After a lot of playthroughs - this Wonderland is literally genius and one of the best musical works I've heard in my life. Of course two other songs are 10/10 at least, as they usually do, but this version of Wonderland is really groundbreaking. I am not brave enough to put the album into my private ranking list yet, and, frankly, for Dreamcatcher it does not makes a lot of sense. Because its top half, and especially top quarter, holds so much talent and beauty that it hangs on the edge of collapsing into a black hole. They make all the other music redundant.
The Christmas carol was great. I actually have a mixed relationship with modern Christmas songs, at least since the unspeakable “Last Christmas” by Wham! with George Michael from 1984. But I have to thank Dreamcatcher for now ending that curse. The two original cover versions are also of high quality, but I'm not into jazz, so I like "Wonderland" better. No matter - it was an unexpected Christmas surprise. Like the cover released today by Siyeon ("YUKI NO HANA”) - please react, too. And - I wish you a blessed Christmas from Germany.
As soon as I saw Chrismas Sweet Love I knew you were in trouble, so well done for persevering, and at least now you know you are not yet going bald at the back ! Totally agree with you about Jazz Bar, I also love the original but the new version is even better. I have to admit I much prefer the original Wonderland than the new one, just a bit too much going on in the new one, but just my own preference of course.
