We’ve got ‘Eadscarves, ‘Ats, ‘Osiery and an ‘Ost of unbelievable bargains. Reminds me of when Mr ‘Armon said the ats were for “if you want to get a ‘ead get a ‘at week. (If you want to get ahead get a hat week). I had to explain these jokes to my American family; they didn’t know what dropped aitches meant.
It's just weird thinking about the fact that Wendy Richard was 9 years older than my dad. Miss Brahms was one of the sexiest characters in TV history, especially during the earlier seasons.
Has anyone seen those 'boudoir' shots of Wendy in her Baker St flat??? In her black corset and suspenders??? My god what a doll. I mean a doll...she's up there with Jill St John and Stella Stevens and Jane Mansfield for sure.
I wish they would upload the whole episode. Some of the best lines are found later in this episode at Romano's: Waiter (to Mrs. Slocombe): *A nice aperitif?* Mrs. Slocombe, thinking he had said "A nice pair of teeth": *Oh, thank you, they're my own!*
Would someone kindly explain to a confused Yankee why Miss Brahms interpreted "upmarket" as such? I figured she meant a common market or something...wasn't sure though.
When the riched was absolutely beautiful. Not just during the years of are you being served but was always beautiful. I don't know about anybody else but to me, this show became unentertaining when Mr Spooner was in the show instead of Lucas.
@Units Received it's not though is it? It promotes a perception that women are there for mens sexual gratification. It supports the behaviour of Weinstein and prince Andrew. You sit and watch it for enjoyment shows me what a sick pervert you are. Please get help I beg you. For all our sakes
Wendy Richard was an absolute legend.
The look on Mr. Humphries face after she finishes the posh accent is absolutely priceless.
“We have suits and trisers in blues and brines for arind and abite a hundred pinds.”
Great affected la-di-da voice. Nice one, Wendy.
She nailed the Queens voice
She nailed the Queen
I love that are being serve it makes me laugh all the time
All the episodes are funny as well
If only it' dbeen a thiysind piynds, but that would have seemed like too much money!
Rather reminds one of the posh characters played in several sketches by the Two Ronnies.
"For round and about a hundred pounds." *forced smile* (That is so great it kills me...)
Vivienne Johnson ( the nurse with sexy voice) is still alive, according to wiki
Gorden Kaye looks so different without the mustache.
Like a gentler and kinder Stephen Fry.
Don't come much gentler or kinder that the real Mr Fry
And hair.
“Hello there shopping people”. That gave me life!
Her smile after the heightened rp voice is just gold.
Gorden Kaye was HILARIOUS in this episode of AYBS!
I didn't recognize him clean-shaven!
When Miss Brahms goes posh, I thought the queen had walked in😂
Which one lots of Queens in England lol
Our current queen, Elizabeth II
No, Mr Humphries was there the whole time 😂
That moment when she says: "Hang on a moment..." LMAO!!!
Mr. Rumbold and that toupee. 😂😂
“We seem to have travelled from the grotesque to the bizarre”
I still say that
"Look at that head. It's shining like the dome of St. Paul's!"
Mr. Humpries' high-pitched "cue" was hilarious
She went from Eliza Doolittle to Queen Elizabeth II
It's René Artois from Allo Allo!
I had such a crush on her, great show
The advert could have been made by Ruth Madoc too lol :D "Hello shoppers!"
I didn't recognize Gordon Kaye any of the times I watched this until today. :)

Why not? We do that too sometimes.
Thank you, we needed all the laughs in these perilous times
Much laughter is warranted and good for ones internal organs and good medicine
Dead common! 😂😂😂
Wendy Richard & Vivienne Johnson..hotness.
Hahaha, this man in red jacket is "René from Allo Allo.🤭
I was getting a Morecambe and Wise vibe from Inman and Kaye, especially at 2:22.
Sadly for some strange reason I cannot find this episode on UA-cam.
Wonderful memories..........I love them all.
Les Griffiths Australia
Convincing London accent for a girl from Middlesbrough in Yorkshire.
Just cos you were born somewhere doesn't mean you keep the accent..
She was raised in London as a child
she was brought up in Streatham

This show was brilliant
Imagine if rene 2 here referred to humphries as the one who fancies me lol

I loved this episode so much
THE BBC TRIED TO GET TOO MUCH MILEAGE OUT OF THE SERIES WHEN THE ORIGINAL CAST HAD GONE
She sounds like a fish wife...I fell out!
My favorite episode. Vivienne Johnson should have been in more episodes. She's so beautiful and has such a sexy voice
My sides hurt laughing at this video everytime I watch it...

In Britain upmarket means posh - think how British newsreader talk, Miss Brahms thought they meant like a typical East End marketplace
@@richardphillips1971 guess thats how Wendy Richard got the role on East Enders 😄
Allo allo, shoppers.
That isn't the real Mr Grace......
This was supposed to be "Young Mr. Grace's" older brother, "Old Mr. Grace" who replaced the original character.
I luv them all and now they are all gone God bless them
Lol Pauline Fowler
loved Wendy in East Enders also 😀
Id love it if rene 2 here called mrs slocombe a silly old bat lol

No one asked you to go into a tent don't bother with a last chance your not the person that gives out chances in life . Wendy Richards.
So smutty, I hate how it degrades women so offensive
It's how things were at the time but funny thing was nobody really took offence.
do u even like women?
@@stumack9755 I respect them they are incredible creatures. My mum is one. What type of question is that?
@@jameswyse8250 they were too scared to say anything
