If you run out of space to land, you can also just hit the F key as soon as you touch the ground, if you are alone in the plane, it will come to an immediate stop. Of course it's not very immersive :)

Yeah, the first server I played Scum on had a Taxi service, which would carry you, your friends and chests if you were looking to move.:-) I started right before .5 was released, so I didn't get the real early experience of not needing fuel and batteries!
Thanks, I haven't flown in a game in probably decades, and using a keyboard really confused my brain, as S is to climb and W is to descend. It makes sense in relationship to a joystick or yoke, but for some reason my instinct was to do the opposite on a keyboard lol
I don't think the "Trader's Funds" is currently an active mechanic in the game as of 0.75, I've easily sold 10k+ worth of items to these traders and had their funds down to -$1 but I still get money when I sell things to them.
Yes, there is a small trailer tank by the hangar. But with the planes, you don't have to be right next to it, you can refuel with your plane on the runway, like where I stopped after I landed. Maybe about 50 meters from the tank.
Levelling up your Aviation skill increases your top speed while flying, and your maneuverability. I haven't noticed any difference as far as takeoff distance or landing.

I had someone air drop me to the middle of the sea to rescue a capsized boat, I paid him a few K plus the parachute.
