing thumb controls that is on the radio that Alex is using.... please, where could I purchase those?
would this plane be good for an average size soccer field?
Tech top too much wind if it's outside
I love the propellers, historically accurate :))
Extra like for the Discovery Zone mention. Childhood memories.
You should make a TA-152 kit I think it would be very cool And fun to build
Also a nasty problem of theese planes is that the micro brushed motors come from CD-Readers and so and have a nasty tendendy to burn out quickly.. my 2 planes have eaten arround 6 motors in 3 years and have not flown that much...
A new motor is arround 13$
Us a capacitor to stop the motor from over loading
marco jonker
i dont know.. i dont overpower my motors... i usualy cruise arround at 50-60% throotle and not often i go WOT...
sparrowlt what do you mean by WOT
marco jonker
WOT = Wide Open Throttle.. a short way to say "full power"
sparrowlt ok
Where do you get these and what are they
