These priest helped me open my eyes I live in California and he is a Byzantine Catholic and invited me and wife with our daughter to a Divine Liturgy and it helped us both out to understand just really how diverted The Church is!!
Wow! "Mary contains what the cosmos could not contain". Best description of why we venerate Mary ever. Then, Chris, you follow it up with correlating Mary and the church. Knocked my feet right out from under me. Humility is too simple a word. Love you both.
What a fantastic broadcast for me! Chis and Father Mike together discussing advent and great Byzantine iconography! Chris is his usual fountain of joy which I find spiritually invigorating. His comments on the need for humility is also such a needed message for we humans. Chris and Father Mike led a pilgrimage to Italy this past summer in June which my sister and I were blessed to attend, so it is especially uplifting to see the two of them do what they do best, stoke the joy and sew the need for humility in celebrating and anticipating the birth of our savior. By the way, a big highlight of my pilgrimage was being able to serve with Father Mike during our daily celebration of the mass the last 3 or 4 days of the pilgrimage. Forever humbled, but always feeling the joy that emanates from Chris. Merry Christmas one and all.
Tomorrow,Wednesday Dec 18th, Friday Dec 20th and Saturday Dec 21st are Ember Days (following the Feast Day of St Lucy), so there is another great opportunity for fasting and prayer leading up to Christmas!
I appreciate the insights about how fasting emphasizes the idea of anticipation, so we can, body and soul, more deeply enter into the celebration of the Feast of Christmas. It's also astounding to think that the cosmos couldn't contain God, yet Mary contained God in her womb.
lol - I'm carnivore for health reasons as the things that don't bother me are meat, eggs, and dairy. 🤣 Fasting is actually awesome. I've found it helps clear certain days of clutter so you can clean your environment, and your body is cleansed because fasting is cleansing and healing, and it makes more time for prayer. 🙂 I actually enjoy the benefits of fasting and can see the negative impact when I neglect it.
Hey Chris: this advent is so important for the second coming of Christ of this world and our heart to enshrined in us that we getting ready for him to be inside in us.
"Jesus, never let me forget that you are the reason for this" - thank you for the reminder!

All Catholic pastors (with our help) need to do this for our lonely parishioners.
@@sheilagraham8543 for many pastors, they too may be lonely and this creates community. It is an inspired win win. So thankful for Fr. Sean.
